"Can you use the verb ‘gustar’ to make a sentence?"
"Me gustan las flores. (I like flowers.)"
Isobel nodded appreciatively, casting her eyes on Jubal and waiting for his reply.
"Me gusta… el tiempo que hemos pasado juntos hoy. (I like...the time we spent together today.)"
The slightly flushed Jubal made her feel really lovely.
"Okay, we’ve learnt a lot of stuff today, so let's call it a day. Abby has made great progress."
Isobel smiled at Abby, who was organizing her notes.
"Not just me, so as Dad." She looked up at Jubal.
"It’s like returning to decades ago again, only this time I wasn't the same boy who couldn't understand a word and could only do the pen spinning in class."
Abby found it funny how Isobel was one of the few who were made to laugh by her dad’s bad jokes.
Jubal took her purse and walked Isobel to the door. He looked at her dark brown eyes and couldn't help but be fascinated. Isobel looked at the enthralled Jubal as she took the purse from his hand with a smile.
"Any idea of what you want in return?"
"Hmm…Haven’t decided yet, Mr.Genie."
"Well, we’re going to dine out tonight. I know a place that has the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. If you have no other arrangements... welcome to join us."
Isobel chuckled, “I’d love to.”
