Chapter Text
Should I tell everything I remembered?
The question probably didn’t even hold any point, this was from a past life and there was strictly nothing couldn’t discuss in this new life. Yi still wondered because that was quite a new memory, a different kind compared to everything they had so far.
And it included Yasuo.
It seemed to make Yasuo laugh a little, now grabbing Yi instead until it became clear he was aiming to redo what Yi remembered. That was done swiftly, Yi could now feel a hand over his behind.
“Hehe. Sorry, I tried to replay that memory. It must have been funny.”
“Not exactly funny, I guess. I remember what happened afterward.”
“Uhoh.”
He must know already, it’s not hard to connect the dots.
“We had sex, love. Not at the same place but our duel or training, whatever we were doing, it ended with us making love.”
By the surprised face Yasuo made, he in fact hadn’t connected the dots.
“Oh. Like, for real? Damn.”
“Is that so surprising? We knew we were together and quite involved romantically.”
“Hey no, I don’t mean like that. It’s funny but like, I kinda remember we were intimate? Us having sex shouldn’t be shocking, I guess.” At least it amused Yasuo. “You know, I think I was quite horny. I don’t even remember crap but like, I always want to hold you and touch you so I bet I was like that in a sexy way too. I mean, I literally deviated our training session to fuck.”
“Language, love…”
Yi indulged them for once, leaning down enough to kiss Yasuo. It was interesting because he knew he had been in that exact position doing this same thing, ready to give his soulmate some love.
This memory was quite welcome, it wasn’t about killing any loved one and in fact it gave them some useful information about their shared life.
We trained and we had sex. Good.
Now Yasuo touching his bottom took another meaning, although at that point it didn’t bring any kind of desire or arousal. That was what made this so interesting. Many gestures and habits from their mortal lives remained by muscle memory, these were a solid way to remember many things. However, they were now immortal, free from the limits of the flesh. There was no need, no desperation and no arousal.
…I think I miss that.
Yi could sense that something was missing. He kissed Yasuo tenderly and felt that this would have elicited a bodily reaction, a chain of small events leading to them having tender sex in private. This had made him want Yasuo and yet Yi felt none of that.
It was a bit sad, thinking about it further.
Perhaps Yi shouldn’t feel that way.
They would have each other forever, there would be no solitude anymore and they were free to exchange affection, talk and share their respective burdens. They were allowed to stay in love in the after-life.
Like this we cannot experience mortality but I wonder if we could find ways to get intimate.
I would love to give him more.
For now kisses and caresses would do more than well.
This wouldn’t end there for Yasuo. He had since moved on from touching Yi in places not very appropriate if there were still mortals and living in some kind of society. Instead Yasuo had pulled him even lower until he could hug Yi and hold him tightly in his arms, smiling in their kiss.
Aww my dearest…
That told more than enough about Yasuo’s opinion on all this.
Yi let himself get carried away, exchanging affection was one of the few things certain to make him happy in this new life.
What a life indeed. Gods roaming freely universes in the snap of a finger, able to create from nothing and blessed with the biggest gift ever, their soulmate. Now lying down in the tender grass of some far mountain in a hospitable universe they both found to feel like home.
Immortal and yet feeling so human.
Yasuo chuckled at some point, without Yi being able to guess what was on his mind. He played with Yasuo’s long hair, taking off the few leaves that had been caught in their innocent exchanges. No wonder why, the wind had picked up, leaves rustling peacefully with it.
…The wind.
Wait, what is that?
It sounded familiar, now that Yi thought about it. There was something about the wind, be it a breeze or something stronger. It was so soothing, Yi first shrugged it off as some other near memory of a human but he felt like he was missing something.
He remembered the violence of the wind in the battlefield and yet going with it like it would never hurt him.
Calm most of the time but able to unleash the biggest storm.
That sounded a lot like Yasuo, Yi wasn’t imagining things.
Truly this day he was uncovering a few mysteries. It was worth pointing out to Yasuo, to check if perhaps Yi’s intuition was good. Yi was sad about ending the kiss but hopefully it would be worth it.
“…Love? I apologize, I just got an idea. Well, a hypothesis.”
“Oh…? Yeah, tell me?” The effect of love was so dear on Yasuo, making him so obviously soft.
“What about the wind? Maybe I’m completely wrong but I remember making some poetic associations about you and the wind. …Could that be this little something you’re missing until now?”
I hope I’m not wrong.
No one would die if he was but Yi would rather be right, just because it would mean having found the explanation to Yasuo’s missing power. However Yasuo looked at him in quite a mix of emotion, perhaps surprise, perhaps confusion.
“…No? Sorry, I thought it was familiar. It’s silly but I vaguely remember a few words. …Death is like the wind-”
“Always by my side. Oh…”
Ah. It had a second part.
And now it all became true, Yi wasn’t imagining things.
Yasuo looked as shocked as him, hand frozen where it was rubbing Yi’s face with care.
“I… I think I remember something, yeah… Oh fuck.”
It all came back.
The sound of flute carried by the wind, a breeze barely moving his hair, steel cutting with the violence of a tempest.
Not surprising at all. It just sounded like Yasuo.
They stared at each other, both registering what had just become extremely clear. That was the missing piece of the puzzle, one of many and a very important one at it.
Yi couldn’t believe it.
Neither was Yasuo, quickly taking him for a kiss. It tasted like new joy and relief, so glad to be finally complete.
