Chapter Text
Robin is sitting on her couch staring out the window waiting for Nancy who isn't going to be there for another 30 minutes. She's really panicking. There are so many things she could do to embarrass herself and the list is growing by the minute. Steve spent the rest of their whole shift trying to calm her down but it hadn't really worked that well to no one's surprise. She is still practically vibrating with nerves.
Thankfully Nancy decides to show up fifteen minutes early, pushing Robin's panic to the side. Robin practically runs to the door to let her inside. Her house isn't big by any means but it's very homey and Robin had made sure to clean up anything that could be considered a mess.
“Hey, I kinda forgot to ask what you like so I got a little bit of everything” Nancy says while holding a bag clearly packed full of snacks in one hand and their stack of movies in the other.
“Well it’s a good thing a like pretty much everything” Robin laughs, holding the door open for her
“You can just place it all on the coffee table” Robin instructs while she grabs two blankets for them.
“So, which one should we watch first?” Nancy says after dropping down on the couch.
“ We could start with The Goonies or The Princess Bride first and end it with The Shining.” Robin suggests, then sits just close enough to Nancy for it to seem normal but Nancy just pulls her close enough that their legs are touching.
Nancy looks up at her and smiles. “The Goonies sound good”
Robin once again believes she could die appy from looking at that smile “Okay” she says quickly getting up and putting it in. She tries again to sit farther away from nancy but this time Nancy turns and places her legs in her lap. Robin is red. Nancy looks up and giggles “sorry is this okay?” she asks somehow, making Robin blush more and of course words start spilling out “Yeah, Yeah, it's good. Yep, I'm actually really comfortable, I don’t mind at all. I’m shutting up now.” Robin wants to snack herself in the face but Nancy just giggles and turns to focus on the movie.
The movie is funny and they both enjoy it so they decide to put in Princess Bride next by Nancy’s request. By this time her and Nancy are practically spooning with Robin’s head resting on Nancy's shoulder but she wouldn't dare comment on it. She’s living her dream.
Buttercup immediately reminds Robin of Nancy with her mannerisms and confidence.
When they get to the giant rats there's no denying that they are cuddling when Robin holds Nancy a little tighter and mumbles “Rabies” Nancy laughs and Robin can feel her breath on her lips, Robin smiles at her just admiring her beauty. It’s when she glances at her lips that she looks back into Nancy’s blue eyes that are staring right back at her she sees Nancy glance down at her lips as they get closer Robin tells her mind to shut up for once as their lips connect. Robins is exencing a moment she’s dreamed about and it’s a million times better than she had ever imagined before.
Eventually they have to breathe and they both pull away from each other, out of breath and giddy. They both started laughing, Robin is the first one to say something because she can only shut off her brain for so long. “ I thought you were straight.” She says placing her head back onto Nancy's shoulder.
“ I like both.” Nancy mumbles into her ear and she starts to play with her hair. “Cool.” Robin mumbles back smiling like she won an award. Robin wraps her arm around Nancy's waist and is drawn back to the tv as Buttercup wakes up from a nightmare they both completely missed. It doesn’t matter what the movie is like now, The Princess Bride is her favorite movie.
They finish The Princess Bride and are watching Back to the Future. They should be half way through but as they are currently making out they don’t know. It doesn’t matter to them all they care about is being surrounded by each other and nothing else.
By the end of the movie they both agree to go to bed, both of them in Robin’s bed of course. They are cuddled up in the duvet when Robin's brain starts to get loud again.
“ Nancy?” She whispers hoping she’s still awake
“Yes?” Nancy whispers back sounding tired
“Can you be my girlfriend now?” She asks, holding herself back from rambling. Nancy turns and smiles at her “Robin, will you be my girlfriend?” Nancy asks, making Robin smile “I would love to be your girlfriend Nancy. But I have to warn you I am literally walking anxiety, also is it weird that I’m dating my best friends ex? Oh! I have to tell Steve, can I tell Steve?” Robin rambles causing Nancy to giggle
“Um, no it’s not weird and yes you can tell Steve. But I think he already knows, he winks at me every time I talk to you.” Nancy laughs along with Robin because, yeah that sounds like Steve.
When Robin wakes up the next morning Nancy is still wrapped around her and she has to for herself to get up. She would gladly stay there cuddling with her now girlfriend forever but she doesn’t want to get fired. So she gets ready enough to look like she actually tried and went to the kitchen to make breakfast.
She quickly remembers that she is not at all talented in the cooking department, that’s Steve’s job. So she makes grits, reheats some sausage, and pathetically scrambles some eggs for both Nancy and herself.
Nancy is still asleep when she enters her room so she lets herself take in how pretty Nancy looks while sleeping, she’s like an angel in Robin’s eyes. Sadly she has to wake her up so she slightly shakes her until she hears a small groan and Nancy slowly opens her eyes. Robin smiles down at her until Nancy sits up and realizes she’s holding food.
“You didn’t have to make me breakfast.” Nancy says with sleep dripping from her voice.
“I wanted to.” Robin replies as she sits at the end of the bed and starts to eat.
They both eat in comfortable silence. Nancy gets ready nather quickly and they both meet up at the front door.
“Thanks for tonight, it was fun.” Nancy says, intertwining their fingers and smiling.
“Don’t mention it, I’m going to be late if I don’t leave but I seriously don’t want to. Can we hang out again soon? I really don’t think I can stand waiting a long time until I can see you.” Robin rushes out smiling and giddy from the night before. Nancy nods and says of course so they let their hands drop and they leave the house.
When Nancy drops Robin off at work Steve grins at her and laughs when she blushes as red as a tomato.
“So, it seems like I was right.” Steve states
“Yeah, shut up” Robin mumbles and Steve just laughs and puts his hand on her shoulder
“Hey, I’m really happy for you.” He says and Robin can tell he really means it and it makes her so happy to have a friend like him.
“Thanks, dingus.” Robin says and they both start their respective daily tasks.
