Chapter Text

It's been a couple of days since Johnny Vincent's back to the academy. He was attending classes, hanging out with the Greasers at the auto shop.

He was becoming more and more back to himself, except for things that revolve around Lola.

He would clam up whenever she walked past him, refusing eye contact. Lola wasn't exactly, 'exiled' per se from the auto shop, it was just their favourite spot to hang out, but whenever she was there, the other Greasers would try to not speak too much to her.

It was the same in New Coventry. Johnny and his boys chill out in the streets and in the Tenements, Lola comes to do, whatever the hell she does, Johnny goes on his way to avoid her, the same with the other Greasers.

Everybody's opinions were split on about Lola. Some thought she was a cold hearted bitch for leaving Johnny in the dust, some thought maybe she also needed time from Johnny, some just, remained rather neutral and maybe the two really needed some time off eachother. Peanut was on that side, but he can't help but think Lola is cold for not even checking on Johnny during his isolation period.

He was a bit glad though that Lola didn't try to test their patience by taking on some other dude, which was slightly strange..? She did tried to hit on that Gord kid when she was still dating Johnny, but now she wasn't even seen making a move on anyone, which piqued Peanut's curiosity.

All in all, he was just glad Johnny's back and Lola isn't there to add in the salt to the wound.

--

It was after Shop class, Peanut wanted to get a smoke near the parking lot when Jimmy approached him.

"Yo, sup dude?"

Peanut gave him a fist bump

"Sup Jim! Want a smoke?" He offered a cigarette to him

Jimmy took it and Peanut lit their cigarettes with his lighter. They both huffed a smoke out as they leaned of the brick fence. Johnny was in the distance, chatting joyfully with Hal and Lefty.

"So, Johnny's all good now?" Jimmy initiated the conversation.

"Yeah, suppose so"

Jimmy raised an eyebrow, "What's that supposed to mean?"

"It's just.. he's fine and all, but around Lola he's-.." Peanut huffed a smoke. "I guess he doesn't wanna hang around Lola"

"They had a bad breakup right? He probably wants some time off of her. It's never easy to befriend someone you saw stars in, but now you're both strangers"

Peanut only stared at Jimmy. Where did this artsy fartsy side of Jimmy came from?

"What?"

"So that's why you're Mr. Galloway's favorite student.."

Jimmy nudged Peanut on the shoulder, snickering.

"Gimme a break, I got to write an essay about poetry and now it's stuck on my brain"

Peanut stared at the ground, a question popped up into his mind.

"Say, did Lola make a move to you or did you see Lola with anyone?"

Jimmy paused briefly, then answered.

"Nah, I never really liked her that much and I don't think I saw anyone with her recently"

"Recently? What about before?"

"Before Johnny came back or their breakup?"

"Uhh.. before Johnny came back"

Jimmy took another huff of his cigarette, thinking.

"Hmm, I don't think I saw anyone with her really, I mean, I barely see that chick even in the classes we share"

"I see.."
