Chapter Text
It was painful, a feeling he didn't know existed and a feeling he wished to get rid of. Running away from his home and staying away from his partners was a pain he didn't expect to endure in his life.
He knew if he paid attention to his wishes everything that he has been through would have been in vain so he had to be strong.
At least till he knew he was no longer a menace to them.
He could still recall the night where everything started; how his body twisted and arched against his will, how his throat was sore from all the screaming and his horrifying reflection in the mirror.
That same reflection greeted him the following nights after he ran away and it would always be there every full moon. Sometimes the image of his hands changing before him was the last thing he could remember before losing consciousness and then waking up in a different place.
Somedays he would wake up with dried blood over his body and the remains of his prey.
Everything felt surreal as if everything was a nightmare; not even the pain in his left shoulder, his stomach twisting in hunger, or the aching in his sore feet felt real.
His clothes were a mess; what was once his favorite vest and shirt were now just two pieces joined by threads and his skinny pants now looked like shorts you'd wear to the beach if you liked showing off your skin. He was barefoot and the soles of his feet were dry and dirty.
It has been a while since he took a shower in a decent bathroom, the lakes on his path were his only source of water to drink and to clean himself.
At first, he walked without a destination, he was just trying to get as far away from Feita as possible but after a few weeks of living in these conditions, he realized he should be somewhere where he couldn't hurt anyone but could also experiment with himself, a place to enhance his body and also repair his broken dynamos.
There was only one place that meet those requirements; the abandoned Altera Core in the floating village of Altera.
As soon as he arrived at the abandoned Altera Core he knew if he wanted to work and live there he had to make some repairs to the place first, starting with restoring electricity to the place.
He thought this was going to be a difficult task without having Eve's core to power the palace but he soon discovered that Adam's core could be useful. Despite being damaged, it could function as a temporal power source only powering the vital rooms in the installations.
Next, he recollected materials from the destroyed Nasods laying around and then repaired his dynamos. It was a challenge to repair his dynamos when he didn't have the tools to do so but his hands proved to be enough to do the task.
With his dynamos back in shape, he could do more than what his hands allowed him and it took him only two days to repair the main room in the Altera Core.
After turning on the computers he found thousands of unfinished Nasod projects, blueprints of all the available Nasod Models, and the codes to manage all the devices inside the Altera Core. With this new information, he got able to repair Adam's core and reset its programming to follow just the functions necessary to supply energy to the whole place.
He also learned how to close all the possible exits of the place and set them to close every afternoon till the next morning as a security system, he still couldn't control his body and lost control when the Altera Village was a few miles away.
After making the last changes on the computer's system it displayed a loading screen with its progress saving the changes. The young boy stretched his limbs and rested his face on his forearms over the desk in front of him, after a quick glance at the screen he saw it was currently daytime outside the Altera Core and the loading screen wasn't even a half full. He yawned and made himself comfortable on his forearms before closing his eyes after staying awake for five days after his arrival in Altera.
The next weeks were easier for him; now he could go out to get food and clean water in the surroundings of the Altera Core and he could work on his new research having enough resources out of the incomplete Nasods inside his new home.
His diet improved from eating just berries and carrion to unseasoned meat and his body was grateful for that.
He also installed video cameras inside and outside the Altera Core to keep a better track of what's happening in his surroundings and to keep a record of what happens to him when he blackouts every full moon.
What was shown to him in the cameras after his first blackout confirmed what he saw in his mirror the night he ran away; the creature that destroyed his room, the beast that growled at him in the mirror and the monster that ran away was him.
The figure he saw in the cameras clawing at the walls and running in circles trying to find an exit had his scar on the neck, it had the same torn clothes and even his dynamos followed it like him.
There was no mistaking it, he even saw his own transformation and his own figure twist in pain till it changed to a beast that resembled the same demon he defeated with Arc's help to stop the demon invasion at Feita.
It was like staring at a smaller version of Berthe with white fur and purple marks.
