Chapter 4: I'm so sorry.

Chapter Text

I am extremely sorry to say that I am discontinuing this fanfic. I personally do not support Miraculous anymore and have been dealing with a lot of things with my mental health. If you couldn't tell the driver was planned to be Kagami. I again apologize for not being able to finish this. This got much more support than I was expecting and it became overwhelming for me to the point where I was so pressured that I procrastinated to the point where I lost all interest in the story. I am extremely grateful for the support and I promise if I had the motivation to I would post more, but I don't even have a full story line. To make it up to you guys, I'm posting on this chapter another fic I wrote a while ago, it's not great quality but I hope it satisfies your marigami needs.

I woke up in a hospital bed. I didn’t know what was going on or who I was. I searched for anything but all I remembered was a girl with short dark blue hair and red eyes. A nurse in front of me looked at me.

“She’s awake!” The nurse exclaimed. As soon as they heard two people rushed in. “Marinette? How are you feeling?” A woman asked. She had short navy hair and blue eyes. Next to her was a big man with brown hair and a mustache.

“Who’s Marinette? Who are you?” I asked honestly.

“She has amnesia from the accident. She will most likely reclaim her memories later.” A doctor explained.

“Your name is Marinette Dupain-Cheng and we’re your parents, Tom and Sabine. We got into a car accident luckily we were all fine. You’ve been asleep in here for about 4 days.”
Who I assumed was my dad explained to me.

“She should be alright but she needs to stay here for another day. I’m going to ask her some questions but you can stay if you’d like. Other visitors can come in later.” The doctor said.

“We’ll stay but we’ll leave once her friends come.” Sabin- er my mom said to them.

“Do you remember anything?” The doctor asked.

“One thing. A girl around like 16.” I told them. “So the same age as you. What does she look like?” The doctor questioned.

“She has short dark blue hair and red eyes.” I tried to explain. The doctor looked at my parents.
“That sounds like her friend Kagami! Maybe if we bring her in and have her show Marinette around for the next few weeks or so, Marinette will remember more.” My mom exclaimed.

“What’s her last name?” A nurse asked my parents.

“Tsurugi.” My dad responded.

“We have her number, we’ll be calling her to come. In the meantime someone has come to visit her so you two can leave.” The nurse told them. As my parents and the doctors walked out, another person came in. It was a guy around my age with blonde hair and green eyes.
“Oh thank god you’re okay Marinette! I’ve been worried sick.” He ran up to me.

“Who are you?” I quietly asked.

“Oh right, you have amnesia. I’m your boyfriend Adrien.” He explained. Something didn’t feel right but I shrugged it off to just my amnesia. He kissed me and I had to admit it felt nice. He started to try to explain things about me. I was secretly dating him, we both went to high school together, and had many friends. Soon there was a knock on the door. I saw the nurse from before and the same girl I had remembered, Kagami. She wore what looked like a school uniform. She was beautiful, I felt my cheeks turn red for a second. What was I thinking? I was with Adrien right? Adrien’s happy face turned pissed off for a second but then went back to normal.

“Kagami? Why are you here?” He asked, staring at her.

“Apparently I was the only thing she remembered and so I need to help her adjust in hopes she’ll remember again sooner.” Kagami stated. Adrien seemed to be glaring at her. “That’s what the doctors told me.” She quickly added. She then turned to me, “It’s nice to see that you’re okay even if you don’t remember anything. I guess you already know but I’m Kagami. I’m supposed to be showing you around” She told me with a slight smile. I smiled back at her. The two stayed with me for hours until it got late. I couldn’t help but notice the uncomfortable look on Kagami’s face. Did she not like being with me? Soon both of them were going to go. “I’m going to be back here in the morning. I’ll see you then, bye Marinette.” Kagami told me.

“I’ll see you at school on Monday. Goodbye my love.” Adrien quickly said after Kagami. He kissed me on the cheek and went outside. I could hear them talking outside but only snippets. What I did hear was Adrien telling Kagami to remember their deal? I was confused but just brushed it off. The next day I was still in the hospital but I felt so much better. The doctors said I could leave in a few hours. Soon the hours passed and my parents came with Kagami. Her mother understood that she needed to take care of me and help me with my memory. Soon we left. I had to use crutches but even so I was surprised to find that I lived in a bakery. The food there was really good though. Somehow I retained my baking knowledge and was as good as I used to be. Kagami showed me photos from our past and we looked around my room for knowledge. She told me a bit about my school life. Apparently now she was getting moved into my class and had to sit with me. The more she told me about her life, the more I admired her. She came from a legacy of famous fencers and lived with her blind single mom. Then she told me about Lila. The girl who almost wrecked my life.

