Chapter Text
After that day, Marcy and Anne were practically glued to one another and grew cheeser for each passing day, much to Sasha's demise who had to be near the two absolute dorks and their PDA.
So it was no surprise that in just a few days, their whole school knew they were dating, not only because of all the handholding and hundreds of cheek kisses but because they gladly brought it up to say "my girlfriend this and my girlfriend that" at any given moment.
They truly were insufferable Sasha thought but she was happy for them regardless and wouldn't want it in any other way.
The three were sitting in the cafeteria, Anne and Marcy on one side and Sasha on the other of the table.
Sasha was scrolling thru her phone waiting for her two best friends to stop being affectionate by Anne feeding Marcy some of the chocolate pudding she had brought with her.
"You are going to make Marcy get Diabetes if you keep this up you know?" Said Sasha without looking up from her phone, unbothered.
"I already have it because Anne is so sweet" Marcy cooed making Anne laugh and Sasha fake a gag.
"You are going to be the death of me. How can you be so shamelessly cheesy?" Sasha questioned and Marcy smirked
"Maybe we do it because we know it annoys you?"
Sasha gave Marcy an annoyed look, not wanting to find out whenever they really were that cheesy or had played her like a fiddle for weeks on purpose. In the end, it probably was both.
Sasha then got a text message and her brows knitted together.
Anne was first to notice as Marcy was too busy finishing Anne's leftovers.
"What's wrong?"
"It's nothing, it's just, I keep getting messages from all these people asking me to prom and I don't really feel like going with any of them if they don't have the balls to ask me directly" Sasha sighed and rested her chin in her hand.
"Oh yeah, prom is coming up" Anne acknowledged and moved slightly when Marcy laid down her head against her lap as she pulled out her switch from her hoodie.
a low tune of a game Sasha didn't recognize could be heard.
Sasha raised an eyebrow at Anne
"You're a lot less excited than I thought you would be," said Sasha and Anne merely shrugged.
"You ARE going right?" Asked Sasha
"Uhh…" Anne started and then looked down at Marcy who was full-on focused on her game and unbothered by the conversation.
"Marcy" said Anne to get her attention.
"Prom? U-huh what about it?"
"Are we going?" Anne asked
"Hmm…" Marcy hummed and Anne sighed knowing she had lost her girlfriend to the world of gaming so she started to shake her legs to snap her out of it.
"Marcy-honey-sweetie-sugar-gravy"
"Ok fine! What?" Marcy sat up and gave Anne an irritated look for not being a still pillow but Anne just stuck out her tongue.
And Sasha chuckled amused, they were way more bearable when their friendship leaked into their relationship to just annoy each other instead.
"Sasha is wondering if we are going to prom. Are we?" Anne asked and Marcy looked at the girl then at Sasha and let out a sigh.
"I don't really like that stuff- too much people" Marcy cringed from just thinking about it but then at Anne who sighed in visible disappointment she smiled.
"Buuut… if you want to, I wouldn't mind " Marcy finished. Making Anne shine up as well.
"Yes!! Prom here we come! It's going to be awesome, we're definitely going to win the best couple right Mar Mar?" Anne said and threw an arm around Marcy's shoulder who glanced at Anne with a mischievous grin.
"Who said I'm going with you? I don't recall you asking me" Marcy said and Anne's face dropped.
"You're sure are feisty today, fine!"
Marcy Regina wu. Do you want to go to prom with me?" Anne asked.
Marcy cringed from hearing her middle name but then hit back with
"wow, here I was expecting you to do something grand and you just ask me like that?"
"I uhh- what do you want from me!" Anne threw up her hands in annoyance from Marcy playing coy with her but Marcy just giggled and planted a small kiss on Anne's lips.
"I'd love to.-Savisa" Marcy chuckled as Anne blushed from the sudden kiss.
"Well, now when that's over- let's get back to the real problem.
Who do I go with???" Sasha groaned and faced down at the table.
"What about that guy uh… Jacob? Weren't you two texting for like super long now?" Anne asked and Sasha sighed
"He decided I had too many issues and didn't want a girl who led an army once, to be his girlfriend so now he is playing around with someone else " said Sasha and both Anne and Marcy frowned upon hearing it.
"Wow what a jerk" Anne spat
"Should we ruin his locker? I can picklock it and make a stink bomb if you want" Marcy offered in a heartbeat.
"It's fine girls, It wasn't that serious, either way, he ain't worth it" Sasha sighed and played with her paper mug, thinking what to do and considering if she should say yes to one of the losers,
that had messaged her instead of asking directly. Normally the three of them would go together but now when her two best friends were a couple, things were different in that regard.
She didn't mind it as long her two nerds were happy so was she.
she did miss doing those kind of things together just a tad bit but if
anything, she was sure the three could go together if she just asked them but she wanted to let them have a prom together as a couple.
Sasha thought about it further as Anne and Marcy were still on whether or not they should beat up Jacob or not or just be nuisances to him for dissing their best friend.
“Uhm… Excuse me, Hi..:” A voice then said catching Sasha’s attention, and looked up at a girl she hadn't seen around before.
dyed hair and in a leather jacket, she was pretty.
“Hi…?” Sasha said confused, the girl had a slight blush on her face as she spoke.
“you’re Sasha Waybright, right? Captain of the cheerleading squad."
"the one and only, whats up?"
