Chapter Text
After a lengthy walk to his estate, Dave brubot finally arrived at his home. It seemed to have gotten darker, and it seemed to have started sprinkling a bit, so he was glad that he reach his estate at this time.
Dave unlocked his door and entered the house. He immediately went past his living room and went straight to the kitchen, placing down his bag in the living room along the way. He shuffled his pantry a little bit, nothing really catching his eyes that he would want to eat. "Eh, screw it," he thought as he reached for one of his thousand boxes of cereal in a hidden storage unit under his cabinets.
After making his bowl of cereal, he went back to the living room and decided to grab his laptop to check on his schedule for this week, it doesn't hurt checking anyways, especially if he has to do a presentation or something...without doing another musical number for the presentation.
As he ate some cereal, the strange toy that he grabbed earlier caught his eye. It seemed to have fallen out of the bag when he plopped it down on the table. Dave stares at the toy for a lot longer than he realized. Its just something about that...toy that brings him unease. He doesn't know why it gives him this feeling, but he does not like it.
After checking up on his schedule and finishing off his cereal, he decides to exit the living room and focus on his other tasks, maybe that would make him feel better. He did a few of them: clean the estate a little bit, plan his next song to make, clean and polish his instruments, and so forth.
But no matter what he does, he still cannot forget that toy. Its just that...weird stare that it gives off, like its straight staring into his coggy little soul.
As a last resort, he tried to look for something to think about. Looking away from the toy train, he locked eyes on a small portrait thats on one of his tables in the living room, an old image of him and buck. He goes up to the table, and grabs the portrait, admiring it.
It was such a strange friendship he started when he first met that duck, a strange and loud cog that he worked with at a casino. First time meeting him, he was already doing some gambling at one of the slot machines. After he was done, they both finally did the introductions they were supposed to do at the beginning, and it just took off from there. Buck may have nearly blew his budget many times, but he was always such a joy to be around, especially when he actually won some of the slot machines, Dave would always feel happy for that little goober.
"Ah balls," dave realized as he was running out of more things to think about. The sudden remembrance of that creepy toy caused him to slowly turn to the toy on the table. It...it looked liked it moved.
Dave, deciding to finally face this toy, went up to it and crouched down to get closer. The toy was very dirty looking, looking like it was covered in soot. Maybe thats why he is sort of creeped out? Come on, there was no way he was going to let a toy out of all things scare him...right?
Dave, after staring at this toy for what felt like a few minutes, finally decided to boop it. He reached out his hand, and booped it right where the nose would normally be, nothing really seemed to have happened.
Suddenly, the toy vanished. Dave quickly backed off at the sudden moment, completely cutting him off guard. Dave just stood there, completely stunned. This toy just straight up evaporated, or something like that, and what was he supposed to feel about that?
After staring at that exact spot for at least 10 minutes, Dave finally decides to just go to bed, he does not feel like dealing with whatever that was, and he just wants to forget about it. So thats what Dave does, heading to his bedroom to hopefully take a nap or something. Before doing that though, he went to his washroom to at least clean his keys, well there technically teeth. As he splashed some cleaning fluid on his face, he noticed something weird.
In the mirror, it looks like there was this...weird discoloration on his chin. He tried to scrub it off or something, hoping it was a smudge of dirt he somehow got, but it didn't go away. Was this always on his...no this was never there before, why is it there?
"You know what, im done." Whispered Dave under his breath as he exited the washroom to go to sleep. He does not feel like dealing with another weird situation for today, he just want to go to bed already. if this has to do with the weird toy train, he will rather deal with it tomorrow.