He repeated the video once, twice, and several times until something caught his attention and he paused the video. In that frame he could clearly see a bite mark on the beast's left shoulder, it looked like a fresh wound but no blood was coming from it.
He uncovered his left shoulder and for the first time he paid attention to the scar on it; Before he ran away his wound healed correctly and the only thing left was a reddish scar, now his scar had a crimson red color and if he pressed it with his fingers the wound looked as deep as it was the day he got bitten.
It was as if the flesh inside never regenerated but he couldn't feel any pain coming from his shoulder unless he carried heavy objects with his left arm or if something made contact with the wound.
He took notes of the wound and paid more attention to it. In the following days, he noticed the wound closed little by little as it did before till it was back to just a reddish scar but something in his mind told him the wound would be opened again when he turned again.
He also noticed that he could stop his body from transforming if he kept his hunger at bay; somehow his body turned against him if he denied his hunger, if he had several days without having a meal the next thing he knew he would wake up next to an exit and the aftermaths of his blackout.
He was glad he made a "protocol" that would shut all the exits of the Altera core immediately if the necklace he designed gave the signal he was transforming. The necklace was made of metal to make sure he wouldn't tear in his other form and it had a pendant with the purple symbol he and his partners marked their belongings.
With his new discoveries, he started to make a better profile of his condition, how to deal with it and what not to do if he wanted to stay in his human form.
There were rumors around the Village in Altera about how some residents have seen light coming from the Altera Core, some residents dismissed the rumors saying "The El's search party already dealt with Adam and the Nasods inside of it, there's no way the Core is still active." Others added more details to the rumors saying there was a beast inside of it that growled and howled like a demon on the nights of the full moon.
The Ponggos were curious creatures but smart enough to not get in trouble so the rumors of a "demon" living in the Altera Core became a tale to scare kids that didn't want to go to sleep when their parents asked them to.
Still, no one dared to get close to that area for fear of the creature.
The city Chief of Altera Adel decided he needed to stop the rumors by going to the Altera Core himself; if the rumors were false then the village could go back to normal but if they were true then he needed to notify his village to protect it.
The city Chief packed enough food in his backpack for his one-day trip as water and blankets in case he needed to take a rest on his way. He left the village early in the morning before the sun raised and headed to the Altera Core.
When he arrived at the place the sun indicated it was a bit past noon and he saw light coming from the Altera Core as if it was active. The Ponggo steeled up his nerves and entered the place with his backpack and his trusty pipe.
As he walked along the corridors of the Core, he noticed the insides no longer had the remains of the broken Nasods the El's search party left fought against Adam, after the battle was over, he came to inspect the insides of the Core and that was the last time he came till now.
There were also claw marks on the metallic walls he couldn't remember if there were last time and he recalled the rumors of the "beast" living inside the Core.
He walked straight ahead ignoring the marks and focusing on finding his hay to the main room. Only the sounds of his footsteps and the buzzing of the lights around him could be heard in the corridors.
After what felt like an eternity, he reached the main room and found the computers turned on and some incomplete Nasods over tables. He stepped closer to inspect the room and the blueprints displayed on the screens.
Somehow, the devices displayed on the screens seemed familiar to him, he was sure he has seen this type of device somewhere…
He heard something metallic hit the floor and he snapped his head to look in the direction of the sound.
Once his eyes adjusted to the dark, he saw a white-haired teenager with torn clothes next to a table with spare parts of Nasods staring at him with his magenta eyes. His body was pale and covered in what looked like grease with a set of six floating devices at his sides similar to the ones in the blueprints he saw.
He knew those devices looked familiar and thanks to them he could remember the name of the tracer in front of him.
"Psych?"
The boy blinked at him he saw how his body relaxed after hearing his name after not hearing his name for a long time. He got closer to him and greeted him.
"Psych! long time no see you. What brings you back to Altera?"
The tracer remained silent as if he was processing what was happening. After a long pause, he nodded. "Yeah, it's been a while. I came back to gather some data but it seems like it is taking me more time than I thought so I'm staying here till I'm done with it. How's the village? Still got problems with the Transporting Tunnel?"
