Chapter Text
“—Shit...”
The brunette calmed down, her glowing iris goes back to its original tint, and she smiles. (Chaeyoung gets shivers.) Mina gave her attention back to her lover, clinging tightly.
“No cursing, Chaengie.” Mina hummed and delivered a loving kiss on Chaeyoung's cheek. The latter blushed, albeit still shocked at the latest occurrence.
Chaeyoung took a glance at Yeonwoo's table again, aiming to clarify if it was actually real and it actually happened or if she was just being delusional. To her amazement and distress, the individuals at the other table seemed to be fretting about the incident too.
She would've looked more if not for a forceful hand tugging her jaw.
Chaeyoung sees Mina. “Eyes here baby cub,” Mina whispered in a way of possessiveness. What?
Chaeyoung gulped, prying the soft hand away she blurted out; “Why didn't you tell me?”
“I didn't need to tell you, you knew.” Mina pouted.
“That's not what I meant...I thought...” Thought that she couldn't control any sort of machines anymore?
“Well, that's what you thought.” She snuggled closer to Chaeyoung, giving quick pecks everywhere making Chaeyoung stutter and almost forget about the conversation at hand. That's right. Her powers are not that big of a deal anymore.
“T-that's not the—” she groaned. “Stop! Mina, there are people here!” Chaeyoung suddenly felt self-aware, she never did like it when people looked at what she does. She makes a move to lean away from the girl, which worked. Mina was still a little weak but at least she was healthy.
Mina pouted again, eyes pointedly looking at Chaeyoung who struggled to minimize her eye contact with her instead.
Oh, when did she ever resist the cute pout? She hugged, Mina anyway but only after covering the woman's pretty mouth when she attempted to strike at the tiger again. Mina quit when the waitress came to them with their orders.
“Woah...” Chaeyoung licked her lips at the sight of a delicious strawberry cake. She gaped as more and more strawberries came to their table.
“All for you, Chaengie.” Mina kissed her on the lips.
—
“Mina that was the best strawberry cake I've ever tasted!” Chaeyoung stayed close to Mina, putting a protective hand down her waist as they walked down a path.
Mina giggled, her gummy smile showing that Chaeyoung never hated. “I'm glad you liked it, Chaeng.”
“I didn't like, it. I loved it.”
“Cheesy now, aren't we?” they laughed.
Chaeyoung's phone notification rang but stopped midway. She halted, the gears that were once clogged in her head moved, and then, she remembered.
She snatched her phone quickly from her pocket, seeing a message— she typed in the passcode in haste— Dahyun's messages* getting deleted one by one. The only message that she managed to read was ‘how's the date going, cub?’ She narrowed her eyes at Mina in suspicion.
Mina winced at the look. “I didn't want anyone to bother our date...”
Chaeyoung put the phone back in her pocket. “Even if it was just Dahyun?” She chuckled despite her response. If she were Mina, she would've done the same. She doesn't like a good date to be interrupted.
“Sorry.”
“Hey, don't worry about it Minari.” With that nickname beamed, the guilty look vanished. “Plus, I wouldn't want anyone to bother us for now. I only want to focus on our date.” Chaeyoung slid her hand into Mina, giving her an appreciative squeeze.
“I love you, Chaengie.”
“I love you too, Minari.”
A downpour erupted, and Chaeyoung has never felt so irritated in a while.
—
“Are you okay?” She leaned down on the head that laid still on her shoulder. She felt the latter nod. Huddling closer to her.
“I'm okay now, thanks to Chaengie's blazer.” Mina muffled out.
They stayed at a bus stop, It was the closest thing they could stay at because they already have walked a long way from their date place. Now, they stuck closer to each other as they watched the raindrop.
It was until Chaeyoung decide on something, “Wait here, I'll—” She made an action to stand up, but Mina tugged her down again.
“Stay here,” she ordered. “I won't let you go.”
“But—”
“No buts, you won't go. Not with the rain.”
“Plus, I won't get electrified if that's what you're worried about,” Mina added, giggling slightly.
Chaeyoung calmed down. “That's not...whatever.” She rolled her eyes when she finally understood the joke. Mina laughed even harder.
She watched as heaven's tears stream down, and her thrumming heart calmed. She reminisces, it wasn't that long when she met Mina right? Each memory that transpired burned like a mark in her head.
“Chaengie?”
“Yes, Minari?”
“I...would it be okay, if I doze off for a minute? W- I don't know why. But with, you always feel like-”
With Mina, Chaeyoung will be fine. “Yes, Don't worry. I'll wake you up when the rain calms down.”
Then, Mina kissed her. “Thank you.” She smiles, eyes shining brightly and went back to her earlier position, leaving Chaeyoung in shock.
With Mina, never did Chaeyoung's heart stop fluttering so hard.
