Chapter Text
This chapter has a bit of child abuse, so be aware.
Luz and Amity are peacefully sleeping in the Latino's room, when Eda comes in, banging pots and pans together.
"Rise and shine sleepy heads!" Eda screams, continuing to band the two pieces of metal together.
Luz is first to arise, due to the loud noise piercing her eardrums.
"Eda, shut the hell up, it's 8 am!" Luz whisper-screams, careful not to wake up Amity.
"I know! It's time for her to wake up and go back to her house," Eda states, stoping and walking over to Amity.
When Eda is really close to her face, she begins banging the pots again, making Amity jump in the air.
"EDA! You almost gave me a heart attack!" Amity yells, landing back on the ground.
"Good. Well, it's time for you to go back home."
Luz gets out of bed and stretches, Amity joining her.
"Eda, I can take her back," Luz states, wrapping her arm around Amity's neck.
"Yeah, I guess you can. Just... be careful. Please?" Eda worriedly pleads, not wanting her daughter and daughter-in-law to get injured.
"Of course! When have I not been careful?" Luz asks.
In both Eda and Amity's mind, they look back to all the times she HASN'T been careful.
"Yeah, I don't have enough fingers to count how many times," Amity states, Eda nodding in agreement.
"I get you point. Amity, come on! Let's go!" Luz calls, already out the bedroom door.
The others laugh at her banter before Amity races out of the door.
When she reaches the living room, she sees Luz already holding the door open for her.
"You first, M'lady." Luz says, bowing to Amity.
"Oh, thank you." Amity curtsies in return.
They both make there way out of the, laughing at what just happened.
They talk about all that has happened to them, mainly Luz talking about her life in the Human Realm.
They stop at a pond, admiring its beauty.
When Amity turns her head, she is met with Luz bending down, motioning her to get on her back.
Amity smiles and hops on, resting her head on Luz's shoulder.
"I can't believe I got lucky enough to find someone as great as you," Amity comments, enjoying the ride.
"Same. You are the best thing to ever happen to me." Luz states, eyeing the witch on her back lovingly.
They stay like this for the rest of the trip, both feeling comfortable in the hands of the other.
When they reach the Blight Manor, Luz offers to walk her in.
"You can't. My mom doesn't know that we're together and would probably break us apart if she found out," Amity says, causing Luz to be concerned.
"Ok. But, I'm just gonna stay out here until you get in, just to keep you safe." Luz says, getting into position next to the door.
Amity chuckles before facing the door, now wearing a serious face.
She steps into her house, the familiar gloomy setting coming into view.
She looks back behind her through the window to see that Luz has already gone back home or so she thinks. Luz was under the window, waiting to jump in if anything went wrong.
Amity retains her formal posture walking to the kitchen, making sure to look good in front of her mom.
"Hello, dear. It appears that you have been distracted and not living up to our family name ever since that human came into our world," Odalia mentions, giving Amity a stern look.
Amity stares at the ground, desperately not wanting her mother to find out.
"You know what happens when you don't live up to my expectations, don't you dear?" Odalia asks, excited to beat up her daughter and teach her how to be a Blight.
"Yes ma'am, I do," Amity mumbles, tears building up behind her eyes, threatening to break through.
Odalia walks over to Amity, a maniac look plastered onto her face.
She walks over to a knife block, grabbing the biggest knife she could find.
Menacingly walking over, Odalia proceeds to cut a gash in Amity's left arm.
Amity holds in her scream, scared of what her mother would do if she acted weak.
Odalia continues to cut up her arm until Amity passes out.
After she passes out, Odalia moves on to her right left, causing as much damage as possible.
Luz hears the sound of the blade slicing through someone's skin, causing her to peak her head over the window seal.
What she sees is horrific: Amity laying on the floor, blood oozing out of her arm.
Enraged, Luz's nails becoming dangerously sharp, her eyes glowing a bright gold, and her physical strength increasing.
She breaks through the window, claws scraping across the floor and eyes staring threateningly at Odalia.
"How dare you hurt her. You will pay for all the pain and suffering you have caused Amity." Luz grabs Odalia by the throat and throws her at the wall, breaking a few ribs.
Luz runs over to her and punches her hard in the face.
All the ruckus caught the attention of Alador.
When he walks into the room, he is furious, his face glowing a bright pink.
Alador runs over to Amity, concerned about his daughter.
After checking on her, he turns his attention to Odalia.
"She is our daughter! And you know what!? I'm done putting up with you, abusing our children!" Alador yells, grabbing the attention of Edric and Emira.
The twins make there way downstairs, stopping at the bottom step to listen.
"What're you gonna do about it? You've always been weak, Alador. There's nothing you can do!" Odalia is slowly getting up, the pain Luz inflicted on her making it hard to do so.
"There is one thing I can do. We are done, Odalia, and I'm taking the children with me. Now get out." He grabs Amity and holds her protectively, the twins coming to join him.
Odalia just stares, still not believing that he just divorced her.
"You're bluffing! You wouldn't really through away our relationship!" Odalia reaches out to grab him, being stopped by an abomination hand.
"No, I'm actually not bluffing." He grabs her with the hand and throws her out the door.
On impact, Odalia screams out in pain, the fall breaking her ribs even further.
"Now, get lost before you learn what it feels like to be remodeled," Alador states, closing the door in her face.
Edric and Emira hug their dad even harder, proud of him for doing something that big.
"It's okay kids, I won't let her hurt you ever again," he says, picking Amity up and attending to her wounds.
He turns around to face Luz, thanking her for saving her daughter.
He picks up Amity and does his best to clean up her wounds. It doesn't go so well since he was never in the healing track.
After attending to the injuries the best he could, he puts her in bed, kissing her on the way out.
He proceeds downstairs, letting Luz out and cleaning up the glass and blood with the help of the twins.
I will never let something like this happen, ever again. I promise.
