Chapter Text
It was now midday and Arnold and his friends were on their way to Gerald field. They wanted to show the two new exchange students T.J and Theresa Lamaze AKA Cornchip Girl, their spot.
Gerald field was an originally a vacant parking lot filled with overgrown weeds. Arnold and his group of friends used this area to play Baseball and other sports activities.
T.J was clearly impressed with Gerald Field, as was Cornchip Girl.
“Woah, you guys have this whole area to yourselves?” T.J asked.
“Sure do, im also the one who named it” Gerald said
“Do the adults let you play in here?”
“They honestly don’t mind, as long as we keep the activity in the area” Arnold replied.
“You want to play?” Gerald asked T.J
“Sure”
T.J then joined the others in their game. He was the batter, while Sid was the pitcher. When Sid threw the ball at T.J, he whacked it with the bat and ran. T.J then quickly ran across the field to catch the ball, which he did.
“If only Vince can see this place”
“Whose Vince” Sid asked.
“A close friend of mine who aspires to be a sports athlete” T.J said.
“What does T.J stand for?” Helga asked sarcastically.
“Theodore Jasper but since my full name is a mouthful, my nickname is T.J”
While T.J was talking with the others, Rhonda took notice of Cornchip Girl. She was intrigued by Theresa's white skirt.
“What's with the getup?” She asked.
“You like my Skirt?” Cornchip Girl asked.
“Like it?, it’s a bit tacky for my taste?” Rhonda asked.
Being from a rich family, Rhonda was spoiled and self-centered. Because of this, she was often ignorant of other People's feelings.
“Rhonda, Theresa can wear a skirt if she wants to” Timberly reprimanded.
Theresa was about to well up in tears and cried loudly. This caught the attention of the rest of the group.
“Rhonda, Theresa can wear a skirt if she wants to” Timberly reprimanded.
“Way to go Rhonda!” Helga said.
Rhonda then tried to comfort the crying, Theresa.
“I'm really sorry Theresa, I can be judgmental". Rhonda stated
Theresa was still crying, and Rhonda was starting to panic.
“How about I get you a new dress” Rhonda said.
“New Dress?” Theresa asked, while calming down.
“Yeah, I think I saw a nice purple dress in a yard sale somewhere”.
Later the group made their way home. T.J was about to leave, until being pulled to the side by Helga.
“Hey what gives? T.J asked.
“Alright buster, I'm on to you!” Helga said.
“What do you mean?
“I know you’ve been sent here to get every girl in this neighborhood to fall in love with you, well it's not going to work on me!”
“Why are you not in love with me?
Helga was then stunned by this remark and frozen in her place.
“Hey I'm just kidding”
“You better be or I might give you a knuckle sandwich”
“You know Helga, you remind me of someone”
“I do?”
“Yeah, my friend Spinelli, she has a tough exterior, but a soft interior”
As the week went on, the friends got on really well. Timberly and Theresa played with each other constantly. They were drawing little doodles on a street wall. T.J on the other hand was showing off some of his pranks to the others.
Eventually the day came when the friends had to say goodbye, as T.J and Theresa had to return to their hometown.
T.J was waiting outside the Boarding house with his suitcase, while Arnold came up to him.
“Can't believe that you're going already” Arnold said.
“ I know, this vacation from Third Street has been nice”
“Will we ever see you again?”
“Who knows, we can be pen pals if you want”
“Consider it done”
Theresa then came out the front door with her suitcase. Instead of her usual attire, she was wearing an all-purple dress, with the exception of white socks, collar and her black shoes.
Rhonda also got T.J an all-blue cap, something of a souvenir.
"Here you go, Detweiler" Rhonda stated
T.J gave a bemused look at the blue cap, before taking it.
“Goodbye you two” Arnold stated.
“Goodbye Arnold, you and the others are good kids in my book”
As the coach drove off to the airport, Theresa saw Timberly and the others from the window. She waved at them, especially at Timberly.
For T.J and Theresa, it was indeed going to be a long flight home.
