Chapter Text
Ash walked deeper into the forest ahead of him. He was currently in the forests next to Vermillion City, assisting Goh and Cinderace to try and catch some pokemon. Goh tried to convince him that the trainer shouldn't come, that maybe he'd get hurt. But, as dense as Ash is, he refused to listen.
They both continued walking deeper until they saw a dodrio run past them. "Ash! Did you see that?" Goh asked him excitement. Ash nodded, sharing the enthusiasm. "We need to go get it! C'mon Cinderace, maybe if we run over this way then we'll catch up with it!" Goh hurriedly said as he pointed into a clearing inside the woods. It looked like a hiking trail from what Ash saw, and pretty safe. Plus, Goh must know what he's doing. Right? So Ash followed the overexcited teen into the clearing.
Goh quickly picked up his pace once they reached, trying to outrun the unseeable bird pokemon. Ash followed slowly behind, trying to not trip on any rocks or get his foot caught on fallen branches.
Goh sadly, being less experienced in the outdoors, fell from his leg getting caught on a root that was poking above ground. He slammed into the ground, knee and elbows betting scraped in the process.
The Pallet trainer, realizing that his partner got hurt, quickly ran over and sat beside the injured Vermillion. "Are you okay?" He quietly asked, and Goh just nodded. "It's just a scrape... we can continue going if-!"
"No, we're not going anywhere. Chloe's going to kill me if she sees you any more injured then you already are. Let's go home and get you fixed up. We can chase that dodrio after," Ash cut in, in an affirmative voice. Goh only nodded, allowing himself to get carried piggyback-style on Ash's back.
They made it over back to Cerise Laboratory, and Ash dropped Goh onto the bed. He left, coming back with some rubbing alcohol and some cotton balls. Along with a few bandages.
"Stay still, this might sting a little," Ash warned, and Goh only nodded. he was really powerless here, so he did whatever Ash told him to.
The Pallet trainer slowly soaked the cotton balls in the rubbing alcohol, before lightly rubbing them over the wounds. He made sure that they were thoroughly cleaned before adding on some lotion and putting on the bandages.
"Feeling better now?" Ash asked, and Goh nodded. He walked over towards Ash, placing a light peck on his cheek as a 'thank you'. Ash smiled at that gesture, before returning it.
"Tomorrow we can chase after that dodrio. For now, let's just rest."
Goh agrees, and they both lay back on the bed. Bathing from the rays of the sun, and huddled up in each other's arms.
