Chapter Text
☆~ I speak for all your mother and his parents. We are so glad you two finally realized the love you have for each other~☆
"How was the shopping district, you two?" Your father spoke as he greeted you and your brother at the door.
"It was great! Look what Bokuto bought me!" Your brother excitedly held up the toy and your fathers face had a look of shock. You had guessed he knew how much the toy was.
“That’s really cool kiddo. Why don't you go play with it in your room while me and your sibling have a chat?” Your father said as he bent down to your little brother’s level. your brother being too excited to care, ran up the stairs to play with his new toy.
“Let’s go sit at the table.” Your dad said as he grabbed your bags and sat them on the kitchen counter before sitting at the table. You followed him and sat across from him wondering what exactly he wanted to talk about.
“You know you have to pay him back when your next check comes. That toy is way too expensive.” Your father was concerned and you understood why.
“I know I tried telling him I would pay him back next paycheck but he wouldn’t listen. He said it was a gift and I didn't need to pay him back for it. Even if I tried , he wouldn't accept the money. You know that.” It was the truth. Bokuto would never accept money from anyone if he considered what he was getting someone a gift. Your father could only sigh about it and decided to change the topic to what you had found at the shopping district. He had gotten up and brought the bag to the table.
“Well, let’s see… Oh a mug your mother really wanted a new one. It even has her favorite flower on it.”
“Kona showed it to me. I told him I'd let her know he picked it out.”
“He is such a sweet kid. Oh! It’s a dragon! Is this for me or you?” Your father had a slight obsession with dragons.
“It’s for you of course. I knew you didn’t have that one yet so I got it. I may or may not have had to spend some of my money to pay for it though.” You rubbed the back of your neck as you knew your father didn’t like it when you spent money on him and would really only accept gifts on Christmas and his birthday.
“There’s nothing I can do about it now. Thank you, I’ll put it front and center on the shelf.” He gave you a hug as he moved to a shelf that sat in the back of the dinner room. It was the only place your mother would allow him to put his dragons as he had no more room in his office.
“You’re welcome, dad. I think I’m gonna put up the stuff I got myself and go on a walk. Is that okay?”
“Your mother said to be home by 2… I’ll let her know you wanted some time to yourself and you’ll be back home soon. Just keep your phone on incase one of us calls okay?”
“I always do.” That was the last thing you said to your dad before he went back to his office. Putting your stuff on your bed for now you headed out the door to take your walk.

“It’s summer, it shouldn't be this cold…” I had only been on my walk for 20 minutes and it felt like winter. It was still bright out too, maybe I can pick up some snacks for the team while I warm up? Yeah, what should I get everyone though? Like mother earth was looking down on me, my phone started to ring. It was him.
“What do you want?”
“Hey, hey, hey I just wanted to let you know… you should’ve brought a jacket. It’s cold out here.” He could see me? You hung up the phone and started looking for the tall bird. It wasn’t hard to find him. He was only a couple feet to the left of you.
“You think I don’t know that, Kotaro. It was fine earlier.” He didn’t say anything and just tossed me his jacket.
“Take it for now. What are you doing out?” I didn’t want to put it on but the wind made it hard to say no. I put it on and it was… really soft.
“I went on a walk and now I’m going to pick up some snacks for the team. If you’re gonna be nice you can join.” I didn’t really want him to join but it would be good to have someone else help you pick up some snacks.
“Alright, let’s go then!” How did he have so much energy? We were out all day almost yet he’s jumping around. We didn’t talk on the way to the small convenient store and once there Bokuto was quick to go straight towards the snacks. I picked up a basket to carry the snacks since you knew you’d have to get some extra for Shirofuku.
“Grab some extra for Shirofuku and grab yourself something.” I said as I passed behind him to grab snacks I knew the others liked. When I was done I saw Bokuto still trying to decide between two things for himself after he had dropped snacks for Shirofuku into the basket.
“Sigh… gimme those.” He didn't have enough time to react to me grabbing the snacks from his hands and moving to the checkout.
“Hey, hey! I wasn’t done. You said ‘something’ not ‘some things’. I’ll go put this one back.” He tried reaching one of the snacks that I grabbed from him, but I moved so he couldn’t grab it. I put the basket up on the counter and started pulling out the snacks so it would be easier for the worker to scan them.
“Will that be all for you guys?” The worker asked and Bokuto was about to say something but I cut him off.
“That’s all, thank you.” The worker said you’re welcome after they finished scanning the items and I paid.
“I would’ve put one back if you just let me.” Bokuto said as we walked out of convenient store.
“Too bad, It’s a gift. You can’t pay me back now.” I could see Bokuto sulking from the corner of my eye. Tomorrow everything will be fine. We’ll go back to being how we usually are… being enemies… right??
☆~You were right Akaashi… I really hoped you were wrong, but there was always a small part of me that hoped you were right. Thank you for that push Akaashi~☆
