Chapter Text

She woke up on shore. Or well, on the side of the river.

She was alone and very cold. Maybe not as cold as she was last night, but with the water still soaked on her clothes, she was freezing. She was scared and worried. Was Christa okay? Was Lee okay? She didn't know. She got up from where she was laying and looked around. "Hello?" It echoed.

She walked along the path, looking for something or someone. She found a canoe that was probably used for a nearby summer camp. She continued on her search when she found the dock. It was too high for her, but she tried to jumping to grab ahold of the wood. She was able to grab on and with enough upper body strength, she pulled herself up.

She walked up some stairs and looked into the woods. "Christa? Lee? Are you guys there?" Nothing. She sighed. She assumed the worst, she couldn't help it. But she couldn't give up. She headed inside the woods. 'Maybe they're okay and I'll find them!' She thought as she followed the trail.

She was alone. She was scared. She saw a sign that had a warning about animals in there, but she just kept going. The breeze was strong. It sent shivers down her spine. She was so cold. She needed to find someplace warm.

She stopped and looked around. Everything was exactly the same. She didn't know where to go. There were some rustling in the bushes, her heart sped up. She was shaking. Clementine walked, slower, more observing.

Some crows flew by, but they didn't attack so that was good.

She gasped as the bushes started to rustle again. She thought it was a walker, but to her surprise, she found a dog. It looked at her and made his way over. It seemed hostile at first. But she calmed him down with, "It's OK, boy...it's OK..." Clementine slowly moved backwards but stopped. The dog barked at her.

She checked his collar, seeing the name 'Sam' on it. She smiled and noted that. Sam growled at whatever he heard and trotted over to the long grass. "What's he doing?" She asked herself. Sam looked back at her before running into the grass and bushes. "Hey, what'd you find, Sam?" The dog kept barking. "What's wrong?" She followed him through the grass and found a camp.

"Hello?" She called out. But nothing. She was surprised no walkers had attacked her yet. Sam moved away from the grass and into the camp. "Looks pretty runover...but you never know." Clementine said. Her stomach grumbled as a sign of her stomach needing food.

"Let's have a look around." She said. Sam just walked right passed her. She searched through the camp. She checked the rusted van to find a family photo. "They seemed like a happy family...hope they left some food..." Clementine put the picture back where she found it and continued her search for food.

She saw a trash can swarming with flies and she sighed softly. Regretting the thought she had. But she had to check everywhere. She exhaled and made her way over to it. "Well, here we go..." she rolled up her sleeves and checked the garbage, disgusted by the smell and feeling of trash on her hands.

She found a can of beans and smiled. "Oh my God..! Thank you." She turned to Sam and presented the can to him. "Look, a can!" She joyously said. Sam barked. "Now I just need something to open it.." she looked down at the can again and put it in her back pocket.

Sam barked and ran over to a tree. "Hey, boy, what's the matter?" She asked him. He growled and barked. "Sh! We have to be quiet!" She scolded. But he didn't stop. She saw that he was barking at a walker. It seemed very weak somehow. "It's okay, he's dead." She moved towards the tied up walker to get a closer look. "Look, you can see the bite...looks like he tried to cut it out."

Sam didn't stop at that either. Clementine moved in front of it. The walker slightly reached out. "It's okay, we're smart, he's not." She slightly smiled at him. "We're smarter than all of them." Sam continued barking. "Shhh, it's okay, boy, he can't hurt us." She said.

She tried grabbing the knife but the walker reached for her hand. She quickly moved back. She looked at her surroundings and found a branch nearby. She picked it up and turned to look at the walker again. She breathed in and swung at its head. The walker lifted its head back up and reached out for her again. She swung at its head again.

And again

And again

Then it stopped moving.

Sam barked. "See? We just have to stay out of their reach." She told him. She took the knife from the walker's shoulder and wiped off the blood that was left on it. Her and Sam both went back into the camp and Clementine sat down. "Please don't be bad.." she begged. She stabbed the top of the can (on the side) and did it again to the other side. Then again to the other side. She lifted the can top and grinned at the sight.

"Phew, thank God." She grabbed a handful of beans and ate them. Sam came up to her, panting and giving her a 'please feed me' look. She chuckled. "I guess you're pretty hungry too." She grabbed another handful and moved her hand to Sam's way. "Here you go." Sam then knocked away the can from her other hand and started eating away at the food. "Hey, don't eat it all!"

She took the can away and Sam growled. Bitting into her arm. She yelled out in pain as Sam bit down. Hard. He knocked her down and bit onto her arm again. Clementine punched Sam's snout, trying to break free from his grasp.

After a few hits he let go and as he was going to attack again, she kicked him away. She scooted away, her eyes wide. She couldn't believe it. There were some gurgling and clanging from behind the log she kicked Sam to. She got up and walked to the log to hear some whining.

Sam got caught on something sharp. He was trying to get out but he failed miserably. As she watched it try to break free, she made the choice of killing him. To not let him suffer anymore. She killed Sam by slitting his throat, putting him out of his misery. She silently apologized and she was left alone...

Again

《~~~~~~~~~~~~~~》

Sorry if the ending was rushed. It's basically the same thing as the game, I'm just adding Lee in it. He'll be appearing again, soon I hope. I'm just trying to figure out when and how.

-Sam
