Chapter Text

War spares no one. Even if you are just an innocent person walking home to your family, or a soldier fighting for what you know is right.

It spares not even the innocent, and so is Cale.

Cale killed everyone he both know and didn't know in his range of sight. All under his own actions and the command of his former enemy, White Star.

The White Star laughs jovially as he watches the despair on hie enemies' eyes. The way fear and anger swirled with the said emotion, he continued to laugh and laugh.

"Ah, my child. You came back."

He looks at Cale who only bows his head robotically, his reddish-brown eyes devoid of life.

"I'm back, my liege."

The White Star could see how Eruhaben's eyes widen in shock when he saw Cale beside him. The way he wants to scream his name to snap him out of the brainwashing from the demons.

Eruhaben knew he can't do anything about it, he knew he's useless when it comes to the business of the Divine Race and Demon Race.

"Eruhaben-nim!"

Jack screams as he ran towards the ancient dragon, not minding his little sister who only looked at him like he's insane for running straight to a battlefield when he's just a healer.

The saint holds the ancient dragon's shoulders, a firm gaze was sent as Jack gritted his teeth.

"We'll get him back, I promise. Just distract him and not let the others attack him, just enough so that I can go close to him."

It would be easy to say, but hard to do. Even if the White Star is alone and most of his troops are already dead and his backup may come anytime, the redhead can just stand still and let Cale do the work.

Cale is strong enough since he's a dragon slayer and is adept in controlling mana, too adept that he's almost in par with Rosalyn.

Eruhaben dashes forward, aiming at the White Star with rage.

The others did too with anger swirling towards Cale as they tried to attack him. They tried, but Eruhaben deflects all of it and attack the White Star at the same time.

He's in offense and defense at the same time.

"Don't touch the dragon slayer, he's mine."

Dragons are extremely territorial when it came to their possessions, that was the common thing about them and to have a lair full of gold and things they covet.

Eruhaben would hide his child for all eternity if that's what it means that Cale would be out of the harm's way.

Not wanting to confront the rage of the dragon, Choi Han and the others moved to attack the White Star first...for now.

Whilst Cale was busy for deflecting the attacks of the others, he barely managed to dodge the gold spear that aimed for his neck.

There were tears falling from Eruhaben's reptilian eyes. He was scared that he actually decapitated the man if not, he dreads the next actions he'll do to distract Cale.

It hurts him.

Cale stares at him with an empty look, black and gray mana alike swirling in both of his sides before lunging at the ancient dragon.

Bloodlust. Eruhaben could feel Cale's bloodlust towards him once again.

Eruhaben wishes that the war would end already, he wishes that Cale would come back to him, to them, to his family.

Missing a few members, it was still a family that gathered under Cale's influence.

Eruhaben screams with every attack, wishing to the Gods that Cale would dodge, that he would not hurt him.

And soon enough, Jack managed to get close in time as Cale kicked Eruhaben away with a leg infused with gray mana.

Cale is still feeble.

Jack placed his hands atop the white mask, covering Cale's eyes as he stilled.

The cries deafened as Jack continues to cover Cale's eyes from behind, the bloodlust Eruhaben felt was calming down.

Jack removes his hands, he called, "Young Master Cale."

Cale looks at him with still empty eyes, but there was acknowledgement.

"Jack-nim...you didn't have to do that." Cale mutters, facing the saint.

Jack was pushed several meters away from Cale, it took him by surprise as the blonde could hear his sister's screams.

Cale appeared in front of Jack again, silver shield protecting the saint.

"I was never under the influence." Cale says as he kicked Jack again, the attack never meeting Jack because of the silver shield that was protecting him.

Jack's eyes widened.

It was all an act. Cale Henituse was acting that he's brainwashed, all so he could attain his plan.

"Jack-nim, look after them for me."

He was kicked away again before Hannah went and attacked Cale.

Jack looks at them with a dazed and flabbergasted expression, a foreboding sensation washing over him.

'What was he planning...!'

"...No way..."

Realization hit him as he watches Hannah attack Cale endlessly, the clues fitting together in a complete puzzle piece as he searched for the ancient dragon.

"Eruhaben-nim!"

As if Eruhaben had read his exact thoughts, he runs straight forward to where Hannah and Cale is.

Eruhaben deflects Hannah's sword, protecting Cale as everyone watched in confusion.

Why was the gold dragon protecting a dragon slayer? Why was he protecting a man who killed hundreds, possibly thousands of lives the moment he laid his eyes at them? Why was he protecting the man who hurt Jack? Why was he protecting the man who almost killed Alver, Ohn and Hong?

