“Mei, I’m home!”, Shiki shouted as she entered Mei’s house. She was petting a tired Koraidon as she looked up.
“Welcome back Shiki!”
Cute , Shiki thought. Shiki sat on the couch next to Mei and started petting Koraidon as well. The dragon purred in delight.
“Growlll.”
“You’re so cute Koraidon!”
“You are too, Mei.”
Mei looked at Shiki with a blush on her face.
“It’s true. You’re cute.”
“S-shut up! Shut up!”
“But you are cute.”, Shiki countered.
“What makes you say that? What about me is even cute?!”, Mei looked at Shiki for an answer. Shiki inhaled dramatically.
“Everything, Mei. I-,”, Shiki’s voice faltered, “I love you.”
Koraidon’s head popped up from Mei’s lap in shock. Mei blushed profusely. Shiki’s calm reddish-brown eyes stared into Mei’s light blue.
“I mean it, Mei.”
Koraidon looked at its “moms” and chuffed as it nudged Mei towards Shiki.
“H-hey!”, Mei shouted. Koraidon growled as if to push Mei to make a move.
Mei looked at Shiki, “Do you really mean it?”
Shiki took Mei’s hands in hers, “I do.”
She brushed a lock of hair behind her ear and grabbed Mei’s chin, an agukoi, one might call it, and kissed Mei. Mei tilted her head and melted into the kiss. They were bathed with the sunlight pouring in from the windows. Koraidon smiled and rested its head on the couch content with its actions. When the two pulled away, their intertwined hands remained. Shiki leaned her head onto Mei’s and next to Koraidon, they fell asleep on that couch once again.
