The process of gardening was therapeutic and calming. Whatever the reason, being amidst the beautiful and lively plants was a fun and rewarding experience. Flowers added a splash of color blanketing the grey clouds of gloom and dejection. The air had a whiff of baked-apple smell that marked the sign of growing plants and Hanji was drinking in the scent to wipe off the sadness that was sucking her soul. Standing amidst the long-stemmed daisies that were nodding their heads in delight, Hanji attempted to tame her raging heart. Wiping her snotty nose, she patted the daisies, pouring her heart out as she recounted her story. The sun-kissed daisies dancing in sync, bobbed their heads as if answering to Hanji’s plight. A puff of breeze tickled the petals, jostling the stems as they danced to the tune of the blowing wind, whispering sweet nothings in Hanji’s ear, soothing her pain. But, Hanji’s heart was like the petals of a withered flower that had no place in Levi’s heart. Sitting cross-legged, she repotted a plant as she noticed it had outgrown the pot, roots bringing out a crack to the pot that once nursed it to life. Similarly, Hanji’s feelings for Levi had outgrown his heart that leaving her in pieces, and crushing her happiness.
Placing the plant in a much larger pot, she potted the plant and it happily swayed. She named it Sawney, and patted the soil after feeding it with sprinkles of water.
‘’You know Sawney, unlike my heart that withered into thousand pieces, I hope you blossom and add more to sunshine’’, she whispered.
‘’My love for Levi is blossoming like the flowers in spring but he stomped it’’, she huffed, a tear threatening to escape from her hazel eyes.
Her fascination for plants helped her in soothing her pain.
After screening the major part of the campus, Levi directed himself to the other abandoned part that was now being used as a nursery. Levi had a hunch that he might find her over there and he hastened to meet her. Everything was utter chaos and he had to talk to her to clear all the misunderstandings. He had unknowingly fucked up and had made her cry.
He sprinted along the length of the aisle that led to the deserted nursery. Other than the gardener, mostly no other soul visited the secluded spot. Levi imagined that Hanji might be the only other person on the entire campus that willingly would spend time in the flower garden. Their friendship had grown over time and he had a definite feeling that she will be there, giving warmth and sunshine to the thirsty plants.
He crept inside the nursery, inching slowly only to find her sitting cross-legged and repotting the plant. A soft smile painted his face as he stared at her, enjoying the view that unfolded in front of him. For him, she was like a curious child, an excited teenager, and a babe in his arms. Hanji was like the treasured daisy that radiated all the warmth and painted his monotone life with vibrant colors. Their conversations flowed like a river, taking form into various stories and he would always lend his ear. Her voice was a welcoming distraction that would soothe all the worries and
Her childlike innocence captured his heart as it was free from all the pretense. His straightforward nature appreciated her genuine personality, making him fall for her. There was nothing superficial about her and this quality was endearing.
He noticed her wiping her snotty nose with those mud-caked hands, unknowingly smearing the mud on her nose. It was gross yet it was attractive in its own way. Ohh, he loved her.
As he slowly approached her, he heard her saying,
‘’My love for Levi is blossoming like the flowers in spring but he stomped it’’.
He noticed a tear escape her hazel eyes that mirrored various shades of brown in the sunlight. Her eyes were like two cups of coffee in a cloud of milk and there was no place for tears. And yet, she was crying because of him. He felt a sudden tug in his heart seeing her cry and he had to mend things.
‘’You look like shit’’, he mentioned, sneaking up on her.
‘’Ahhhhh’’, she yelled and her body jostled as if she was caught red-handed doing something illegal.
‘’And, You easily get scared’’, he added, wiping her tear-stained cheeks with his thumb. This act startled her as she didn't expect him to be here and doing this. She backed away, bringing some distance between them.
‘’What are you doing here’’, she asked him, her tone laced with dejection.
‘’I could ask you the same thing’’, he asked, crouching next to her.