Just why?

"Eruhaben-nim...just why are you protecting him?" Rosalyn asks in a pleading tone, remembering the fact that the said man was the same who killed a dragon and ate their hearts.

But the fact that they don't know Cale never wanted it, it just makes Eruhaben plunge into silence.

"Eruhaben-nim, back away." Choi Han growls like a madman.

But Eruhaben just covered Cale with his own body and said in a stern tone, "No."

Choi Han grits his teeth, "Then excuse my rudeness."

Jack knew Eruhaben can't defend Cale for any longer. He knew sooner or later, someone will be bound to get hurt amongst them.

They fight for what they think is right. One fights to protect because he knows the truth, and the other fights for revenge.

Hence, the other should also know the truth and thus;

Jack screams at his loudest voice, tears trickling down from his eyes.

"Young Master Cale!!!"

And as he expects, they all stop as some looked at Jack in bewilderment.

He continues his screams, he's making sure that everyone will hear him loud and clear.

"Young Master Cale! Please! Stop this already!"

Jack knows his next words will hurt, but he still continues.

"I'm sure Raon-nim wouldn't like it when he sees you like this! Lark...! Crown Prince Valentino...hic..."

He swallows the lump that was forming in his throat as he stared at those reddish-brown eyes that were shaking.

"Duchess Violan would be hurt to see her son like this, Young Master Cale."

He didn't scream the last words, Jack knows that they heard him loud enough amidst the raging battlefield.

Jack sobbed harder when he saw Cale started crying, when he saw the way he pitifully trembles behind Eruhaben, the way Cale's expression turned into hesitance when Jack finished telling his message.

Cale should stop whatever he was planning, he should stop shouldering all the responsibilities alone and lean on his family.

Cale's allies are strong enough if it is matters regarding about him and his wellbeing.

The white mask that was covering his face started to crack, the tips of his hair that were dyed red were starting to become more visible.

And along with it, Cale's will almost cracked and nearly asked for forgiveness from his family.

Almost.

...almost.

Cale's laughter reverberated throughout, sending chills to those who could hear it as he looks around with a crazed look.

"Stop? Why would I, little saint? It's not like I'm still the Cale Henituse you know."

Cale Henituse has always been a good actor.

"The Cale Henituse you know is dead!"

Black and gray mana swirled together, his teeth becoming sharper again as his arms were dyed black.

"He is dead the moment he ate the black dragon, the child whom he saved from that cave!"

Horns grew in both sides of Cale's head. In his overall appearance, he looks like a dragon but at the same time, a chimera monster.

"Do tell me if you really think I'm the Cale Henituse you know, will I hurt the gold dragon in front of me? Or no?"

Gold dusts flew everywhere as it tied Cale's wrists away, Eruhaben growls as he glared at the latter.

"Stop this nonsense you unlucky bastard and undo this form at once!"

Eruhaben painfully knew this form, both from books and experience alike.

The form Cale is in right now, was a form that only dragon slayers could do and attain after they eat a dragon's heart.

"Hoho? What would you do if I don't, Eruhaben-nim?" Cale asks in a mocking tone, he then leans in and whisper to the dragon's elven ears.

"You should've killed me when I asked you to, Eruhaben-nim." He softly whispers, his tone lacing with sadness.

Cale thrusted his hand at Eruhaben's abdomen, his inked arm dripped with blood as a hole formed in the gold dragon's body.

Eruhaben chokes in pain as he coughed out blood, the screams from Rosalyn and the others were drowned out by the ringing of his ears.

Yet Eruhaben didn't care about his injury, he doesn't care if Cale would tear his limbs if he wants so, he would let his child do it.

As long as Cale would undo his form, he would sacrifice his life for it to happen.

"Cale...please...undo your form..."

Just like dragons, elves, mages, and those who can control mana, they can attain more power if they wish for it. The only price to pay would be their own lives.

Mana explosion.

Cale, as a dragon slayer, is in the state of mana explosion. Eruhaben knew because he already witnessed a dragon slayer experienced it. A human with the characteristics of a dragon he ate, this is the form they would have in their state of mana explosion.

A monster. A being who defies the natural order.

Cale would die if this continues on.

"Cale-nim!"

The swordsman rushed to reach Cale who retracted his hand from Eruhaben's abdomen. He couldn't believe their words, it was as if he was dreaming all of what is happening right now. As if it was impossible for such thing to happen.

