Chapter Text

It was now Thursday, AKA smile day for class 3. It was the perfect temperature outside and the day had started off well for Sero and Shoto; they were now cuddling on the couch for the occasion of smile day (they didn’t call it that themselves).

Both scrolling on their phones quietly, the boys had only spent one or two hours apart from each other since last night, when Sero got back to his bed.

Shoto was lying on his side on the common room couch as Sero lay on his back in Shoto’s embrace. He could easily smell the other’s natural odor as Shoto’s quirk leveled out the fact that two human bodies produce heat.

It was about 8AM, so they both had gotten up sooner for the sake of cuddle day.

Shoto was always “apprehensive” about Thursdays. Or maybe he just labeled the emotion like that.

Everytime his and Sero’s bodies touched, he could feel some sort of comforting spark, as if he had a third quirk blooming late.

He had actually considered it and done some research on the internet but he didn’t find anything convincing enough to get it checked by a doctor.

Plus, it only happened with Sero.

He tried touching other’s arms or shoulders, men and women, but it didn’t have an effect like touching Sero.

Recently he kind of gave up on trying to find out what it was and just let it happen. It felt very nice all the same. It could put him to sleep in seconds and was always removing negative thoughts from his mind.

It had kind of magical powers?

From Sero’s point of view this was a little more “platonic”. He used his time to relax, yes, but since he was less clueless about his feelings he was trying to keep things platonic (at least in his head).

Moreover this was his favorite day of the week, and he had already started smiling like crazy when he calculated the amount of time he and Shoto could spend together.

Neither of them had training to morning, nor after school, and as it was the only day of the week like that, it was quite exceptional.

Sometimes they went on “friend dates”, as they had once gone to a place with some many trampolines you couldn’t count them. As it was a Thursday, there was no-one else(almost), so they had spent a lot of time alone together that day.

That was Sero’s very favorite day of his life (by now).

Today, though, they didn’t do anything in particular out of helping to set up the party for the next day, as they were celebrating the birthdays right before and during the summer holidays: Toru, Denki, Izuku, Sero, Mina and Ida.

They decided they’d make a party out of school too, but only after Mina’s suggestion of bringing more alcohol to it… Some people in class 3A liked it very much.

That party was to include more people than just 3A, so it was going to be pretty different.

Sero stirred in Shoto’s embrace as he flopped on his belly for a more comfy position. Shoto simply piled up on top of him. Sero enjoyed being “crushed” like this very much, and Shoto was aware of it after all this cuddling.

The day went on as the boys had smiles plastered on their faces.

Aizawa seemed to pick on the Thursday smiles too, because he cast the boys looks that said “what the hell”, for the most part. He was also weirded out by Shoto smiling this often, but along the weeks he understood: Shoto had found someone.

And that wasn’t exactly untrue.

About 20 minutes had passed after the boys changed cuddles positions: people were starting to get down to eat breakfast and get their shit together for the day.

Ochako got down the stairs, still in her pjs but fully awake. Her and Bakugo were going to cook for the class today, as they all took turns. This duo was particularly efficient (unlike Denki and Mina mornings), and the food always tasted really good.

Obviously Sero and Shoto had already eaten, but both of them took a second breakfast when it was ready.
It was just that yummy.

Momo got down the stairs, looking very disoriented as she smelled the boiled eggs from a mile away.

She had stayed up all night thinking about that date with Jirou on Saturday. She guessed that saved her some thinking to do on Friday night.

Jirou welcomed her into the dining room with a wave of her hand and a smile on her lips(including cheeks puffy with food).

Momo sat down, done caring about what she looked like at that very moment. She took the plate Ochako gave her with a slightly hoarse “thanks!”.

She took a big bite and swallowed, barely munching, and said “Ochako, Bakugo, this is gold!!”

“Thanks!”
“You better learn from us, Ponytail”, he said back.

Momo’s cooking wasn’t even that bad.

Really.

Jirou giggled at the situation in her glass of juice, which made a funny sound. Momo giggled along with her.

“Something’s different about them”, Mina said to Ochako after their first class.