‘’I love spending time here. You would have known if you had ever paid attention to my blabbering’’, she mentioned with a hint of mockery.
‘’I am paying now’’, he said, bringing his face close to hers. This close, he could count the dotted freckles that painted her cheeks, like a constellation of stars twinkling. Eyeing her closely, he noticed the pinkish freckles dusting her beautiful face, elongated neck, prominent clavicles, and her cleavage. He took a huge gulp of air to reduce the building excitement within.
She gaped at him, blinking her big doe eyes that were accentuated with her long hazel-colored eyelashes. He could see the dampness in her eyes and he went on to wipe it.
She couldn't decipher his behavior after the morning scenario. ‘’Why are you doing this Levi’’, she thought to herself. Without a second thought, she hastily got up.
‘’It's getting late, I will be leaving’’, she said, directing herself towards the door.
Levi grabbed her hand, yanking her down in full force.
‘’Ufff’’, she landed on her butt. She was about to give him an earful but she found his steel grey eyes penetrating through her hazel ones.
‘’Are you avoiding me?’’, he asked, his gaze never leaving hers. His grip on her wrist tightened as she tried to wriggle. Searching for the answer in her crestfallen eyes that was only filled with dejection. He knew she had heard but wanted her to talk about it. He had been constantly trying her number since morning but there was no response from the other side. She had been avoiding him continuously and this didn't go well with him.
‘’Let me go, Levi’’, she whined. ‘’Don't you need to go somewhere else’’, she asked.
There it was. The cat was out of the bag.
The feeling of jealousy like a vicious snake had taken over and she didn't know how to react. She didn't want to be vulnerable in front of him and yet she was.
'’I don't think so’’, he whispered, breathing down her neck that gave her goosebumps. He noticed the tiny strands of hair reacting to his voice, making him smirk.
‘’Where do you think I should be?’’, he questioned, his deep voice tormenting her. Was he doing it on purpose? That cunning bastard.
‘’I don't know Levi’’, she writhed in his gasp and he secured his arms around her stomach, tightening his hold. He was definitely doing this on purpose. Another wriggle and he had tightened his grip further.
From an outsider's point of view, their seated position was not completely but immodest. Hanji was seated on him and he had his arms and thighs intertwined with hers to curb her movements. Pressing her thighs with his to keep her steady.
‘’Well, this is the cue for you to stay back with me’’, he breathed again down her neck.
She twisted and turned in the continuous effort, veering alternately right and left to break free from his grasp. However, this action was having the opposite effect on him.
‘’Hanji’’, he croaked, ‘’I didn't know you were good at grinding’’, he teased.
‘’Gahhhh’’, she screamed, covering her face with her palms. Levi felt like letting out a hearty laugh seeing her embarrassed but he settled with a smug look on his face.
The temperature of the room had risen as the proximity of their bodies emitted heat. Realizing their closeness, Hanji distanced herself, making an attempt to free herself from his arms. The sudden proximity had made the butterflies in her stomach go wild yet she was facing inner turmoil. Those words that Levi had uttered bothered her to the core. Elbowing him, she wrestled in his grip to make a run but he snatched her glasses.
‘’Leviiiiiiii’’, she grumbled, tackling him to take back her glasses. Her poor vision and his lightening fast reflexes didn't help her in retrieving her spectacles. They were squabbling.
‘’Give me back my glasses, Levi’’, she shouted. ‘’Why do you want this greasy, reeking person near you’’.
‘’Shitty Glasses’’, He flicked her forehead to stop her from shouting.
‘’I know I am shitty, You have made it quite obvious’’, she mentioned and started crying.
‘’You heard it right ?’’, he whispered softly.
Ignoring his question, she turned to him and said, ‘’Fine, Don't bother to give my glasses. My vision is good enough for me to retrieve an extra pair in my room.’’
Tears escaping her eyes, she hastened to leave. A tight grip and rough pull led her into his arms, making her shriek. He squished her cheeks which appeared to be chubbier, forcing her lips to pucker. Suddenly, his lips were on hers as he gave a light peck to shut her up. Grazing his lips, he nibbled softly on her lower lips which sent shivers down her spine.