But alas, the pain and grief is real.

Choi Han knew after several moments of looking at Cale. He wants to punch himself for ignoring the clues he saw, the way Eruhaben protects him like he is precious, the way Jack would rush in the battlefield even when he can't fight.

All for it because of Cale.

And Choi Han knew if he was in the place of Eruhaben, he would hide Cale's deranged state too.

Choi Han was too blinded by his despair and grief from the death of innocent people he knows. But he knew he can't blame Cale, he knew that but...

Choi Han can't explain the overflowing emotions he's feeling.

"Ah, the most ever loyal knight. Are you here to kill me too?"

Cale laughed as he avoided Choi Han's reach.

"Go on, run wild! It'll be more fun to kill you when you are blinded by emotions!"

The White Star watches in amusement, he relishes the look of despair in Cale's allies as the said man was running rampant under his command.

Cale backs away from both Rosalyn and Choi Han who was chasing after him. He even runs away even faster when he noticed a vicious old man(Ron) was joining the chase.

The White Star then let Cale seek refuge behind him, he chuckles when he saw Cale's natural instinct to run away in the presence of the assassin.

"You've done well, my child."

Cale looks at him with a blank look before bowing.

"Of course, my liege. It's amusing enough to see them like that."

Cale hid his black arm from behind, his knuckles coiling into fists as he grits his teeth.

The White Star hums, content as he scans the destruction his child had created.

"You overdid yourself again."

"It's not that much, my liege."

Hoarse screams continued to call for Cale as the White Star listens with mirth. He then glanced at the dragon slayer he created.

"They're calling for you."

"Why? Would you let me kill them if I asked to?"

The White Star laughs in disbelief, a tear falling from his eye from cackling too much.

"Go on, kill everyone you want." The White Star says before looking in front of him once again.

Cale's lips tugged upwards, forming into a smirk.

"As you wish, my liege."

Everything felt like it happened in slow motion, Choi Han's eyes widen as Eruhaben's screams towards Cale drowned.

Their focus is on Cale who stabbed himself in the heart, a dagger forming the moment he takes back the branch he used to pierce his heart.

He then used the dagger that was coated with his own blood and stabbed the White Star from behind, he stabbed where the reincarnator's largest annual ring was.

The White Star was caught off guard with that action as he still have the strength to attack Cale with his arms. He could feel his body slowly disappearing to nothing but dusts.

It was a different feeling from all those he felt when he repeatedly died. So different that it brought dread to the White Star's being.

Because once he dies this time, he knows he'll never reincarnate ever again.

"Did you really think they wouldn't kill you one way or another?" He mockingly taunts.

Cale tilted his head as he snarled, "You still have the strength to yap around?"

The White Star snorts as he glares at the dragon slayer he created.

"I know that they will not kill me even when I did those." Cale says in a confident manner.

He smiles mockingly as he watches the White Star crumble away. Cale then leaned in to whisper something in his ears, making the redhead looked at the crazy man in front of him.

"You sick bastardㅡ!"

"Sick? You made me like this my liege. You controlled me like a doll and now you're calling your creation a sick bastard? You injure me, father."

The White Star could feel his remaining skin crawl and for the first time, he's scared at the thought process of the man in front of him.

"I will raze this planet until nothing is remained, I will kill everyone just what you trained me to do whether it were the the Gods or the Demons. You were just the beginning, my liege."

That was the last words White Star had heard from Cale Henituse before disappearing to thin air.

Of course what Cale had said was just a lie. It was amusing enough that the White Star was scared just because of those words.

Cale cracks the stiff joint in his neck, the scales already reaching his neck as he looked at his allies.

"Now then, shall I uphold my last part of the deal?" He mutters before the sound of gunshot echoed.

Cale tilts his head back from the impact, a seering pain stinging in his forehead as he could feel the white mask break apart completely.

He sighs as he fondly smiled a little before it turned into a mocking one.

"Aigoo, hyung-nim. Is that a proper greeting to your dear dongsaeng?"

He looks at Alver whose Taerang was aimed at him. The wind blew as the remaining bits of the white mask evaporated, fully freeing his mind from the demons inside his head.

There are no voices screaming at him to do immoral acts.

Cale was truly grateful for it. Atleast in his last moments, his head would be peaceful and silent.

Choi Han, Alver, and literally everyone else could see his hair returning to its vibrant shade of red. Cale of course, notice this too as he touched the tip of his hair with a pensive look.

