Matt didn’t think about Jack for weeks. They did have a great day and all but with the other living too far away they just settled on exchanging phone numbers first and leaving it at that.
They did exchange a few text here and there but nothing much but a few pleasantries and exchanges of well doing.
This is why, when Matt's phone announced the calling of 'Jack Russell' in the Office, Foggys head took an immediate turn towards him. Matt could swear he heard a few of his bones crack at the sheer speed.
He shot his friend a warning look and took the call suppressing a small smile.
"Matt Murdock, Hello?"
"Hi Matt! It's Jack, uh- Russell. Sorry are you free to call right now? I should've probably send a text first."
"No its fine, I'm at the office but we don't have a case at the moment."
Foggy closed his eyes and wiped his face free of imaginary tears.
"Awesome-, well not awesome because you guys don't have a case.. That probably sucks."
This made Matt finally crack and let out a smile, shielding himself from Foggy whose eyes were basically about to pop out, by turning his back to him.
"Ouch Jack, you hurt me."
"Aaaaaaa don't say that! I told you about my huge guilt complex man!"
The man on the other line laughed a bit before continuing,
"I just wanted to pop in and ask if you're free somewhere around next week? I'm going to be in town again.. Uh, visiting family."
"Are we talking about a date?"
Foggys fist connected with his desk and then pumped up in the air in obvious celebration.
"Yes! If you're up for it of course."
"Well you're in luck Jack, it happens to be that i am indeed free."
"Cool! Cool cool cool.., ill text you when I arrive and we work out the details?"
"Okay works with me, thank you for calling."
"Thanks for answering haha, Goodbye Matt."
The call ended and Matt turned back around only to face Foggy who looked like he'd been the one who was asked on a date. Matt could basically hear his face muscles stretching.
"Dude."
"Yes Foggy."
"I am literally smiling so much right now oh my god. Forever single Matt Murdock goes to another Date with the guy I got him the first Date with this is amazing I have to call Karen like right now. Oh my god!"
and after a short pause his rambling was followed by another
"Dude!!"
