Bubbles boiled and popped, while students gather their belongings before the end of class. They had been making a Pepper up potion and Scorpius thought he did well on his first try.
He couldn't wait to get back home and brew it like a master. His potions teacher would probably be impressed.
Snape's voice shook him out of his daydream, "Class dismissed" he sneered. Scorpius hopped off his chair pushing it in by the bubbly cauldron. He grabbed his books and placed them in his temporary bag and buckled the strap.
His worn black converse stood on the recently mopped wood flooring, squeaking with every movement. Neville had knocked over his potion, so it had to be cleaned up during class. Neville on the other hand contracted some of the mixtures onto his hand, so he had to be taken to the infirmary.
Scorpius felt bad he would miss lunch. At the thought, his stomach rumbled in desperation for food like it could read his mind.
He walked towards the door, but before he could leave Snape stepped in his way.
"You show great potential" he admitted. Scorpius smiled at the kind words, well kind enough for Professor Snape. Snape continued "Your skill is much like your father, Draco, I hope continue the way you are doing so now". Scorpius nodded, "I sure will Professor Snape, I promise I won't let you down".
Snape nodded, "Now get on your way to lunch, Mr.Malfoy-Potter".
Scorpius walked out the door with a hop in his step. This whole time-traveling thing was so far going great. Though he did long to be back at home with his parents, his older parents.
Don't get him wrong his younger parents were great, but they were too much like him. You know no matter what year teenagers all act the same in some way. It was a bit unnerving for their parents to be so easygoing and let them do whatever they wanted.
He was starting to miss them very much it was starting to become unbearable. He missed his home and friends at Hogwarts. Was it too much to ask to come home already? He was tired of this prank the Universe thought was so funny.
He passed through the bumbling and hectic hallways to the Great Hall for lunch. A group of Ravenclaws talked in hushed whispers in the corner looking over a large book. Some Hufflepuffs were planting beautiful flowers on the window sills. Scorpius hurried away from them, even though the flowers were beautiful they were from Herbology and they didn't have a good reputation.
He finally reached the large doors to the Great Hall. The sight was nothing new but would always radiate that powerful, but joyful almost childlike magic feel. His feet paced across the cold stone floor. He hurried over to the Slytherin, slipping and weaving through people. He was a pace away from his seat when he almost tripped over something. He glance down at his feet, his breath hovering once he realized it was someone instead of something. He bent down in a frazzled mess, and a chorus of sorrys rang out his mouth.
"Oh don't worry! Hazel is ok" the head cleaning elf reassured. Her voice was high-pitched but sweet like a young child's. She patted Scorpius' knee like he was a cat. Scorpius sighed in relief, "Sorry again... Hazel was it?". "Yes, that's me it was nice talking to you, but Hazel must go. Much cleaning to do". Scorpius watched Hazel run off seemingly heading over to the spill at The Gryffindor Table.
A cold, slender hand settles on Scorpius' shoulder, he looks up to see Draco smiling. "Come on let's go eat. I think they have apple pie today" Draco announced hopefully. A light skip in his step as he runs his palms together eagerly. Scorpius followed along with him and sat down on the rough wooden bench.
There was a mutual decision made the day before to all sit at the Slytherin table. As the two blondes approached Ron picked up his head to glance at Scorpius, his expression solemn. His face morphed into a look of disappointment his head falling back in his arms with a sigh. Scorpius scan the rest of the table in confusion, wondering what had his Uncle Ron so down in the dumps. Harry shrugged his shoulders and focused back on his conversation with Lily.
Draco stared at Ron, shaking his head in disbelief. A disappointed grimace spread across his face. He sighed and surveyed everyone else in hopes someone else would ask what was wrong. Lady Luck was not on his side today. Draco sighed again and placed down his fork. His warm delicious, flaky, gooey apple pie was going to have to wait.