"Human! If you were from the same place as good Choi Han, does that mean your hair was also black?"

Raon looks at his guardian who lazily looks at him with a pondering look before answering.

"Mm, I had black hair too."

Raon gapes as he imagines the look in Cale's appearance, though it felt wrong for thinking like that so he mindlessly spit out the next words that was supposed to be reserved in his thoughts.

"But human, red hair suits you the most." Raon mutters before covering his mouth. Cale looked away while hiding the small smile he have.

"Indeed, red hair suits me more...isn't that right, Raon?"

No one answered him.

Cale takes a good look one last time as he engraved the scene in his mind. The war had ended, but the citizens didn't scream in triumph.

That was because Cale Henituse is still alive.

But he's not the same Cale they know.

He's not the Hero Young Master Silver Shield anymore. He's nothing but a villain who betrayed his own motherland and became a monster.

Looking at his black arms, it justified the hostile looks he's receiving.

He's a monster, both in appearance and actions he did.

Then, a monster should rightfully die at the hands of the heroes.

Cale runs toward to where Alver is.

'Hyung-nim...dodge...'

"Cale Henituse!" Eruhaben screams as he tries to intercept the attack, but someone had already did as Cale hid his smile again by looking down.

"Insolence! Not only you betrayed your own home, your own kingdom! But you also dare to kill the crown prince?!"

Zed bellows as he looked at Cale peacefully, knights bared their swords and spears to the redhead as the mages confined him into ropes of mana.

Cale doesn't budge when he was being chained down, he doesn't look when Choi Han tried to attack the knights for tying his liege down.

"Your Majesty! Pardon my rudeness but what are you doing?!"

Alver never dared to raise his voice against his father, the king of Rowoon. But he defied the rule he always upheld when it comes to Cale, to his sworn brother.

"Release him! This is an order!" Alver screams, not minding the healing wounds he still have that was aching painfully.

The knights looked at each other, hesitant.

"You dare question my authority, Alver Crossman?"

Just as Alver was about to scream yes, he questions and defies the King's authority and rule, Cale spoke in a nonchalant tone.

"Your Majesty." Cale speaks, successfully cutting of Alver for doing something that will ruin his image as the next king.

Zed just looks at Cale with a blank expression before sighing, deciding to uphold his part of the deal.

"Cale, the traitor who betrayed and killed the citizens of the kingdom, I hereby declare a punishment."

"The moment you declare me the criminal, don't include my family name."

The Henituse's are innocent. Only Cale will be the traitor, such he will abandon his last name.

He will not be the Cale Henituse who protected, but the Cale who killed thousands as he razed his motherland to the ground.

He will be remembered as the dragon slayer, the individual who ate his own child and helped the White Star with the war.

Zed wants to stop his next words, knowing too well what pain he'll inflict to Cale's allies.

"Death sentence by the guillotine."

+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+

Cale stares at the small window of his cell, the mana restricting chains clanked loudly with every move he makes.

"Cale-nim. Please tell the King it's not your fault, please tell him what happened...Cale-nim please..."

The redhead looks at the swordsman with soft eyes.

"Choi Han...you know I can't do that."

The raven sobs as he kneels on the cold ground as if he was begging Cale.

"Cale-nim...I'll go insane the moment another person I hold dear will die in front of my eyes, Cale-nim...please...don't leave me too."

Cale never answers him as he closed his eyes tiredly.

Even if Choi Han frees Cale and flee away, the redhead would come back to face and atone for the sins he made.

He'll never ask for forgiveness, but he'll atone for what he had done.

+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+

The news that Cale Henituse will die through a kingdom's decree spread like a wildfire. The previous hero that was protecting them was the one who also killed those he protected.

Many civilians gathered in the plaza, watching as the punishment to the traitor will be carried out by beheading him.

The King stood tall in his seat, looking down as the knights made Cale kneel to the ground and cuffed several mana restricting chains in his limbs.

A swordsmaster was stationed near the guillotine, and several mages and archmage were in charge of keeping out Cale's allies from barging in and taking him away.

There was also an invisible wind that keeps out those who tries to save him, it was Cale's wind ancient power.

"Cale-nim!"

"Cale nya!"

Cale just closes his eyes, not attempting to look at Choi Han, Ohn and Hong. He's afraid that he will break down moments before his death.

He knows it's cruel, making the children watch his death.

So he ignores them, he pleads that they would stop from breaching the wind barrier already. The smell of blood still nauseates him to the core, especially if the blood was his family's.

