Chapter Text
Sara
Sara would lie if she said that she didn’t feel bad about not telling Simon that it was August who leaked the video. He had found out eventually though so it wouldn’t have made the biggest difference tho, would it? Either way Sara thought that it would be smarter and better to just not say anything regarding that whole thing. She would get to live at Hillerska now which was all she wanted. A small part of her was also pleased with the fact that she would be close to August now. There was something about him that she liked, something she understood. She didn’t know how Simon would react if he found out about them being a thing… Hopefully he would understand.
He had understood why she wanted to move to Hillerska. He was a little surprised and worried about how their mom would react when she heard, but overall supportive. He wanted the best for her.
Linda was a mix of emotions. A part of her of course wanted her daughter to be happy and have friends, and if this was the way then so be it. But another part of her was worried and a little scared. She had wanted them to switch schools and go back to Marieberg after the whole video scandal. Neither of them had wanted that tho so she hadn’t pressed it.
But the school was very prestigious and she was worried that Sara would change.
Simon was a little more quiet this Christmas than he had been otherwise. Neither Sara nor Linda blamed him, they supported him the best they could. Sara knew that their mom had contacted the police informing them about the fact that it was August who leaked the video. Simon seemed to be holding back a little which was odd. He had otherwise seemed as if all he wanted was for the one who took the video to get caught.
They had had a nice Christmas even if it was a little different this year. School was starting in 3 days and Sara was excited to move into her new dorm room and meet her new roomate. It was weird knowing that she wouldn’t be spending that much time here anymore. But that weirdness was overshadowed by the excitement she felt.
Wilhelm
It was time to go back to school after a weird holiday. The strangest and toughest part was the fact that Erik wasn’t here to spend it with them. And he never would be again. The thought made Wilhelm tear up as he sat in the backseat of the black car driving towards Hillerska. Another thing that made Christmas weird this year was the tense vibe between Wilhelm and his parents. It was thick in the air when they sat together to have a good time. Wilhelm had tried to make his mom apologize to him for the fact that she had neglected him when choosing August over him. She was unwavering and his father did not do much to show his support to Wilhelm. It was difficult to be Wilhelm this Christmas.
They had had a great talk all three of them together when he came home on the 22th. His parents told him that they supported his relationship with Simon and that they thought that it was good if he made him happy. Wilhelm had gotten a lump in his throat and tears in his eyes during this conversion.
They told him to stay out of trouble and to not cause any more damage. They also told him to not be unfriendly to August. This had made Wilhelm angry. Why did they not understand what he had done to him? Why did they keep on protecting him and not their own son?
These thoughts had been bothering Wilhelm the whole break and would probably continue to.
He looked forward to seeing Simon again. They had called and texted each other during the break but it would be good to see and kiss the other again, Wilhelm thought.
The car he was in was now pulling up in the parking lot to hillerska. He stepped out and was met by cold frosty air and a vivar of life from his classmates and other students saying their goodbyes and inoculating in their rooms.
He would see Simon tomorrow when classes started.
Simon
The person he was looking for was nowhere to be found at the school. He tried to text Wilhelm, asking where he was and immediately got a text back.
S: Where are you?
W: In my room, come I need to kiss you
Simon smiled a goofy smile at the response and set his direction to Wilhelm’s room. Once there he knocked on the door and opened it.
“Wille?” He called out.
Wilhelm twirled around on his desk chair where he was sitting and smiled like the sun “Hej”. He got up fast and embraced Simon. Simon hugged back tightly as always “Hej” he replied. Wilhelm was the first one to let go just to get access to Simon’s lips. Wilhelm’s hand came up to hold Simon’s face while the other rested at his waist. Simon’s hands were still wrapped around Wilhelm not wanting to let go.
In that moment all things were forgotten and it was only them existing, kissing in Wilhelm’s room.
The familiar soft warm feeling on Simon’s lips made his mind go blank, only one thing filling his mind. I love him. It surprised Simon greatly, making him flinch for a second.
“What?” Wilhelm asked.
“Nothing” Simon tried to pretend like nothing. “Just happy to see you” He smiled. Wilhelm smiled back, the effect working “I’m happy to see you too”.
The school day went by pretty uneventfully. August was nowhere to be seen which both Wilhelm and Simon were relieved by but also wondering where he was. He did care greatly about his education after all.
Simon kept thinking about the response the police had given them. ‘They would look more into it’, was all they had said. Was Wille right? Could he not be punished when protected by the queen? If so they would have to do something themselves. The question was just what.
“Want to go for a walk?” Wilhelm requested when school was over.
“Yeah, sounds nice”, Simon responded.
They ended up walking along the beautiful frozen lake surrounded by naked trees, the grass crunching beneath their feet as they walked because of the frost that had settled on it. They sat by the shore on a small pier, their legs dangling over the ice of the lake. Simon shuttered.
“Are you cold?” Wilhelm asked with concern in his voice
“I’m alright” Simon said quickly, but Wilhelm had already unwrapped his scarf, placing it over Simon’s shoulders wrapping him up. Simon smiled lovingly at him and leaned up against him placing his head in the crook of Wilhelm’s neck. Wilhelm took his hands between his own, placing a kiss on the top of them. They sat in comfortable silence for a while enjoying each other's company.
“You know it’s ok to ask for help and not always handle everything on your own, right?” Wilhelm asked suddenly. Simon, who was surprised by the change of depth this conversation held, looked up at Wilhelm.
“It’s just that I've noticed that you seem to always hold back and not take what is rightfully yours. You’re always there for everyone, but reject when others want to be there for you.” Wilhelm continued quietly.
Simon could feel his throat tightening. He shrugged.
“You can talk to me”, Wilhelm said, looking into his eyes.
Simon looked down, pressing his lips together in a desperate attempt to not start crying. He hated crying and showing vulnerability to others. “I don’t know, it’s just-” he stopped.
Wilhelm, who was still holding his hands, gave them a squeeze to encourage him to continue.
His voice came out choked with tears, “I just feel like I have to be strong all the time to protect my mom and Sara”. Wilhelm pulled him a little closer. “They’ve been through so much and I don’t want them to hurt. Also my dad…” He stopped again, this time for longer.
“Was that the man who showed up on Lucia?” Wilhelm asked carefully, when Simon didn’t continue. He got a nod in response.
“He um…” Simon bit his lip. “He’s an alcoholic and drug addict” He said in a low voice as if he was ashamed. Wilhelm furrowed his brows and said, “I’m so sorry to hear that, Simon. Thanks for telling me”.
He cuddled further into Wilhelm if possible and looked at him. Wilhelm brought a hand up and wiped a tear away from under Simon's eye. Simon let out a little sad laugh and shook his head. He then proceeded to smash his lips to Wilhelm’s, kissing him hard and desperate. Wilhelm made a surprised sound but kissed back. They swallowed each other's warmth and kissed for a long time.