"Oh, not at all, it's thanks to Arc, Time, and you that we could get rid of the Nasods inside the Tunnel to use it again and carry materials to our village, we are better than ever. How are your partners? Did you come alone?"
The tracer lowered his head at the mention of his partners' names. The image of Time unconscious in his bedroom and the cold avoiding gaze of Arc as he drank coffee in the kitchen came to his mind and he had to bite his tongue hoping his voice doesn't show the truth behind his lies.
"I came alone, If I'm not mistaken, they are in Feita carrying on their research."
The Ponggo nodded. "I see, they must be busy if they didn't tag along with you; It's unusual to see only one of you but knowing them they wouldn't like to waste a minute for their research."
City Chief took another glance at the tracer. "Have you been here for a while? I can't ignore the state of your clothing and from what I see there is no decent bed or bathroom for you in this place. That and well, temperatures are about to get colder from now on. Do you have spare clothes?"
The tracer laughed. "I can't remember how long I have been here but I'm sure it isn't more than three months. Don't worry about me, I can deal with some cold weather; compared to Feita this place is ten times warmer."
"Well, I can't have you living in these conditions, young man. How about you come back with me and you stay in the village for a while? I'm not asking you to stop your research, just come to the village, get some new clothes, stay in an inn to have some proper sleep, a nice dinner and then you can come back in the morning. Don't worry about paying for it, it's the least I can do after you and your partners helped us."
Psych turned to look at a moon phase calendar on a monitor; the next full moon was ten days ago so he shouldn't worry about it. This could also be a chance to look for more information about his condition in the libraries of the village and to get some supplies to make his life easier at the Altera Core.
"If you put it like that then I can't refuse. Just make sure that if there's any task I can help with it don't doubt to ask for my help."
The Ponggo shook Psych's hand and then both walked outside the Core. After exiting the place Add commanded with his dynamos to close all the exits of the Core and followed the city Chief to Altera.
After making it to Altera the Ponggos received Psych with open arms and didn't make a fuss about it. They were as thankful as the city Chief for what he did for the Village. Adel kept his word and the first thing he did was to invite the tracer to eat a nice meal, after that he took him to get a full set of clothes and some spare garments.
Next, he talked with the owner of the Inns in the village and got a spare room for Psych to stay there as long as he pleased with the promise of 'No experiments in the room after sunset' – Psych knew it was thanks to a failed experiment of Time that occurred one night at three in the morning that rule existed; that incident ended with all the guest of the Inn complaining at their door after a loud sound woke them up –.
It was late at night when the city Chief leave him alone to rest so that the tracer could finally say goodbye to his torn clothes and take a nice relaxing bath. The hot water made wonders to his sore body and he didn't know how tired was his body till now that he could finally feel the tension leaving his muscles.
After the bath, he finally could rest his body on a soft surface below some warm covers and he couldn't be more thankful for that.
He was a man of science, a man that would put all his trust in math and physics before something like faith and wonders.
And yet he was here in the aisle of "Magic" in the library of Altera looking for spells to help him deal with his situation.
You see, when science can't bring a solution to "how do I keep my clothes from getting ruined after I transform into a creature twice my size that can only tear everything in its path" there's only another option the tracer could lean on and it was magic.
Some books had complex spells that could make a magician feel more powerful if they mastered them, other books treated magic the same way Psych did before he was tangled in this mess.
It wasn't till he found a book called "Magic and pets do get along" that he found a spell he found useful but he was embarrassed about the scenario in the book and offered to use the spell.
'Tired of your pet messing with your furniture? Try this spell! With this spell, your furniture will return to that glow it had before your mischievous pet decided to make your piece of furniture its work of art. This can also be applied to blankets, pillows, and even clothing!'
Psych decided to take notes of that spell to try it out with his clothes when he returned to the Altera Core. It's been nine days since he came to the village and with the next full moon just a night away, he was making his preparations to go back to the Core.