"Weasley, what is wrong with you? You've been looking miserable all day. It's starting to bother me." Draco remarked, not looking too sympathetic. Ron peered up out of his arms. His house robe stood crinkled from the position. Ron glanced around at everyone, everybody was paying attention now. Ron broke the tension in the air, " Herbology is kicking my arse". His hands slid down his face, his voice cracking with the words said. Hermione gazed at Ron and shook her head. " Maybe if you studied more..." her words were quickly cut off by an outcry from Ron.
"No Hermione! The literal plants are kicking my arse" he complained. She rolled her eyes, seemingly giving up on trying to help him.
"Eh, Herbology isn't that bad, mate" Harry declared in a sorry attempt to help him feel better. Ron glower at him. Tilting his head to the side in an annoyed manner.
Draco cleared his throat adding to the conversation he essentially started, "You just got to research the behaviors of different plants." He takes a bite of his apple pie casually to avoid any expectation of him to continue his words.
The silence at the table caused Draco to look around. Everyone was now focused on him, expecting more wise words to leave his mouth. Draco rolled his eyes in exasperation. His plan hadn't worked. "Are you all still expecting me to continue? That's all I got for you" he grumbled taking another piece of apple pie to his mouth.
"Well... Herbology is pretty difficult, I can't seem to understand it" Hugo pipes in, looking deep in thought. Ron lights up, "Finally! Someone under-". Hugo zone backs in, "I still don't understand how I have an A in it"
Ron sinks back down in his seat, his relieved mood dampened by his son's comment.
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME!" His head falls into his arms with a thump.
A few Hufflepuffs from behind him turn around with a mixture of curiosity and concern. They turn back with whispers following quickly behind.
Ron whined, shaking his head vigorously looking like a fish out of water. "That can't be it, Pleaseeeee Draco I need help!". He grasped Draco's hands attacking him with puppy eyes. Draco put down his fork in defeat. "Fine! I'll help you study but only for the week".
Ron jumped to his feet, pulling Draco into a tight hug. "Thank you! Thank you!". Draco pushed his face away with no actual attempt to successfully push him. " Alright alright that's enough" he groaned.
The kids' giggles filled the hall in a joyous chorus. Hermione shook her head fondly at the boys' silliness.

We stood waiting in the office for Nagini to come back with the proper papers and necessities before we could bring the kids back. Unsurprising time traveling came with a lot of legal issues. Nagini told us we would be required to sign multiple agreements and privacy contracts before we could go through with anything.
Of course, none of us minded as we would do anything to get our kids back. Signing papers was a small price to pay for just that.
Nagini strolled back into the office with 4 stacks all with even amounts of paper and each separated by one colored sheet. She dropped them on the circular table, a slam echoing throughout the room.
"Goodness", she breathed out. She straightened her back and gleamed, "Alrighty then, pick your desired stack. They're all the same so no worries there, take your time and just holler for me when you all are done" she stepped back over to the open door. "I'll be on my way, have fun!". With that, she was gone.
"I guess we better get started this may take a while", Ron sighed, ruffling his hair. Harry patted his shoulder. "It's alright mate, we'll soon have our kids back before you know it".
Hermione hugged Ron tightly, "Harry is right love, they'll be back in our arms soon". She kissed his temple sweetly. Ron smiled up at her and back to the papers. A chorus of pens clicking rang throughout the room and the signing began.

I swiftly sign off the last paper. My signature had slowly gotten messier as I went down the stack of tedious papers. I glanced over at the others, they all were still working on their last few pages.
"Almost done over there?", I questioned. "...And..Done!" Hermione gleamed. Harry caught my eye from behind her. "I'm just about there, don't worry" he reassured. Ron smiled up at everyone. "Four more pages almost there."
"Ok, Good job everyone!" I congratulated. "We're one step closer to getting the kids back".
Ron gave me a weird look and then started hysterically laughing. "I'm- sorry- HAHAHA" He spoke with pauses in between laughs. "I've never seen you this optimistic before," Ron said finally calming down. "You know besides the circumstances".
