Chapter Text
It was freezing outside, colder than she had ever remembered.
It was days like today that she had no interest in making snow angels or having a snowball fight like she usually did when the snow came (much to Cedric’s chagrin.)
No, today was far too frigid for that. Today was a day to stay in and be warm. She watched the snowflakes dance outside the window of Eric’s cabin, wondering how it could possibly be so harsh out there and yet so peaceful in here.
She looked down at him as he slept, his bronze hair splayed out in every direction and the little bit of available sun shining on every strand. He looked like home. He looked like she felt every time she saw him. Warm.
He stirred just a bit, cracking open one eye and then the other. He smiled at the sight of her, her long red hair messy and perfect falling down her shoulders. Her eyes were blue but they were never cold to him. They were always always warm, like the center of a bonfire. The warmest blue he had ever seen.
She smiled at him and he felt warm in his chest. He glanced out to see the icy landscape and was a bit surprised. He never even felt a chill.