He also bought food, covers, and blankets to take with him. He already made up his mind to stay in the village but he also needed to go to the Altera Core from time to time to work on his new research and to keep the Ponggos safe during the full moon so he decided to improve the Altera Core as his new lab and to make it more comfortable to him.
After exiting the library, he stopped to thank Adel for his hospitality and told him he would be back after "getting some data at the Altera Core". Adel said his Goodbyes and wished him a safe journey.
The trip to Altera was far but his legs were already used to walking long distances, and his dynamos could always carry him if he wanted to rest.
The sun was already setting when he made it to the Altera Core, even with the help of his dynamos it took him about half a day to get there.
After getting inside the Core and shutting the exits he had a quick meal and proceeded to put on the spell he learned on his clothes in hopes it could work when his body changes tomorrow.
He also took this chance to undress his shirt and take a look at his shoulder; there were no traces that his wound had opened but as he carried his backpack during the day, he could feel the throbbing pain that prevented him from carrying his luggage on that shoulder.
Maybe the pain in his shoulder was a sign that the full moon was soon and his body was warning him.
The tracer sighed and covered his shoulder again. He proceeded to take out his luggage from his backpack and took a seat in front of the computers to make a quick checkup of the state of the place after his absence. Satisfied with the results of his checkup, he got up from his seat, took the blankets from his luggage, and slept on them.
Tomorrow was going to be a long day and an even longer night.
As soon as the sun set his body started to feel feverish, it was a matter of time before his body would be overcome with such intense pain that felt like his whole self was being torn apart.
With the remaining time and strength, he had he double-checked if the exits were shut and if he recited the spell on his clothes correctly.
Soon he felt how oxygen struggled to enter his body and how his shoulder burned like it was on fire, he had felt all this before and after blinking a couple of times he fell to his knees and his body twisted in pain.
His last memory was looking at how his own hands clawed at the floor and shredded his shirt into pieces.
His eyes fluttered open and a yawn escaped his lips. He stretched his limbs and rubbed his eyes to help him wake up. Once his eyes adjusted to the dim lights of the room, he lowered his gaze to see where was he laying and his eyes widened in surprise to see the clothes on his body in one piece.
He stood up and ran to check the cameras of the room to see what happened; after he turned to his demonic form the beast just made his routine of trying to escape and after growing tired it returned back to the main room, he turned a couple of times and lay back on his paws just like a dog would before lying down. Around six in the morning when the sun was rising the beast went back to his previous form and so did his clothes.
Psych smiled and took notes of his new discovery, who would have known a silly book of magic and pets could be this useful?
It was late at night and Psych was on his way back to the Altera Core like he did every month. This time he was so caught up in his research in Altera's library that he forgot to buy supplies and he only bought a chocolate bar to eat that night but his stomach was growling in impatience so he opened the bar.
He was about to take the first bite when the chocolate bar was snatched from his hand by a squirrel that ran as fast as it could to escape with the bar in its mouth.
Psych growled and sprinted to catch it. He tried to summon his dynamos to open fire at the squirrel but his dynamos were too fall behind they couldn't make it to their speed. He followed the squirrel without giving up his speed in hopes the squirrel would grow tired and drop the bar but the rodent was as resilient as him.
It wasn't till the squirrel tried to turn to a side that Psych found an opening and he launched himself to grab the rodent. With the squirrel in his hands, he now could take his chocolate bar back but what was grabbing the rodent weren't his hands.
In front of him were the same claws he used to see before blacking out and with a scream he dropped the squirrel; the rodent didn't think it twice and escaped leaving the chocolate bar behind next to the confused tracer.
Psych couldn't believe it, not even when those claws responded to his commands like his hands would do.
Out of curiosity, he tried to command one hand to go back to normal and his shook widened when it responded to it. He was now in a situation where his hands were turning into claws before him at his will.
Soon his dynamos finally catch up with him and he took notes of what just happened; not only did his hands turn into claws, he didn't have any idea how he could catch up to a squirrel's speed when his dynamos were faster than him.
