Takemichi woke up on July 4th 2017. It was July 14th. It was July 4th?!
“It’s July 4th!” Takemichi jumped out of bed. Mikey was laying beside him asleep. They’d spent the rest of the day together, before going back to Takemichi’s apartment and passing out.
“Mikey!” Takemichi leaned down and shook him a little, “It’s July 4th!”
“Hmm?” Mikey was starting to wake up.
They’d done it. They were out of the loop! Takemichi was so excited he couldn’t contain his feelings. Without even processing the action, he put his hands on the sides of Mikey’s cheeks and pulled him into a kiss.
Mikey grabbed him and guided him so he was straddling him, “Good morning to you too.” Mikey murmured through kisses. Takemichi felt his heart flip. It was this mix between feeling so on cloud nine and feeling his heartbeat out of his chest. It was a mix between easy- comfortable and absolutely exhilarating and unknown.
“We did it!” Takemichi repeated as he pulled away and rested his forehead on Mikey’s. “The loop is over.”
Mikey- his boyfriend pulled him into another kiss… and another… and another.
“What are we doing today?” Takemichi asked. Although they’d ended the loop, Takemichi felt like this was more of a beginning than an end. The loop was over, but in ending it they began a life they’d spend together.
“I need to talk to Kisaki about sponsorships,” Mikey told him, running his hand through Takemichi’s hair gently. His eyes were so bright as he looked at Takemichi. He loved seeing the light in Mikey’s eyes. “You want to tag along?”
“Of course,” Takemichi responded, before remembering he should be at work. If he was supposed to get married why hadn’t he booked off time for a honeymoon? Even then, he seemed to not want to be married- with how little preparation he’d done. “I have to call my work, hold on-”
“You didn’t book time off after your wedding ?” Mikey questioned as Takemichi dialed the number. Mikey was absolutely judging him- even though neither of them really wanted the wedding to happen to begin with… so was it really hard to think Takemichi wouldn’t plan it into his work schedule?
“Hi… Yeah, I can’t come into work today-” Takemichi said as his boss picked up the phone. He saw Mikey grabbing some of his clothes out of the corner of his eye. It wasn’t really a new thing, Mikey borrowed Takemichi’s clothes a lot throughout the time they knew each other, but this felt… different.
“When we get married, you better book a whole month off-” Mikey said. Takemichi tried to ignore how his boss paused for a moment before continuing to speak. She’d definitely heard him… Takemichi felt his face heating up as he looked over to Mikey.
Mikey grinned at him as he walked into the bathroom, “I’m gonna take a shower real quick and then we can go.” Mikey seemed to not care about Takemichi’s phone call because he added, “You want to join?”
There was another pause before his boss sighed, “I’ll take you off the schedule…”
“Tha-” She hung up before Takemichi could even thank her. Takemichi ran over to Mikey and picked him up by the stomach causing him to drop the clothes he’d been holding, “You have no self control, do you?”
“Not when it comes to you,” Mikey told him, licking Takemichi’s neck as a way to get his boyfriend to let him go. He picked up the clothes off the floor and walked into the bathroom, “I’ll be ready in like a half hour.”
