Chapter Text
Luke was nervous, the butterflies in his stomach threatened to fly straight through his mouth and let everybody know his feelings.
He was seeing his uncle again for the first time in years.
While they kept in touch through letters sent by raven, always telling the other how much they missed them and how excited they were to be married, Luke had not physically seen nor touched his uncle since the night of the incident.
His soul yearned for its other half and now the day has come for them to finally be united.
Would Aemond like what he saw? What if the time apart only allowed the alpha to see he does not want lucery anymore? What if he doesn’t think Luke was worth it?
Before his thoughts could keep spiraling Arrax nudged his head against his rider as if to offer his comfort to the omega who was nervously hiding in the dragon pit..
Smiling Luke purred at his dragon and ran a gentle hand down hot to the touch scales.
“You always know how to cheer me up.”
With a confidence he didn’t feel, he wandered out of the courtyard in search of someone to keep him company, only to be curious when he heard the sound of grunts and swords clashing.
Slipping through the crowd his breath hitched as he came face to face with Aemond training with Ser cole. His uncle looked good .
He was tall, most likely taller than Luke and his body was lean and strong, lethal in his movements, his face was sharp and he had even grown his hair long, passed his shoulders,
Mine, his heart whispered. All mine.
Luke snapped out his day dream when Aemond had knocked the sword out of Ser cole’s hand and the beta Yielded.
“Well done my prince, you’ll be winning tourneys in no time.”
“I don’t give a shit about Tourneys, I only care about being the best for him .”
With that the alpha stepped back and turned to the crowd, his single eye narrowed on Luke and a smirk crossed his face.
“Welcome home,
Issa byka zaldrīzes.
“(My little dragon).
Luke ducked his head shyly at the nickname, his heart fluttering once more. Aemond always called him that in their letters but this would be the first time his heard it being used .
He didn’t expect the warmth that follows, or his cheeks flush pink over it.
His chin was nudged up by long fingers.
“ Nykeēdrosa hae pretty hae mirre.” ( Still as pretty as ever.)
Luke groaned and knocked the alpha hand away playfully, aware of all the eyes watching their every move.
“Ao embarrass issa zaldrīzes, keligon verdagon issa blush.” ( you embarrass me dragon, stop making me blush.)
Aemond low chuckles sent a shiver down his spine.
“Dōrī.” (Never.)
After that Luke spent the rest of the afternoon holed up in the alpha’s room, talking and catching each other up on the happenings that weren't spoken about in their letters.
Luke knows that it isn’t proper for them to be alone, but with alicent being busy and the omega’s family have not arrived yet, he wants to enjoy alone time together before the wedding consumes their attention.
Luke tangled his fingers in the older man’s as they laid side by side.
“Are you nervous about the wedding?”
Aemond kissed brown unruly curls and inhaled the omega’s scent.
“Nervous about what? The Gods themselves have blessed this union. This is nothing but a celebration of what’s already been done.”
Funny how aemond knew just what to say to calm him without him having to explain.
Brown eyes looked up coyly.
“Well I’m nervous about messing up our kiss, maybe we should practice before the big day?”
The alpha smirked and let his hand go to tilt his face up.
“You will hear no complaints from me.” Aemond drawled.
The most gentle kiss was pressed against trembling lips and for the first time in years, the dragon in lucerys soul was quiet, for it was in the presence of its bonded once more.
Luke leaned happily into the hands cradling his face and let the scent of smoke and linens take him under its spell into his mate’s capable hands.
I miss yous and you’re mine was whispered in between one hitched breath and the next, hands relearning and discovering the other under the Gods' careful eyes.
“Keep me forever?”
I never planned on letting you go.”