After taking his notes he lowered his gaze and found the chocolate bar on the floor, he removed the part the rodent bite and cleaned it before taking a bite of it; He ate carrion and much more before arriving at Altera, if none of it destroyed his stomach then he was not going to waste his precious chocolate bar now.
After the incident with the squirrel Psych found out he could control parts of his body to turn to his demonic form; he could turn his hands into claws, his feet into paws, and make appear his horns and tail.
As part of a test, one day he tried to turn his body to his demonic form but his body wouldn't respond. It was as if something was blocking his body to do so.
It was odd, how could he change most of his body but not all of it? Was there a trigger he wasn't taking in mind?
He took notes of the limits of his body and he read his past notes, he noticed most of the notes he took previously referred to changes during the night like how his body became feverish at sundown before turning and how some nights he had to go out to stare at the moon or his mind wouldn't shut about it.
'Maybe the night is a trigger to this form.' Thought the tracer and decided to make another test later that night.
It was midnight when the tracer prepared everything in case things went wrong and he lost the control he hoped he would have.
After giving the command to his body he felt the familiar pain grow in his body as a warning. He bit his lip to endure it and did his best to keep it together.
"Don't lose it, don't lose it…" He growled under his breath, his voice sounded rough and deeper, nothing like he has heard himself before.
He hissed and growled as he endured the torture of his body changing, he was beyond the point where he normally passed out and he wanted to keep his control as much as he could.
The sound of his bones cracking was sickening and the way his muscles grew to fit his form was insane.
After a couple of minutes that felt like hours, the pain started to fade and Psych tried to calm down his breathing. He didn't know how he could turn parts of his body without feeling pain but right now he just went through a hell of a feeling to turn his whole body.
He moved his claws, swung his tail, and tried to walk on all fours. His body did respond to his commands and he could be in his demonic form at night at his own will. It was surreal, there are no words how to explain the feeling of a body that isn't your own but it's definably yours.
Everything seemed so little compared to his new height, he tried to stand on his paws like he saw Berthe do back in Feita and was shocked to see everything grow smaller as he did so.
He was trying to process everything that was happening but he jumped on his spot when he accidentally knocked down a table full of spare parts with a swing of his tail. Not only was he huge, but he also wasn't used to the lengths of his body.
Going back to stand on all fours he walked to the corridors of the Altera Core, it was a strange feeling to walk the corridors he walked every day in this form. A part of him wanted to do as minimum as possible to keep his control but another part of him wanted to test the limits of it.
He ignored the wary voice in his mind and with a growl he sprinted to make the same routine he saw himself do when he loses control and the beast side of him made his body run in circles on the corridors, claw the walls and growl at the exits.
Feeling the rush of adrenaline, he grew bolder and commanded his dynamos to open an exit for him. He was about to rush out of the Core when he stopped in his tracks.
'No. He shouldn't step outside in this form, not yet.'
He gave the command to his dynamos to shut the doors and he returned back to the main room. Once he was there, he took a look at the cameras, and there he saw how the wound in his shoulder have opened again as it used to every full moon.
He tried to talk but no voice came from his mouth, he was glad his dynamos answered his commands telepathically or he would be in trouble without them.
The rest of the night he took more notes about this form, he was afraid of feeling the same wave of pain when he went back to human but if that helped him find a way to control himself during the full moon then he was willing to endure it again.
It wasn't till sunrise that he felt his form changing, maybe it was because of his previous transformation but this time the pain was more tolerable and faster.
When he opened his eyes, he no longer had claws and his voice came back to him. With a quick look at the cameras outside the Core and at the current hour, he could find the last trigger to his form.
"The sun, I can't fully transform if the sun is in the sky…"
Even when he could now have better control of his body, during the full moon all his progress was useless and his mind could only think about tearing and destroying everything on its path.
And yet, he thought he could still deal with it till he found a way to change that.
His life was ten times better than when he arrived at the Altera Core, he could live with the Ponggos and keep on living like he was been living for the past year but he couldn't afford that.
The Ponggos were isolated from the other cities in Elrios, he was sure that no one knew he was there and that he could continue living there without worrying about bumping into an acquaintance but he didn't want to be there, he wanted to return with Arc and Time, he wanted to return to his old life together with them but his condition did not allow it.