"Definitely."
***

The class went through their classes apprehensively, as the party dragged a little closer by the minutes that went by. You could hear Mina and Denki whisper about some arrangements that were to be done, including bringing in some alcohol. Now, all of them were aware that this was illegal for some students of the class, especially the ones that were turning 18, obviously.

When they realized that the age had been lowered during the year, Mina and Denki were happy, because Aizawa had changed his rules for alcohol accordingly: it went from “drinking will immediately lead you to house arrest” to “If I catch you drinking, you will get a detention.”

The whole class silently prayed together, during math class, as they hoped for Friday night to be an Aizawa-less evening.

One more obstacle was put in Mina and Denki’s way to alcohol fun: Ida. Not only was he extremely strict on respecting rules, he was also underage himself: his birthday is on August 22nd. He also brought up the argument that exams were coming up.

After math class was Japanese, where they simply looked over the exams and started going with the next chunk of stuff to learn.

Momo kept trying to cross eyes with Jirou. Kyoka was trying to learn while also not ignoring the other completely. Her mind was going 300 miles per hour as she tried to understand and memorize some new, complex Kanji, on the board, all while trying to get why her crush was casting her looks that could very easily be perceived as flirting if from the right point of view.

This was entirely intentional on Momo’s side. She was just so bored at some point. And it’s not as if she didn’t like doing that. Sometimes she’d get rushes of embarrassment while trying to sleep(she’d sound like “Why did I do that. Why did I do that…”).

Once they were allowed to team up to create the assigned revision sheets of today’s class, Jirou rushed to Momo’s desk with many questions etched in her face.

Not about the Kanji.

“Just why were you looking at me like that??”, she said, blushing a little itty bit.
“It’s fun”, Momo said plainly. It was deeper than that. She opened her laptop and started typing out what they had to do. Jirou did the same.

Sero and Shoto were sitting as close as it was possible on two separate chairs: their whole legs were touching as they worked silently.

Working with Shoto really helped with Sero’s grades, and therefore his mental health, because he was always affected by those numbers and singular letters in his report card. Somehow Shoto’s studying methods were very efficient with Sero’s brain because he had a better memory in everything he did.

Having a crush on “half-n-half” might have helped him in some way all the same.

His left leg, not the one touching Shoto, twitched and jumped as it was used as his exit of energy.

He hadn’t forgotten to take his pills this morning, but sometimes they weren’t stimulating enough to get rid of the excitement that pulsed through his body: the party was tomorrow, and today was cuddle day.

He couldn’t ask for more.

The class stretched to its end as the students of class 3A put their stuff away and got to their last and remaining class: Hero training.

They went back to the dorm to pick up their stuff for that class and drop off the books. Almost running, they came back to the training area of the school as the class started.

Today was basic: build muscle according to your quirk. All the students had plans for sets of that already. Aizawa wanted something simple but fruitful before the summer holidays.

Jirou set down some cones around the area, trying to make her plugs longer and stretcher while Momo stood next to her, squatting while taking notes on useful formulas to create objects.

Ochaco did simple push ups and sit ups as chunks of rock and ciment floated over and around her body. The ones over her followed her and seemed to move along her body, as if it was pressuring her to do more repetitions. It probably was. This was a very clever way to train her physical strength as well as her quirk power: she tried to lift as many objects in the air as possible.

Sero was very focused as he created tape that was almost unbreakable. He was concentrating, trying to produce as much as he could in a limited amount of time. His current best was 73 meters in 10 seconds. Now, that’s a lot of tape, so he used a machine that rolls them up and counts the length for him.

He sells them on the internet for small amounts of money, which awards him a great amount of pocket money.

Shoto, about ten meters away from Sero, exposed himself in very high and very low temperatures. Sprinting from one corner to another, he produced the opposite temperature of the biome he was in, meaning that when he was in cold temperature, he made fire as hot as he could, and when he was in hot temperature, he made ice as packed and cold as possible.

Jirou changed her technique and now placed tiny little cones in front of her to practice speed and precision. Momo made numerous little plushies, working on production.

She sometimes got distracted by Kyoka’s muscled shoulders as they stayed somewhat still.

***

Today had been exhausting for the whole class as they filled in the common room, most heading for the showers to get rid of sweat from their trained and drained bodies. Some just made themselves a sandwich before going for some supplementary Hero training.

