So in case anyone is confused, Rinne and Niki are dead. So is Hiiro. Ba bam!
Explanations for things~
Niki's hallucinations: I'll leave the theories up to you. Could it have been the water? Maybe Niki's fears manifesting in a physical form?? (Wait this isn't even an explanation my bad)
Shape-shifting creature: The god which is occasionally mentioned. It makes sure that things run smoothly and there are no issues with the Amagi family. Its solution for Rinniki was to get rid of them or make them want to get rid of themselves.
Repetition: NO. I DID NOT RUN OUT OF IDEAS I SWEAR. The repetition was used in order to get the point across. Take for example "as bright blue as a summer sky." These words are used to describe anything that is the same shade of blue as Rinne's eyes.
Daisies: They represent new beginnings and childbirth which in this case is Mafuyu's child. I HATE making up names for characters in fics cause ewwww but I had to just this once to show that Mafuyu isn't like anyone else. I tried to avoid saying her name as much as possible.
POV: At the beginning of the story, you (the lovely readers) are able to see what Rinne is thinking and feeling. Rinne and Niki share the role of "main character" and the "camera" focuses on both of them. As Rinne and Niki grow more distant, we start to see less of Rinne and no longer get that insight into what he's thinking. At the end, once Niki is reunited with the real Rinne and Niki dies, the camera once again focuses on Rinne who is the only star left in the show.
