Chapter Text
Day 15: Bowling
It really is no surprise to Tametomo when Juuru is good at everything, including bowling. The Kiramagers haven’t had the time to spend time together and when they found the perfect date to have them together, they wanted to make it as memorable as possible.
And so, the Kiramager bowling competition, which is planned to be done monthly, is born. Tametomo forgot the last time he played bowling, probably way before Juuru entered the team, but his muscles at least memorized how to handle a ball and hit a strike.
Tametomo teamed up with Shiguru and Takamichi while Juuru was with Sena and Sayo. Although they really want Mabusheena to join, she has queen duties and Takamichi manages to sneak out before he can even hear his sister’s screams.
They are surprisingly well matched. Sena is an athlete so she picked it up well and Juuru is just…amazing to him. He was a beginner and he did say he and Kakihara had friendly dates playing bowling before, but the way he has grounded stature and consistent strength in every throw, he is the team player for his team.
The team player for Tametomo’s team is none other than our resident actor, Shiguru. He said that his actor and actress friends usually had their own bowling competitions and also had the need to be networking, he also played quite a lot.
The oldest two, Sayo and Takamichi, are struggling a lot. Sayo’s last bowling memories were in her university days and Takamichi never really played it. That’s a fact that Tametomo is intrigued at, the fact that Crystalia doesn’t have bowling.
Tametomo himself is a bit rusty but with three strikes, he doesn’t really care about the game. As long as he is with his loved ones is what matters to him right now. Even though one of his loved ones is being screamed at by a certain blue warrior for always throwing the ball into the gutter. He considered stopping Shiguru from embarrassing the whole group in public but he decided that he also missed that voice’ somewhere inside his head.
The game is almost ending and Juuru’s theme is winning. The bowling man himself decided that he will be the turning point of the game by bowling two strikes in a row.
“Shiguru, you know you don’t need to be this invested in this game,” Tametomo said and he was greeted back with a very terrifying face from his best friend.
“You say that again and I will use your head as a replacement,” Tametomo raised his hands in defeat, already used to Shiguru’s unhinged moments. The others, especially Juuru, had concerns painted on their faces, only to be surprised by Shiguru’s scream of triumph.
“STRIKE!” he screams, as if the world doesn’t know from the weird noise he made when the ball hits the pin.
They are in the last round now and Sayo was up. Shiguru chuckled, “Well, the victory is ours, boys,” Takamichi is still recovering from being screamed at and Tametomo just gave him an awkward thumbs up. His friend is really over confident in their wins, which he finds endearing.
Cheers from Juuru and Sena to hype Sayo up worked like a charm when Sayo herself threw a strike, immediately putting them still in the lead. Juuru and Sena stood up and hugged, screaming at their friend’s success while Tametomo put up a face, surprised that Sayo finally landed one.
The shock gave Shiguru tremors as Sayo walked down to him to flaunt her first strike that night.
“Bring on your best, bowling man,” she said, pulling the man’s collar softly. Tametomo doesn’t know if it meant to flirt or intimidate but it seems to be working. The blue warrior’s actions seem exaggerated, as if a director had ordered him to act as a fool.
And a fool he did become.
Both of his throws were in the gutter and he mourns in silence by lying down on the dirty floor of the bowling alley while his friends try to console him. Tametomo continues to sip on his beer when Juuru suddenly comes in to sit beside him.
“Don’t you want to at least console him?” Juuru asked as his vision stared at the limbs of a man surrounded by his friends. He saw a glimpse of his face as if it was just nothingness, as if he had a white out while he had his eyes open. He wanted to laugh a little.
“He’ll come around. That man is sometimes overdramatic,” he said, putting down his beer. His eyes met Juuru’s face who is currently chuckling at their friend’s antics. Tametomo made a space between his legs and tapped on it.
“Come here,” he said, signaling Juuru to sit between them. With no hesitation, the boy made himself comfortable between Tametomo’s legs, immediately being engulfed by the heat of Tametomo’s chest and arms around him.
The yellow ranger chuckled as Juuru melted in the embrace.
“What’s so funny?” his boyfriend giggled and Juuru just smiled from that reaction.
“I just love that you’re taller than me but since you are all legs, you look small when you sit down. Makes me feel bigger than I already am,” he said, sliding his arms around Juuru’s waist. They both coddle in each other’s warmth, fighting the brutal air conditioning in the bowling alley.
“I didn’t know you could play,” Juuru said as he intertwined his fingers with Tametomo’s coarse ones to find any source of heat. Tametomo gladly grabbed it and warmed it up.
“I played sometimes before I knew you,” Juuru smiles at that. He never wanted to ask Tametomo how his life was before they met because it could be something that Tametomo doesn’t want to talk about. He never tried to ask about it but this playful aura gave him some idea to tease his boyfriend.
“Oh. Was it with someone that I know?” he asked and he felt Tametomo’s hands stop from caressing his hands. Tametomo was straight up confused at the question. He took a bit of time before answering, “No.” and Juuru flipped, playing sulk.
“You hesitated, Tame-kun. Was it with your ex-girlfriend?” Hearing that question, Tametomo lightly smacked Juuru’s butt causing a whine from the boy.
“What kind of question is this, baby? It is with my friends, of course,” he trapped the boy with a tighter hug.
“Just saying, the last time we had something remotely close to bowling, it was the first time you had a crush on Yodonna,” he chuckled as Tametomo stumbled on his word. He leans forward to meet Juuru’s eyes.
“Hey, I thought she is a human not an enemy, okay? Besides, do you really count that bomb Jamen as close to anything related to what I am experiencing right now? A cute boy in my arms and friends that doesn’t seem to mind public embarrassment? Hm? I don’t think so,” he sings a bit for the last sentence as he tickles Juuru. The boy struggles and squirms in his grip, begging for mercy.
“Fine, fine, you win. I can never win, I swear,” he said exasperatedly, tired from the tickles. Tametomo puts his head on Juuru’s shoulders and kisses his cheeks.
“In bowling? Perhaps. But if the competition is affection and your opponent is me, better submit and surrender,” he said softly, pinching Juuru’s cheek as both boys melts in each other’s warmth while the chaos that is their friends are still playing in the background.
