"Hello?" Chuuya answers his phone, annoyed and still in bed.
"CHHUUUYYYAAA! Good morning!"
Chuuya hangs up and turns over in bed, closing his eyes.
His phone rings. Again.
"GOD DAMMIT. WHAT DAZAI!"
"Hello~! I am outside. Let's talk and head to the warehouse together!"
"I hate you." Chuuya disconnects the phone and gets out of bed.
Opening the door, Dazai stands on the other side with a stupid smile on his face.
"Hi Chuuya! Ready for training today?"
"Step back." Chuuya says harshly, as he closes his door and locks it.
Chuuya sets off for his car.
"Chuuya! Wait up! Oooo you got a new car, finally?"
Unlocking the car, Chuuya sighs. "Yes. Get in asshole."
"This is nice, Chuuya." Dazai sighs rubbing his hand on the dashboard
"Watch. Your. Finger. Prints." Chuuya growls, turning on the car and driving off.
"Are you excited?" Dazai asked.
"I'm not excited but I am interested." Chuuya admits. He had been thinking about this girl for the past week ever since he found out he was going to be training her.
Dazais usual annoying tone turns into something more serious "She's powerful. She has a good heart. I will admit, She is very intimidating looking but she's very determined and very sweet. Kunikida informed me last night she has a bit of an anger issue. Towards enemies at least." Dazai says with a very amused smile.
"Oh great. A 23 year old American female with anger issues. Just what I needed."
Dazai laughed as they pulled into the parking lot at the warehouse.
"We're 10 minutes early." Chuuya states getting out the car.
"This truly is a nice vehicle, Chuuya." Dazai states.
"Yep."
"It'll be a shame if someone named Dazai puts a bomb under it like the last one." Dazai says, smirking while walking up to the warehouse.
Chuuya blinks
"THAT WAS YOU?!?!? God, I HATE y-"
"Hello?" Caverns voice rings from behind the fighting duo.
"Caverns! Good morning."
Chuuya looks over his shoulders and his blue eyes meet another pair of blue eyes.
Caverns is dressed in a sleeveless turtleneck and cargo pants.
"Good morning." She says, walking up to Chuuya "Nice to meet you. My name is Caverns."
"Chuuya Nakahara. Ready to train?"
"I'm looking forward to it." She says with a smirk.
During the past week, Caverns' confidence in herself and her abilities grew. She's proud and it shows.
Chuuya smirks "Me too. Let's get inside."
"Alright. Let me see what you've been doing with Kunikida. Come at me with all you have. Don't hold back."
The lights in the building goes out with a pop
"What the hell?" Chuuya asked out loud.
Chuuya sees a light out of the corner of his eyes and stops Caverns by using his gravity manipulation to hit her with a piece of the concrete.
"Cute move but this isn't the first time I played in the dark."
Caverns groan, getting up.
"Try again." Chuuya says standing on a piece of levitating concrete.
Caverns does just that. Lighting fuels her fingers and Chuuya smirks.
After two hours of fighting, Chuuya stands above Caverns with a smile. "You're not that impressive." Chuuya states standing on the ground.
"You know." Caverns says, spitting out blood. "You are really pissing me off."
Chuuya laughed. "Armed Detective Agency my ass." Chuuya says, turning on his feet.
Caverns felt her blood run cold and Dazai finally looked up from his book after 2 hours.
"AGE OF ENLIGHTENMENT!" The whole building starts to vibrate as electricity moves through the walls.
Chuuya turns back around and smiles at the scene before him. "Finally! This is what I'm talking about!"
The white and yellow spirals that were previously on her body during the Ibuse fight is back, and her eyes are white.
Suddenly, electricity shoots out of Caverns hands, heading directly towards Chuuya who blocks it with pieces of concrete he's using to levitate.
"COME ON! That's it?" Chuuya teases. "What are we doing here?!" Chuuya asked. "Listen, I'm wasting my time-"
The windows suddenly blow out the warehouse and Chuuya turns around "YOU ARE SUCH A PAIN IN MY ASS. YOU KNOW THAT. DAZAI IS RIGHT. YOU ARE NOT NICE." A huge blast of electricity sends Chuuya flying into the wall.
Caverns walks over to Chuuya who's lying in a mess of dirt and concrete on the ground. Chuuya looks up at her
"You dropped your hat." Caverns held the hat out to him.
"Thanks." Chuuya says while getting up and brushing off his clothes.
"Now THAT is what I'm talking about. I can work with that." Smiling, he puts his hat back on.
The next 7 days Chuuya helps Caverns harness the power of Age of Enlightenment, introducing various ways to help control it. The two got surprisingly close, realizing they're a lot more alike than they thought.
"The good thing about your ability is if you learn how to harness it, you can come back on your own. Unfortunately, If I use corruption, this idiot over here has to be there to stop it for me." he nods over at Dazai.