He had to be better, to be brave, to be stronger.
With that in mind, he resumed his previous physical training to be able to endure the pain of every transformation and he continued his research of his Nasod Armor.
If his Nasods Armor helped him null the pain, if he could complete his armor to be able to use his demonic form as a weapon and if he could program it to stop himself from hurting others then every second of his research was worth it.
If there were records to beat in Altera then Psych was about to set the record of "The one who read all the books in Altera's library". He has read from all the physics books to each and every book of magic. The last two books he had in queue were the one he was currently reading "Minerals and their power" and "Romance for dummies".
He didn't believe a thing about how minerals could have an influence on his daily life but he has run out of books to read in his spare time and he definitely wasn't going to read a book of romance.
He was halfway through the book when a mineral caught his attention; the Moonstone.
The book described the Moonstone as ' A crystal capable of storing energy and being a catalyst that could multiply the energy stored to deliver a bigger outcome of it. This crystal is also used to recover the balance of mind, body, and soul.'
If Psych had read this before he would have made fun of it but right now the crystal sounded like the solution to his problems. He continued reading and he found that the stone can be found on the border of Bethma and Feita, not so far from his current location.
If the stone were to be real and have those proprieties then he would finally have the source of energy to power his Nasod Armor and perhaps get to fully control his demonic form even if there was a full moon.
He had nothing to lose by trying, besides he had already run out of options.
He traveled at night in his beast form; it was faster that way and if somebody watched him, they could always mistake him for a demon instead of a person.
Once he got to the temple where the Moonstone was supposed to be the changed back to his human form. His efforts were finally paying off and what was a painful transformation of several minutes was now a transformation of less than a minute where only a growl came from his lips.
The pain was more bearable now that he could transform faster but that was only on nights without a full moon, if the moon was complete then his transformation was the same painful torture where he would lose control and cry in pain.
As he made his way through the corridors of the empty temple, he inspected his surroundings noticing how whoever made this building sure paid their respects to the crystal.
Once he found the stone, he put it in his backpack to return to Altera when,
"Is someone there?"
Psych felt chills run down his spine and he hid under a column. He peeked out his face and looked at someone who he hasn't seen in a long time and could recognize immediately.
It was Allegro, the alchemist of Feita and the one who helped him and Arc when Time fell into a coma.
He gulped and clenched his fingers.
He wanted to show himself, to ask him about his partners, to ask him if Time is awake and making silly pranks on Arc, to ask him if Arc is taking care of himself.
To ask him if they have forgotten him.
"I heard someone here. If you are hurt, I can take of you, I'm a medic."
Psych took a deep breath. He couldn't believe what he was about to do.
There was a pause, neither of them made a noise and silence filled the temple.
Until…
"Wait, the Moonstone? Where's the Moonstone? Oh no, I should hurry and tell Lento about-"
The alchemist was about to rush out of the temple when a white demon on all fours blocked its way and growled at him showing all his canines. Allegro was about to scream for help when his whole body tensed up and aggressively shook before hitting the floor. Behind the alchemist was one of Psych dynamos that gave him a shock to put him to sleep.
Psych exhaled the breath he was holding. He got close to the alchemist and careful not to scratch him with his claws grabbed him to lean him back against a pillar.
He knew that he had to be quick and that he should not leave a trace that he was in that place, he had to run back to Altera and hope no one would mind the Moonstone has disappeared. If he was lucky, the alchemist would not remember what happened and blame someone or something else.
If only luck were on his side...
It was a success.
The moment he fused the Moonstone with his Nasod Armor the power tingled on his skin, his hair stood on end from the static and he felt different.
He fragmented the crystal into several parts; the small parts were on the hoops of his gloves and on the wings of his shoes. The larger parts were embedded in his dynamos that could now mimic his supernatural speed thanks to some upgrades, but the main fragment was placed in the pendant on his necklace.