Cale wants to thank Zed for doing the appropriate measures to stop his whole family from going rampant. He doesn't know how the king did it, but he's thankful for it.

"He's a monster."

Even when his white mask is already gone, the voices still echoed...not from the demons, not from his conscience, but from the citizens who continued to judge him.

"What a cold man."

"He deserves to die."

Cale could distinctly hear a hoarse scream, a familiar voice as the redhead whipped his head on instinct.

"Your Majesty please! Don't kill him, don't kill Cale please...father...!"

Something aches in Cale's heart, like it was eating him slowly.

The crown prince would dare kneel and beg the king to save a traitor.

Zed wants to stop this event, he really wants to, but the firm expression the young Cale gave him when they talked was too noble, reminding him of Jour when they were young.

So for old time's sake, he would let Jour's child tell the last words he wants to say.

"Do you have any last words you want to say?"

An act of generosity, or so the citizens thinks.

Cale tilts his head down, the tears slowly forming in his eyes as he tried not to choke a sob. He then raised his head and made eye contact with Choi Han.

'Ah...'

The redhead bits his lips, his mouth opening as the words flow like his raging emotions.

"그래서 버드 나무 아래에 나를 묻어라. 나를 위해 슬퍼하지 말고, 내 안에 있는 유골을 위하여 슬퍼하여라."

{So bury me under the willow. Do not mourn for me, but for the remains within me.}

Choi Han screams when he heard Cale, when he painfully understood what every word he said from their previous world.

"Cale-nim!!"

There were gashes and wounds already bleeding from how much he tries to reach for Cale. The citizens could only watch with an unknown bitterness in their mind.

"라온이 그의 아버지로서 나 없이 그의 다음 생에서 환생하게 하소서. 나는 그가 내 보살핌 안에 있다는 고통스러운 비극을 피하기를 기도한다."

{Let Raon reincarnate in his next life without me as his father. I pray that he escapes the painful tragedy of being within my care.}

In return, Choi Han answers in their own mother tongue as well.

"나는 라온님이 다르게 생각한다고 확신한다! 당신이 그 동굴에서 그를 구했을 때, 그는 가장 행복했습니다! 당신은 그에게 처음으로 밤하늘을 보여준 사람이었습니다, 케일님! 당신은 그에게 자유를 준 사람이었습니다! 그것은 나에게도 똑같았습니다 ... 당신은 나에게 가족을 줬어, 케일 님 ... 김록수!"

{I'm sure Raon-nim thinks differently! When you saved him from that cave, he was the happiest! You were the first person to show him the night sky, Cale-nim! You were the one who gave him freedom! It was the same for me... You gave me a family, Cale-nim... Kim Rok Soo!}

The citizens couldn't understand the language, but they could understand the emotions that were being shared within those words.

The knight lowered Cale and bared his neck that was full of scales under the blade of the guillotine, but Choi Han's shouts became more urgent and despaired.

"그러니 비극이라고 말하지 마세요! 이생에서 너를 구할 수 없다면, 나는 다음에 너를 찾아 너를 구할 것이다! 우리는 당신을 찾을 것이고, 우리는 다시 가족이 될 것입니다! 우리 모두!"

{So don't say it's a tragedy! If I can't save you in this life, I will find you next time and save you! We will find you, and we will be a family again! All of us!}

It was a promise.

Cale chokes a sob as he did not dare hope.

"Cale Henituse!"

There was another being that is close in reaching him. Close in killing everyone who dares place him under a blade.

"Eruhaben-nim."

The gold dragon was full of wounds, his pristine white robe dyed in his own blood as Cale cries out.

'Back away, don't hurt yourself further more for someone like me, it's not worth it Eruhaben-nim.'

It was as if Eruhaben had read his mind.

"You are worth it, you unlucky bastard!"

There were citizens that already started crying, overwhelmed at the amount of emotions that were being displayed.

Cale smiles for one last time, a small whisper was uttered.

"Thank you for everything."

The blade fell down in one swoop, killing the redhead in one go.

The scales that were supposed to protect him softened the moment he wore those mana restricting chains. That was how Venion managed to torture Raon from his birth, putting a mana restriction collar around the black dragon's neck, then the scales infused with mana will turn into that similar of normal scales.

It was the easiest way to kill him.

+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+

"And the end! What do you think?"

The man looked at the child that was sitting atop his lap, his red hair swaying back and forth as he looks at the book then at the man.

"That's it? There's nothing written whether they found him or not? That's not a happy ending, Choi Han!"

