Chapter Text
Charlie’s POV:
I kiss Nick. I don’t know how to describe this. It feels different. It’s not like when Ben would kiss me. He makes me feel special, as if he truly cares about me. I wish we could be like this forever. We break apart. I check the time, realizing that I’m supposed to leave here at 10:00. It is currently 9:27.We still have about 33 minutes left. Before I have the chance to speak, I hear Nick say “Would you like to go to the milkshake cafe? I think they stay open past 11”. “I would love to!” I replied. I text my dad saying that I’m leaving the party. He seems kind of concerned but I assure him that it’s because we wanted to get milkshakes. He says I can stay put until 10:30. At 9:56 we get to the cafe. Nick orders a bubble gum monstrosity while I get a chocolate shake. After we sit down at a booth, Nick asks “how did you know that you were gay”. I wasn’t expecting him to ask this. I guess I’ve sort of always known. I guess I’ve always been aware of it. I tell him about how I’ve always known about it. After a bit of talking, I realize that it is 10:13, 17 minutes before I’m supposed to go home. It takes about 10 minutes to walk. As Nick and I start walking down the road, he stops at a corner. We have plenty of time since he wanted to race me to my house. He looks into my eyes. I’m just now realizing how absolutely beautiful he is. Dark brown eyes and blonde hair. We stood there for a second. He softly grabs my face and kisses me. Now it is 10:23. We walk the rest of the way home in comfortable silence. When I get to the door, he hugs as if he might not ever see me again. I head inside and change clothes. I check my phone