I rolled my eyes at his comment. "I'm just trying out something... new" I awkwardly said. This time it's Harry's turn to giggle, "I didn't know you could 'try' new feelings" he snorted putting air quotations around try.
"Will you two bug off, sometimes I regret being nice to the both of you" I cross my arms looking away.
Ron and Harry both started to shake with laughter which slowly started to turn into hollering. Hermione smacked both of them on the head. "Will you stop acting like children, Good Lord!" she whispered-shouted. "There are people looking at us. She marched over to the blinds and snapped them closed.
Everyone looking through the windows was back to the work the moment they saw the Minister striding over. It was hilarious to look at.
"Now, are you two done?" I questioned. Hermione added, "With your silliness and your papers" She pointedly looked at them. They nodded, "Yeah, I'm done. I don't know about Ron" Harry answered. Ron looked offended but said he was done too.
Hermione shined with joy, "Good let me get Nagini then!". She was gone quicker than you could blink, speed-walking down the hall.
・゜゜・ ・゜゜・..・゜゜・ ・゜゜・.
In about 3 minutes Nagini was back in the room. She took the stacks of papers skimming through all of them. Picking up some and putting them in folders and such.
"Alright! Everything looks great, I'll go let the others know so we can get you all up and running" She smiled. She then turned over to Hermione, "Are you staying, everyone in the department is assuming you are."
Hermione looked surprised she narrowed her eyes, "Me?" she raised her eyebrow, "Stay here and not get my children are out of the question. I'll only be gone for a maximum of 45 minutes." she continued with a stern look on her face, "There's no reason for me to be here right now, especially during Christmas, all issues are at an all-time low."
Nagini nodded looking a bit intimated by Hermione's mini speech. "Yes, ma'am I'll let them know you're going with". Hermione smirked, "Thank you very much". Nagini swiftly exited the room seemingly wanting to get away from the Minster as quickly as possible.
"Wow...that was badass," Ron said in awe. "Thanks love, but please watch your language" she joked.
The door swung back open and Nagini motioned for them to follow her. It was almost time to see their kids again.

I laid back into the soft green grass, the wind blew my platinum hair to the side, and rain slight;y drizzled on my face. I could hear the ripples of water from the lake over the way. Creatures moved around everywhere just in the Forbidden Forest overhead. It was just relaxing in the 90s just as it was in my time.
James and Hugo sat a few feet over playing cards, Rose sat reading a book, Lily lay next to me fast asleep snoring louder than a horse, and my parents were having a small picnic. They invited us all too, but Uncle Ron and Hermione declined and decided to go down to Hogsmeade.
So, Dad and Papa went down to the kitchens and got some food from elves after a lot of convincing and we all had a little picnic. Now they sat there finishing the rest of the food and cuddling. It was honestly cool seeing how my parents got together in person. It was crazy they had been together so long. I hoped that would be me someday.
I opened my eyes and left my thoughts, sitting up and stretching. "Does anyone want some more cake? We have leftovers." Draco called. James jumped up faster than a Kangaroo, "I want some please!!"
Harry laughed, "Then come over and get some grasshopper". We all paused, Rose looked up from her book curiously and Hugo put down his cards. "What did you call me?" James questioned. Harry looked confused, "Grasshopper.... Why?".
"It's nothing!" James waved his hand out in front of him. "It's just future you call me that a lot, it was unexpected."
Harry sighed, "Oh, I thought I did something wrong" he scratched his head. Draco hummed, "Where did the nickname come from". James raised his shoulders and dropped them, "You said it just felt right, like deja vu"
I straightened up, "Wait, you don't think it's some of his covered memories showing through from this moment do you?". James looked up in thought, "You're so right Scorp! My little brother is so smart". I gritted my teeth, "I hate when you call me little, but thanks I guess" I mumbled.
"You are my little brother though" He laughs and ruffles my hair. I smack his hand, "Stop that!" I whine out. He laughs again and walks away to get his cake.
Harry took a piece and placed it on James's plate. "Wait...Do our memories get erased" He wondered aloud. Draco nodded, "I guess so, it would be dangerous to keep them".