" Well... I know this is pretty much a long shot but uh…. do you have anyone to go to prom with? if not… Want to go with me?” The girl asked, her eyes diverting slightly from Sasha but quickly returning her gaze to her it was direct and the girl looked cool, Sasha could vibe with this.
“hmm, sure, what's your name?” Sasha smiled, paying full attention to the girl as Marcy and Anne quietly watched the exchange huddled up together. this was interesting.
“Jocey, Jocey Johnsson “ The girl grinned and extended her hand and when Sasha took it, Jocey lifted it and kissed the top of her palm, making Sasha blush slightly from the sudden take, this girl was forward and charming huh?
“nice to meet you Sasha, here is my number if you want to hang out before the time comes, to get to know each other” The girl said and handed over a piece of paper to Sasha and then left the dining hall and Sasha looked after her, lost in thought.
and once she looked back at Anne and Marcy she saw them having the most shit-eating grin ever. “not. one. word. “ Sasha warned.
“ohhhhhh Sasha was blushing~” Anne cooed.
“she was cute, don't you think Sash?” Marcy smirked
“shut up, shut up, shut up”
The rest of the day, the two would cling all over Sasha and mention the new girl since she had made THE Sasha Waybright to blush, something they found amusing and hilarious to poke fun of and how cute it was to see.
weeks passed and prom was getting closer.
Sasha had started to hang out a lot with the new girl and Marcy and Anne knew there was not going to be long until the two started to date since they seemed to get along quite well.
Marcy became busy with taking care of Link, as Mr. Boonchuy had given the news that his owner had sadly passed away and not made it after all.
something that Link seemed to have known before Marcy even got the news as the dog suddenly stopped eating and almost seemed depressed so she did her best to pay extra attention to him and gave him plenty of pats and love, so for the most part whenever Marcy was free from school and clubs she directly went home right away to make sure Link had eaten and to play with him.
And since Anne couldn't stand being without Marcy she tended to join her, so they mostly spent time together watching movies as they patted Link or went to a dog park to play with him.
The only times Anne was not with Marcy,
was whenever she had to help out with her parent's restaurant, her tennis practice or was preparing for prom with Sasha as they wanted to plan out some outfits together to look nice for their dates.
In the end, the two decided to go shopping.
While Sasha was confident about what to wear, Anne took her time and was unsure what to wear and ranted to Sasha about it several times and that it needed to be perfect.
she both felt like a suit and dress could be nice and wondered what Marcy would prefer.
Sasha however had to stop Anne from getting too obsessed with it and said that no matter what, Marcy would be crazy for her either way and that Marcy probably won’t care whenever or not it's perfect
With Anne knew she was right and took a deep breath to calm down.
and that’s when she had seen the perfect outfit.
a few days later Prom arrived.
Marcy felt slightly anxious because Anne had told her she would meet her there instead of arriving together, Marcy was with Sasha and Jocey and she started to understand how unbearable she and Anne had been.
by being around the two's constant flirting around each other.
both looked good together though, especially with Sasha’s dress-suit and Jocey in a black pretty but punk dress.
Marcy herself had tied up her hair for once in a small bun and let a few bangs hang and decided on a suit with a green shirt underneath and a bowtie that Sasha had helped her pick out and encouraged her to go with since Marcy did not feel too comfortable with a dress as of late.
The three walked in and Marcy was hit by an immediate humid warmth from all teens being about and music swallowing the building.
Sasha quickly tapped Marcy on the shoulder and waved only saying a quick "good luck"
As she got dragged off to the dance floor by her date.
"Wait, don't leave me alone!" Marcy said taking a few steps forward to reach out to Sasha but she was already gone.
"What now" Marcy groaned, feeling anxiety build up being around so many people and it didn't help with them bumping into her.
And left her uncomfortable.
But the moment she turned around she spotted Anne she felt her cheeks burn and jaw drop at just how gorgeous and beautiful Anne was.
Time felt as if it slowed down. Anne had spotted her too and the two could only stare in awe.
Anne snapped out from it first and approached Marcy who was still frozen in place about how amazing her girlfriend was and she almost couldn't believe she was awake.
That everything had been a dream uptil then.
But no, that was Anne and she was Marcy's girlfriend.
That thought would always leave butterflies in her stomach.
Anne bowed slightly before Marcy with a small smirk as she could see how her girlfriend was in shock. "May I have this dance?" Anne asked and Marcy covered her mouth with the back of her hand and glanced away.
.
"Anne… you"
"Me" Anne smiled
"You're REALLY pretty…" Marcy blushed and Anne felt greatly amused by seeing the girl in such a flustered state.
"Thanks… you're not so bad yourself.. just my type, handsome and cute" Anne blushed slightly eyes shining when she did another double take on Marcy.
The two made eye contact and then started to laugh at themself and how much of a mess they made each other.
Marcy would next place her hand in Anne's
"I'd love to dance with you Anne"
The two would then dance the night away, eating and feeding each other snacks and gushing about how amazing the other looked.
It was perfect and they couldn't be more satisfied and happy with how things have turned out for them, no matter what they knew they would last and felt prepared to develop their relationship for years to come and face all possible problems together.
They were happy and looking back at all their memories and years of being friends they could see how much of a fool they had been for not realizing their feelings for each other sooner.
But they didn't mind they were together now and nothing could tear them apart.