Sero and Shoto not being of the latter group, they both headed for the showers, on the same floor as the common room and kitchen, but went to their respective rooms to pick up clothes to where when clean.

They met up in the boy’s changing room and showers at about the same time as they each chose a shower and undressed inside. Some boys of the class prefered to undress themselves out of the showers themselves(in the changing rooms), as it was more practical, but Sero and Shoto both preferred changing away from other’s eyes.

Momo was part of those who had to eat instead of shower and chill, since she had training. She ate quickly yet still chatted with Jirou about the party.

After Yao was gone, Jirou simply got to her room and changed for cleaner clothes, the ones she spared for after training, as she opened her laptop and finished off the Japanese homework.

That took only a few moments so she went ahead and did a few push ups on the floor(in the middle of clothes), before stretching to avoid being too sore.

She executed a few yoga poses and breathed consciously like it’s suggested. She realized a few months ago that it actually helped her level out some thoughts and take a break. It was kind of fun, too. I mean, anything is fun when you listen to Vocaloid while doing it(out of math).

This was a very relaxing night since tomorrow was the last day of school and all exams had been done in the previous days.

Jirou could hear people talking and moving around one the floor below hers as they set up the party for the next day. She decided she was going to help out a little after yoga since Momo was only coming back in about an hour and a half.

She rolled up her yoga mat and wiped the sweat off her forehead and headed for the elevator.

“Heyy, Jirou, wanna help us?”, asked Mina, almost falling off the stool she was on.
“Yeah!”
Jirou headed next to Mina to avoid any unpleasant accident.

The room already looked magnificent as Mina, Jirou, Denki, Sero and Shoto set up some cool decorations. They were going to finish tomorrow night, but this was a good beginning. Luckily they didn’t have to go get beer at the alcohol store(they would’ve been caught by UA security), as Momo’s quirk could produce some after looking up possible chemical formulas of it.

Originally they were going to find a better solution, but Yao was the one to say she could do that so they said yes.

***

Birds sang outside Jirou’s window as she woke up, her mind rather immediately clearing out of sleep remembering that the party was tonight.

Getting out of bed, she checked the time: it was 8AM. Kind of soon to wake up, but she most certainly wasn’t the first one to get up of the class as she could hear part of Mina’s words as she directed her little planning team(although Jirou couldn’t hear much; she didn’t understand full words).

“Hey!”, Momo said as she turned to face Jirou, her shirt a little unbuttoned, a sign that she has been creating using her quirk.
“Hi!”, Jirou said, a smile etching itself on her lips. It was only natural. Her eyes filled with worry as she saw the numerous cans on the counter.
“Don’t worry, I’m not making any more than this until tonight.”
“Are you sure…?”Jirou asked, wondering if Momo was forced to do this by a pressuring Mina. Momo understood her question and said a simple “yeah”.

Jirou was right to worry because that was downright illegal.

Probably illegal.

The day went one slowly as the students became more and more apprehensive and excited.

For Jirou and Momo, there wasn’t only the party, but also their “friend date” the day after. Plus the fact that they had only ever seen each other sober, but that went for a lot of people in the class.

Sero was scared he was going to cry if he drank too much, so he made a promise to himself to only drink two beers(max three) so he doesn’t “ruin the mood”.

Shoto basically never drank alcohol.

Momo had gotten drunk a few times with Mina and the gals(which didn’t include Jirou), but it had been a while.

Jirou drank alcohol maybe three times, but never enough for it to get to her system well enough.

***

Class 3A filled out of their last class as normally as possible, all with smiles plastered on their faces.

Aizawa had given them a fatherly speech about not going over your limits when partying(a.k.a. drinking, but Aizawa wanted to keep his job so he didn’t use that term..), but most people fell asleep, mentally at least.

They all filled the common room like they filled out of class. Most people hung around in the couches or helped for a bit as the planning gang finished off the decoration.

Bakugo was in the kitchen, looking at all the ingredients that were out.
“Nerd, you forgot the paprika.”
“Ah! Sorry! I felt like I had forgotten something yesterday…”, Izuku said as he patted down his shorts, searching for money. Bakugo tossed about a thousand yen in his hand.
“Get yourself something if there’s any of it left, and try not to get yourself killed while you run, Izuku”, Kacchan said, placing a kiss on the other’s cheek.