‘’You got it all wrong’’, he mentioned while sucking, feeding her dry lips with wet kisses. She was stunned by his act, her mind all bonkers. He parted, a string of saliva still attached to their lips.
‘’What are you doing, Levi’’, she badly stuttered, her cheeks deep crimson. Heat pooled near her nether regions as he lazily stroked her lips with his fingers.
‘’What am I supposed to’’, he went for another one. His tongue ventured inside further and further, encouraging her to open her mouth. Stroking her tongue, he deepened the kiss while he squeezed her buttocks which elicited a loud moan. Sexy
‘’I know you heard everything but you totally misunderstood’’, he continued. ‘’I was referring to Petra. She smothers me with her overly sweet behavior and I find it odd. Her sweet behavior is a facade and I cannot put up with her antics.’’
She gave a fake laugh and he flicked her forehead to make her listen.
‘’Are you kidding me ?’’ she asked.
This statement infuriated him as she didn't believe him. He pressed her nose tightly making her squirm.
‘’Levi, Leave me’’, her nasal voice sounded as though she was speaking through a clogged-up or leaky nose.
‘’First Listen and then comment’’, he said, stroking her nose lightly.
‘’What about the words greasy, reeks, and all that? You always urge me to be well-groomed and clean. What about this’’, she asks, innocence dripping.
‘’Have you noticed the amount of perfume she applies? She literally bathes in it. It's so much that I can literally smell her before I see her.’’
‘’How would I know? You seem to be interested in smelling her.’’, she adds.
‘’She literally reeks with the strong odor and it chokes me. And regarding being greasy, I was referring to the amount of makeup she applies. Sometimes, it feels like it will peel off layer by layer.’’
‘’Seems to me, you observe every inch of detail about her.’’
‘’Seems to me, You are jealous.’’
‘’Seems to me, You have a date with Petra.’’
‘’Yes’’
‘’But not with her, With You’’, he mentioned.
She huffed.
Levi face palmed and explained that it was Petra who had whipped up the rumor. ‘’She assumed and announced to everyone that I am going on a date with her. She is an attention seeker and wants to date me because I am the captain of the football team.’’
‘’Don't flatter yourself’’.
‘’I know you are unable to digest the fact. You look more constipated than ever’’, he laughed, taking her in his arms.
‘’Look, I don't want to judge or pass comments on her looks but her attitude irks me. You have never mentioned but I know the way she treats you and I won't tolerate it.’’
She beamed with joy, her hazel eyes shining bright and Levi admired her beauty. Tightening his grip, he pinned her to the wall, beckoning her to wrap her legs around his hips as he lifted her. Grabbing his collar, she pulled him furthermore as their tongue danced in the battle of dominance.
‘’So, I heard your love for me is blossoming in your heart’’, he whispered in between the kisses.
‘’You…. Heard…’’, she moaned as his hands roamed all over her body. Her chest heaved as her head left her breathless with the onslaught of kisses.
Placing her down, he encircled his arms around her shoulders as he placed his head on her chest. ‘’What a soft pillow’’, he mentioned, squishing one of them, making her squirm in his grip.
‘’Levi’’, she chided, bonking him as she blushed furiously.
‘’What, Those are mine, I can squish whenever I want’’, saying this he squished both her boobs, eliciting a loud moan.
‘’I Love You, Levi’’, she whispered softly. ‘’Always been’’.
‘’I have fallen in love with you the day my eyes met yours. Your big doe-shaped eyes have captivated me, Four Eyes’’, he mentioned, kissing her eyes, nose, and lips.
Amidst the aisle of potted plants, they lay there, their bodies entwined. Wet kisses, soft murmurs, and the aroma of baked-apple painted the picture of a blossoming love story as the flowers danced in sync.
They bonded for a lifetime making every moment happily ever after.