"So will I remember you?" Harry suddenly looked upset. Scorpius quickly cut in, "What date did we arrive here?". Draco thought for a moment, "Uhh, on the 20th. Why?". Scorpius pumped his fist in the air, "Future you said the same date! that means yall won't remember us, but you will remember everything with each other".
They both smiled at me and then at each other. "That's great I don't think I could handle having to go through it all over again," Harry said relieved.
A beep resounded throughout the open area. 'May Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter, and our Time travelers please come to the Headmaster's office
"Well, we better get going" Draco announced, "Someone wake up Lily, please" he added. I shook her shoulder, "I got it, Dad!"
Lily woke up with a yawn. "Get up Lils we need to go to the office" I whispered to her. "Ok, I'm up" she yawned loudly in the middle of the sentence. I laughed as I helped her off the grass.
・゜゜・ ・゜゜・..・゜゜・ ・゜゜・.
We walked along the empty halls. Most people were out at Hogsmeade, hanging out in their dorms or outside like we just were. As we approached the staircase, I stopped in my tracks. "Shouldn't they also need Aunt and Uncle too?" I asked.
"You're right, We'll ask when we get up there" Harry smiled at me. I grinned back and we ventured up the spiral case.
Dumbledore sat in his chair with the same twinkle he always had in his eyes. "Glad to see everyone here, We're just waiting on Hagrid to bring Miss Granger and Mr. Weasley".
I gleamed, "Oh good you already go them, I was worried someone had forgotten". Dumbledore winked. "I can't forget my own students, never have, never will" He laughed, the warm cheery kind.
In the next second, Ron and Hermione came through, taking off their big coats and taking a seat with the rest of us.
"Now that everyone is here. Your parents are on the way from the future" He announced. We all sat still in a state of shock. Lily was the first to speak up. "How do you know?" she asked suspiciously.
"A headmaster never reveals his secrets, I just know" he responded. "We'll be going home soon", James said his voice in a state of awe. I smiled so hard I couldn't wait to see and hug my parents again.
Rose jumped up in circles, "My goodness this is so exciting! Group hug!". We all wrapped our arms around each generating a warm big circle of love and happiness.
Draco cleared his throat behind us. We all broke apart and turned around. "It was nice having you all around, but I'm so happy you'll be home in time for Christmas" he exclaimed.
Harry nodded along, "So am I, we'll miss you dearly though". Hermione added, "A lot bunch actually" she teased. Ron squinted at the kids, "At least you'll finally be out of my hair". Hermione gave him a look. He squirmed, "But I will miss you all" he added to his previous statement.
They then heard a snap in the middle of the room, light slowly began to fill the room blinding everyone in it. Voices could slowly be heard as a sharp whoosh of air came then four figures stood on the weak wooden floor.
"Dad, Papa!" Lily shouted running into their arms before they even had a chance to speak. Draco looked from her ginger hair and motioned for James and Scorpius to join the hug. They both ran right in anxious to be with their parents.
Rose and Hugo did the same taking in their parents again like it had been really years instead of a few days. Hermione kissed both of their foreheads, as Ron ruffled their hair. Hermione fussed over them and alternates between telling them off and saying how much she missed them.
The teenagers stood back and looked at their older selves. It was like looking into a mirror almost only with minor changes.
Draco gleamed over at the teens, "Thank you for taking care of them". "And sorry for the much trouble they caused" Harry awkwardly smiled. Young Hermione waved her hand, "They caused no trouble at all, it was fun having them around."
Older Hermione faced Dumbledore, "We shall be getting on our way now, two days till Christmas still much to do". Ron added, "And family time to catch up on"
Dumbledore nodded with a smile, "Yes, Yes go ahead".
The future generation all faced their teen parents one more time, "Merry Christmas" they all shouted in glee.
The other side smiled at them, eyes glossing up. "Merry Christmas!"
And with that, they were gone. 20 more years and they all be back together again.
The End