“She would constantly tell lies. Once you called her out and ever since then she’s been out for me. Most of the class thought I was a bully except for her, Adrien, and these girls from other classes Aurore and Mireille. Others didn’t really care for you or Lila.” She tried to explain. Kagami was told she could sleepover by her mother. That night we sat on my balcony eating macarons while watching a movie on my phone. It was nice knowing I had a friend who cared for me as much as her. We soon went to bed and woke up. She put on her usual uniform.

“What should I wear?” I asked her.

“Do you want to wear your usual clothes or something new?” She asked.

I thought for a moment and said “Something new.” Together we picked out a black t-shirt, a jean jacket, and some leggings. I kept my hair down but put in two pink barrettes. My house was walking distance so we walked to school. As soon as we got there, we were swarmed by people.

“Why did you hurt Lila on Saturday? We know you’re a bully but she did nothing wrong!” A girl with tan skin and glasses asked me. Great, the girl Kagami had told me about was already saying things about me.

“Who are you?” I said looking confused.

“Don’t play dumb Marinette.” A boy with an orange cap told me. Suddenly I heard Kagami’s voice.

“She’s not. Do you know why she wasn’t here last week?” She asked.

“I thought she was on vacation or something.” the girl from before replied.

“She wasn’t. She got into a car accident last Saturday and has been in the hospital ever since. She only got out yesterday afternoon and has been with me at her house since.” Kagami explained with a stern voice. The look on the faces of my classmates turned to horror. They then turned to stare at a girl with brown hair who I assumed was Lila.

“I’m so sorry! I got my memory mixed up from my condition. It actually happened last Friday, before her accident.” She quickly responded. The others look at her understandingly. God they were stupid. Even if I didn’t know I still wouldn’t believe her.

“Well, even if you don’t remember it, that doesn’t excuse it. Apologize now Marinette.” Lila’s number one defender stated. Suddenly I heard someone walk in behind me.

“She doesn’t have to apologize for anything, Alya.” It was Adrien and he grabbed my hand.

“A-adrien, when did you get here?” Lila asked nervously.

“Long enough to hear what you’re saying. I don’t appreciate you spreading lies about my girlfriend.” Adrien said to everyone’s shock. He then pulled me and him away towards two girls. Kagami followed and said something to one of the girls in Japanese. That girl then whispered to the other.

“Marinette, I’m glad you're okay. I’m Mireille and this is Aurore.” Mireille, a girl with blue hair similar to Kagami’s but with bangs, pointed to a girl with blonde hair in pigtails and bright blue eyes who I assumed was Aurore. Soon after talking a little it was time for class. Kagami and Adrien informed the teacher about what happened to me and the teacher had made everybody introduce themselves though most seemed hesitant to. After class ended Lila and her minions went up to me and Lila started to speak.

“Listen Marinette, I know you don’t remember what you did but you really hurt me. If you apologize I think we could be really good friends.” I could hardly keep myself from laughing.

“Look Lila, you might have been able to fool all the others but unfortunately I’m not that easy. You might have taken my friends away but if they believe you so easily maybe they were never my friends in the first place. So no, I won’t say sorry for something I never did.” I snapped back.

“Marinette, what happened to you? We used to be best friends, I want that girl back. You’ve changed.”Alya told me looking disappointed.

“You’re right, I have changed. Unlike you, I actually grew a backbone and don’t tolerate her bs.”I told her before walking away to my real friends. Months went by and my life kept getting better and better. I made lots of friends from the other classes, Adrien was an amazing boyfriend, and then there was Kagami. She was my best friend and I couldn’t have asked for anyone better than her. One night we were having a sleepover. Suddenly I tripped on my balcony and everything went black. But something remarkable happened, I got my memory back! But one thing stood clear in my mind, the night of the accident. Kagami had asked me out and I said yes! But before I could talk to her again the next day the accident happened. But why had she lied?

“Mari! Are you okay?” She asked, shaking me awake before breathing in a sigh of relief. But she quickly noticed something was off.

“Why did you lie? I thought you liked me.” I blurted out and she looked at me in shock, clearly surprised that I remembered it all.

“He blackmailed me, he said he would out the both of us. I couldn’t risk that harm being done to you.” She explained, looking down in shame. I then wrapped my arms around her and we stayed like that for a long time.

“Why would Adrien do something like that? He never liked me in that way at all!” I pondered outloud trying to make sense of it all.

“That wasn’t Adrien. Adrien moved to London with his boyfriend, Luka and switched places with his cousin Felix. Felix was obsessed with you and blackmailed me after finding out.” She answered, sighing. Then I did something I wanted to do for a long time, I kissed Kagami. It was everything I’d hoped for and more. Everything would be okay, as long as we had each other.

I hoped you like that, it's most likely my last piece for this specific fandom, it was written a long time ago. I will continue posting other fics, however I can't promise that they won't meet the same fate as this one. I still am really sorry about this but I'm glad you enjoyed what I had written, though it wasn't much.

Notes:

Came up with this idea a while ago, finally posting it!