He also designed a metal plate for his left shoulder that avoided any discomfort due to his injury, with the remaining metal he made a piece of metal that hung from his hips along with some chains so that no one would suspect the plate on his shoulder; if he had two metal pieces of an "armor" then no one would question the reason for the plate on his shoulder.
The night of the full moon came and even when the transformation was as slow and painful as it was before the beast laughed after his transformation.
He was in full control of his demonic form, his transformation over the nights of full moon was inevitable but now that he was in control he didn't have to worry.
With all of this in mind, he designed a new outfit, one that could feel comfortable when he made quick and repetitive strikes, one that could keep the static of his body at bay, one that could help him combine his new enhanced body with the new magnetic power of his dynamos.
When the new set of clothes was ready, he recited the spell he always put on his clothes and he changed into his new outfit.
With one last look at his new form on the cameras, he smiled and a chuckle escaped his lips. It's been a while since he felt this good.
If he was correct, it's been more than two years since he felt this good; the memory of his partners laughing together one night after treating the wound on his shoulder was as clear as it was yesterday.
It feels like forever since the last time he saw them but now he was ready to go back with them.
After destroying all his records in the Altera Core he paid one last visit to the Altera Village, took all his stuff, and thanked Adel once again for taking care of him.
He then moved to Feita, he expected to meet his partners there but on his way there he saw some signs warning that there was a white demon with purple markings roaming around Feita.
He took one of the signs and continued his way to Feita.
Once he made it to the village, he went to pay a visit to Allegro first, just like he supposed a few months ago, as soon as Allegro saw him, he recognized him and called him by his name.
"Psych! Long time no see! Where have you been?" The alchemist greeted him.
The white-haired man smiled.
"I have been busy with some research. I saw the signs of a white demon that was roaming around Feita, everything alright?"
The alchemist sighed and adjusted his glasses.
"It was around three months ago; I went to pay a visit to the Moonstone temple and while I was taking some notes I heard footsteps. I went to check if it was someone injured but as soon as I saw that the Moonstone was stolen, a creature similar to Berthe blocked my exit. After that I don't remember anymore, I think I fainted from terror."
"A creature similar to Berthe?" Psych asked.
"Yeah, I know it sounds strange but it looked the same except for the white fur and purple markings. My guess is that creature is who stole the Moonstone."
"I see. By any chance, does the Moonstone have a purplish color?"
"Indeed, it also has the shape of a crescent moon, that's the reason for its name."
"Ah, what a shame." Psych huffed, he took a bag from his backpack and placed its contents over the counter of Allegro's shop. "I happen to I ran into that demon on my way back and it tried to attack me before I could deal the final blow the creature escaped through a portal and dropped this bag. Seeing its color, I assumed that it was something important but now it is ruined."
Allegro tried to put the fragments together but it was useless.
"Oh well, at least this relic is back to Feita. Sorry, you had to run into that thing."
"Not at all, I'm glad I could help that much." Psych smiled. "By the way, how's Arc and Time? Any news if Time woke up?"
Allegro blinked. "Time woke up about a year ago, they no longer live here."
Psych's smile disappeared.
"What?"
"It was after Time woke up, the leader of the Velder troops Vanessa came to ask for their help with the demon invasion at the capital and offered them a place to live if they could take back the city. They succeeded and about eight months ago they came for their remaining things."
The white-haired man remained silent.
"I thought you knew about this, I mean, they used to ask me if I have seen you in my journeys to Bethma and Elder but I thought you three were in contact. Sorry if I said too much."
Psych shook his head. "It's not your fault. It's So much has happened in these two years, huh?"
"No need to mention it." Allegro smiled.
The white-haired man exhaled and passed a gloved hand through his hair.
"Any idea if they still live in Velder?"
"I bet so; I don't think they would move to another place after getting a place at the capital."
Psych nodded and grabbed his things. "Thanks for the info. I'm glad to see ya."
"Me too. Have a nice trip, Psych."
The white-haired man was about to go when he heard his name. He smiled and turned to face Allegro.
"Call me Lunatic Psyker".