Choi Han chuckles as he ruffled the child's hair, earning a pout as he looked at the blue orbs.

"Indeed, it's not a happy ending. Maybe until today, they're still searching for him, or maybe their hope had already dwindled. No one knows."

The child whines as he tapped the book repeatedly with his chubby hands.

"How about you think it like this, they may have not found the man, but they found his child. Isn't that a nice conclusion?"

The chubby hands stopped from tapping the book as the child became silent.

"Raon?"

Choi Han could hear sniffles coming from the child as he abruptly took a look as Raon was indeed crying.

"It hurts, Choi Han. My chest hurts...why does the man need to wish for something like that? What if his son really loved being within his company? Choi Han, tell me."

The swordsman's hands trembles as he swallowed the lump forming in his throat.

Choi Han just hugged the child who was crying, also wanting to cry as he stopped himself and act strong in front of him.

"What if his child never loathed him for eating his heart? Choi Han...I want to smack the man from behind for thinking such ridiculous things."

There was a single tear that dropped from his eyes as he cradled the redhead in his arms who continued to cry.

After several lifetimes they still haven't found Cale's reincarnation. Several decades, centuries had already passed of searching for a certain redhead, Choi Han and Eruhaben were the only ones that were left as they watched everyone they know go through the cycle of reincarnation.

Everyone reincarnated, except for Cale.

+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+×+

Raon stares at a certain portrait hung on the wall, a melancholic feeling swirling in his chest.

Beside him was Eruhaben and Choi Han, who was always there with him through all of his reincarnations.

"So, this is what he looks like. I've forgotten his face after a long time."

Eruhaben just looks at Raon as he ruffled his black hair.

"What an unfair human. Why won't he just show himself once and for all?"

Indeed, Cale is unfair. He hasn't shown himself for almost a millennia.

Choi Han just looks at the portrait sadly as he let out a long sigh.

The end of their lives are nearing, and they still haven't found Cale.

Raon turned around before bumping into something small.

"Ow..." Came a small hiss.

The three individuals froze when they saw the person that bumped against Raon. It was a small child with vibrant red hair, his reddish-brown eyes shaking in pain as he cradled his arm that was injured from the fall.

"Cale-nim...?" Choi Han whispers as he looks at the child.

"Hmm? You know me?"

Ah.

They have finally found Cale's reincarnation, at the end of their long life.

Cale was really unfair.

Raon trembles as he slowly kneels to look at the child eye to eye.

"Does it hurt? Where's your mother?" Raon managed to ask without his voice cracking.

"Ah, it'll be okay in a few seconds."

And it did, the wound in the child's arm healed in no time.

The child then continued speaking, "Mama says that I can wander around, just be cautious of strangers and run away when I think I meet bad guys."

Raon smiled teasingly, "So why aren't you running away? We're strangers and maybe bad guys too."

The redhead tilted his head, confusion etched in his expression.

"You're familiar though? And I always trust my gut when it says you're good people!"

The three men chuckled in fondness.

Eruhaben then spoke, "My name is Eruhaben. What's your name, little one?"

"Oh! My name is Cale Henituse III! The portrait that was hung on the wall is my ancestor's stepbrother!" Cale says proudly, as if he was happy he inherited the name of the man in the portrait.

"Cale-nim must be proud of his lineage then?"

The little redhead child nods, his face brimming with joy.

"I read in the books that the first Cale Henituse was a hero! While in some, he's a villain..."

The three looked at each other before Raon spoke first.

"Do you want to know your ancestor's real history?"

When Raon's death is near, he would always remember all the lives he's lived through his reincarnations. And at this point of time, he had already remembered it all.

Eruhaben and Choi Han's era is nearing its end, and they have finally found the redhead after centuries of searching.

In this small amount of time they have left, they plan to tell Cale all he wants to know about the first Cale Henituse. They will spend their remaining time with the little redhead as much as possible.

"Really? Will you tell me information that isn't written in the history books?"

Maybe in their next lives, they would have enough time.

"Yes, we'll tell you everything you wish to know."

Maybe in the next, they will all be together again.

"Thank you!"

In their next lives, they will be completed again.

Maybe the Gods would take pity in their tragic fate.

Maybe.

Eruhaben softly smiles as he picked up the redhead and carried him in his arms, earning a melodious chuckle as they talked amongst themselves.

Raon strayed behind as he looked at the portrait one last time before running towards the rest.

"Goldie Gramps! Good Choi Han! Human! Wait for me!"

Fin.