"Why can't you learn to control it?"
Chuuya takes a sip of water "Well, It stems from entity Arahabaki, a God of immense destructive power. When I release my stability over said powers, Corruption takes over, essentially reverting to my true, uncontrollable nature existing solely for destruction."
"What happens if Dazai isn't there?"
"I die." Chuuya laughed. Chuuya looks over at Caverns, who is looking blankly at him.
"What wrong with you?" He says lightly punching her.
"That's not funny. I don't want you to die, bro."
"Did you just bro me?" Chuuya asked.
"That's how you know she likes you." Dazai pipes in.
"Correct. Also, Sorry I said you weren't nice. I did mean it. Not anymore though."
Chuuya laughed "Don't worry about it, kid."
"I'm older than you." Caverns states "and taller." Dazai adds.
"WHATEVER. THAT CONCLUDES YOUR TRAINING. SEE YOU LATER." Chuuya walked off angerly, Dazai gets up and followed him closely behind.
"STOP FOLLOWING ME."
"CHIBI LET'S GET DRINKS. DRIVE ME PLEASE." Caverns hear them getting further and further away.
Caverns laughed as she got up. Her phone rang.
"Hello Fukuzawa! How are you?"
"I'm doing well. How about you? You finished training, yes?"
"I sure did! Chuuya and Dazai just left, and I'm walking out the doors of the warehouse right now."
"I need a favor." Fukuzawa says lowly.
"What's up?"
"I need you to meet Akutagawa from the Port Mafia. He has paperwork with new information involving Fyodor. Could you pick it up?"
"Uhh.. Yeah!" Caverns answers nervously. This is sort of her first solo 'job'
"Thank you. I'll send you the address."
They hang up and Caverns anxiety takes over. Not only with the fact she has to meet a Port Mafia executive but a Port Mafia executive who's ATTRACTIVE. What? She's only human.
"Nah it's fine. I look like a mess. It's business. Whatever." Caverns says out loud. Her phone lights up from a text message from Fukuzawa; a link to an abandoned corporate building.
She plugs it into her GPS, 12 minutes away walking. Not bad.
12 minutes go by and she arrived at the building. It's very worn down, looks like it's been abandoned for years. The door opens by a simple push and falls off its hinges.
"Damn." She mutters. She gets inside, avoiding debris on the ground. She pulls out her phone. "Alright. Top floor. Of course."
She dust off a map near the elevator to see how many floors there was "TWENTY FOUR!?!" She yells, her voice echoing through the abandoned building. "Nah, I am not doing that." She pries open the doors to the elevator and opens the control panel. 'This probably isn't safe' She thinks 'This won't work' 'Why?' She argues with herself. She shrugs her shoulders. She conjures some electricity in the pointer finger and puts it to one of the exposed wires. The lights flicker. Caverns smiles "Come on. A little more." The second burst works and the elevator is working. "Alright! Floor 24. Here we come." The elevator lifts up and doors open. She steps out carefully, the whole time her finger still on the wire so it doesn't lose power. "1...2...3." She rips her hand back and the elevator crashes to the ground, shaking the entire building. 'Well. Better to walk down then up I think' She thought.
She looked around. No Akutagawa.
She sits on the window seal, looking out the window down at Yokohoma. She hears coughing and looks up to see a man in a trench coat.
"Hello Akutagawa." Caverns says standing up. Atsushi has spoken highly of Akutagawa. Highly means he is extremely strong and dangerous.
"Hello. Caverns, is it?"
"Yes. Fukuzawa said you had information about Fyodor."
"I do." Akutagawa hands over the manilla folder.
"Thank you for bringing this and meeting me here. It's nice to meet you." Caverns said after a few moments of silence.
"Yeah, nice to meet you as well." Akutagawa said. Starring at the girl.
Caverns blushes lightly, looking away and scratching the back of her neck.
"Is this all? Should we leave?" She asked nervously.
"Yes. Shall we?" He asked pointing towards the stairs.
Caverns follow his lead going down the stairs "was that huge crash you?" He asked.
"It was." Caverns says, blushing a deeper red.
"What was it?"
"I took the elevator."
"How?"
Akutagawa pauses and looks back when he saw a small light out of the corner of his eyes. Caverns conjured electricity in her finger again to show him.
"It worked for the ride up surprisingly, but didn't think about the ride back down." She admits.
Akutagawa gives a small chuckle, even Caverns barely heard it. "How idiotic of you."
They reached the front door
"See you around, Akutagawa." Caverns said starring up at the man.
Akutagawa looked down at her for a minute and then walked away.
Caverns confidently walks around the corner before muttering "who is that. I mean I know WHO it is but WHO is HE really?!?"
Akutagawa walks away annoyed. "Who is that girl. What is this feeling. Absolutely annoying." "She's worse than the weretiger." He thought to himself as he walked back to the office.