(How ironic.)

Deku smiled and muttered a thanks before rushing off to the door of the dorms to get the paprika. Never misses an occasion to train, that one.

***

The sun set as the class finalized the preparations. It smelled divine in the common room as Bakugo, Ochako and Sato made hot pot. It was the easiest and tastiest meal to make for so many mouths to feed.

Everyone goofed around as Mina tried setting up the old wii to play Just Dance.
After several minutes of struggling and biting back swears, Mina simply declared “we’ll just play off of Youtube.”

This made Denki giggle as he opened the TV and went to Youtube.

***

The party was well started when it was 10PM. The Just Dance on Youtube worked quite well as girls and boys danced the choreography of “Timber”, a classic.

A tipsy Shoto was sitting on a couch, looking a little out of it as he smiled weirdly.

He’s a lightweight.

Well, no surprise, this is his first time drinking.

Another song played on the TV, a Just Dance that was danced alone.

Momo moved her body to the music as she smiled without stopping. A little sweat dripped on her forehead as another fell down her arm, as she was wearing a cute little tank top for the occasion.

Jirou stared at her in awe as the song played on and got to her head. It was Ariana Grande’s song called “positions”. She wouldn’t really listen to this song alone, but it created a good vibe in the common room.

Izuku and Bakugo stared in each other’s eyes as they moved to the beat of the song.

Sero and Shoto laughed in a corner as the latter drank one more sip of his “Yao” beer.

Sero’s emotional situation was stable at the moment.

Momo could feel Jirou’s eyes on her but all she did was do her best to move fluidly along with the music, which made her look like she was having the time of her life.

She pretty much was, too.

Several events happened as the evening became night: Sero and Shoto have been hugging each other for the past 30 minutes, Jirou was now crying in Momo’s arms sitting on the couch, and Ochaco was full-on making out with Tsuyu on the remaining side of the couch.

“You smell good”, said Shoto shamelessly. Sero blushed in the embrace.
“You’re cute”, said Sero.
“I am?”
“You always are.”
Shoto kissed Sero’s neck, uttered an “oops” and went up to Sero’s cheek.

He kind of smelled like alcohol but it was relaxing, somehow.

Or maybe Sero was just weird.

***

Mina cleaned up the kitchen as she almost fell asleep on the spot.

Denki was out of it, fainted on the couch, his head laying on Shinzou’s thighs, who had invited himself for the occasion of seeing Denki drunk.

Sero dragged Shoto up to the elevator.
“Can we go in your room, this time?”
“Um…”

Sero was going to say no categorically but the face Sho put on got him persuaded in less than a second: Shoto was smiling lazily, his eyes as sparkly as ever.

They went to the second floor as always but instead of turning right from the elevator, Sero and Shoto turned left and quickly arrived at their destination.

The room was quite tidy since Sero had forced himself to clean it, as he did every week.

Shoto took a deep breath of this odor that filled the room: that same cologne Sero wore the other night.

He just fell asleep.

Sero lifted him with barely any difficulty and put him to bed.

Changing his own clothes, he then slipped into bed next to the other as they did every night. He thought about the alarm, but then tomorrow was the weekend anyway.

Cuddling with Sero, Shoto hugged the other in his sleep.

Mina went back inside her room after seeing what she had to see.

They were definitely dating.

***

Momo and Jirou’s date was going well.

Momo was laughing wholeheartedly as the cat she was petting jumped off her, scared.

Jirou cracked more jokes as she petted a gray kitten asleep on her lap.

Momo very secretly wanted to be that cat-

They had already finished eating a while ago, and Momo was on her third tea.
“Hey do you think Shoto and Sero are dating?”, asked Jirou, wondering if she saw the same things as the other.
“Yeah, I don’t know but they seem pretty close, giving each other little kisses and stuff.”
If she thinks that they’re dating, does she think we’re married?, thought Momo, though she knew Jirou wasn’t delusional.

And it’s not like Yao didn’t want them to act like a married couple.
