Chapter Text
…
Team’s skin prickled with awareness, he could taste the night sky on the back of his tongue and his pulse beat with the ebb and flow of the waves he could hear in the distance. Win’s breath fanned over his cheek making him shudder. He was so close, yet not close enough.
All his senses were in overdrive. He could hear the insects chirping, the press of the night made him shiver and when his fingertips clutched the faded soft fabric of Win’s shirt he could feel each individual strand weaved together.
It was insane. Like they were the only two people in the world and Team was completely fine with that (though he might feel a little guilty for forgetting their family and friends later)
How was it possible to feel so much all at once? His mouth dried and he swallowed, then licked at his lips. Win’s eyes followed the movement and Team started to shake.
He wanted—no—needed—to touch Win all over while he was so hyper-aware of everything. How would his skin feel under Team’s fingertips or better yet, his tongue? Would the burst of salty pre-come on his tastebuds send him into overdrive?
Team wanted to find out.
He twisted his fingers in Win’s T-shirt and pressed himself against him. His heart pitter-pattered as if he was a freshman about to kiss a boy for the first time.
The night air was warm, but the breeze was cool as it mussed up his hair. The stars shone brightly above them, though he couldn’t tell because his eyes had fluttered closed the moment Win’s lips touched his.
There was something magic about this place and if Team was the romantic kind he would say it’s because it’s where they first kissed, where they first…
Like that first night, Win’s mouth was gentle but sure of what it wanted, but unlike that night, Team knew what he was doing now, and the nerves he felt were just a shadow of what he felt then, more like anticipation for what he knew was to come.
He let go of his grip on Win’s T-Shirt, smoothed the fabric down his back and cupped his hands over Win’s hips to pull him even closer, to align their groins so their erections pressed against each other through their shorts. He groaned and gave a small thrust. They’d done so much more and without clothes, yet this press of bodies together through layers of fabric made him tremble and his heart race.
Win’s hand trailed up his arm, across his shoulder and ticketed the hairs at the back of his neck in such a way that it made Team’s eyes roll into the back of his head. How could such an innocent touch turn him into mush?
If his brain wasn’t already halfway to jelly he’d say it was because no touch of Win’s was ever innocent. He touched with purpose, with laughter, with love, and mischief, to annoy, and aggravate, and everything in between. Because of it, Team’s body responded to every minute touch he gave.
He was like Pavlov’s Dog when it came to Win. Everything about him was lust and love personified. He was Team’s safety net in a fucked up world.
Win was everything Team never knew he needed. He tasted delicious, he was handsome, kind, playful, hardworking…every single one of those things was a turn-on for Team. Even when he used them against him to turn him on at the worst times. Like at lunch or in the pool or watching movies with his family.
“We should get married here,” Win said against his lips.
It took Team a moment to translate what he said. “Huh?” He must have heard that wrong. There was no way…
Win’s smile widened and his dark eyes glinted in the moonlight. “I said, we should get married here.”
Team scowled and poked him in the ribs until he jumped backwards with a laugh. “That’s a bit presumptuous isn’t it?”
His heart hammered in his chest for another reason now. Had Win thought about marriage? They’d talked about the future, Win’s parents treated him like another son, but marriage? That was something they’d never spoken of before.
“I haven’t even asked you yet,” Team said as played with the hem of Win’s shirt, pulling him in close again, humming happily when Win wrapped him in his arms.
Win pressed a sweet kiss to his cheek, then ruined it by licking the shell of his ear.
“Hia,” Team groaned.
“Then, after you ask me to marry you we’ll get married here. The first place we kissed.”
Team raised an eyebrow. “In this exact spot?”
Win thought about it for a second. “Maybe the beach? This can be just for us. I’ll hire out all the cottages just for us.”
“So frivolous,” Team teased and pulled on the bobble holding Win’s hair back so it fell in front of his eyes, so like that first night.
“Just don’t wait too long, if you do, I might ask you instead,” Win warned.
Team snorted and let Win hold him so tight their hearts beat in tandem. “If you eat fish and chips with a local when you go to London I will kill you,” he threatened.
“What?” Win asked and Team just kissed the confusion off his face, not wanting to admit to his earlier fears.
Team’s arms wrapped around Win, his fingers tracing his spine until his hands reached his arse and he squeezed the pert globes which elicited a small moan from Win.
Team swallowed the noises, his tongue tangling with Win’s as they kissed. White noise roared in his ears, his skin tight and tingling with need again, and his cock strained against his shorts, though he was happy just to kiss and feel for a little longer.
“Told you,” a voice said from behind them. It was like a bucket of cold water, Team ripped away from Win with a gasp and stumbled as he twisted around to see who was there, Win’s arms steadying him.
It was the two juniors from earlier. Holding hands. Heat burned Team’s cheeks. He really wasn’t one for PDA. He’d forgotten that they were out in the open, lured by Win’s wiles as per usual.
Win’s arms snaked around Team’s waist and he leaned his sharp chin on Team’s shoulder.
“Hia,” he complained and tried to shrug out of his grasp, but Win wouldn’t let him go. In the end, he just rolled his eyes and turned back to Aye and Akk. “Sorry.”
Aye was grinning at them. “No need to be sorry, I told Akk you were together.”
“Ayan,” Akk groaned and gave his hand a yank.
“You didn’t know we were together?” Team frowned, they might not hold hands wherever they went like Dean and Pharm, but when they were together, which was a lot, they were always touching.
Either Win’s arms over his shoulder, Team’s hand on his thigh, sharing food off each other's plates…maybe his aversion to showing too much affection in public had gone the other way if some of their juniors didn’t know.
“We weren’t a hundred percent sure,” Aye said.
“My IG is mostly photos of Team or us together, he was in the family photos I posted for my father’s birthday,” Win said, obviously amused that there were actual students in the university that didn’t know their business.
“We’re not on social media anymore,” Akk said with a shudder, their faces serious. There was a story there, Team was sure.
“This is actually where we first kissed,” Win said. Team slapped the hand still around his waist.
“They did not need to know that.” Sometimes he hated how easily he blushed, especially because he knew Win said or did things to make it happen.
“That’s romantic,” Aye said and Team snorted.
“Romantic my ass. He was just horny.”
“Is that what you think? I’d been watching you since tryouts.” His chin dug into Team’s shoulder as he spoke.
“You were mean to me!”
“Yes, because I liked you, and I didn’t want to like you.” Win nudged his head against Team’s like a cat. “But it didn’t stop me following you around like a puppy the first time we were here.”
“More like a Rottweiler.”
Team could tell Aye was trying not to grin at them and Akk was looking at the door to their cabin and then at his boyfriend as if wondering if it would be impolite to drag him away.
Team almost told him to grab his hand and run, but Win wasn’t done telling their life story yet.
“He was so cute and unaware. Adorable. I can’t believe he didn’t realise I was flirting with him.”
Flirting?
“That’s your idea of flirting? You better find a new technique, Hia.”
“Got you in the end didn’t it?”
Eugh, why did he have to be so smug? Especially in front of their juniors. He was going to have to coach these guys when Win swanned off to London and abandoned them.
“Only because no one else would put up with you.” Team glared sideways at him. Win just smiled wider.
Before their first kiss Team had been completely confused by the weird tension between them, couldn’t understand why his eyes kept finding Win, did not get why he had butterflies in his stomach or why Win’s harsh words hurt.
But no one else needed to know how clueless he’d been back then. Never in a million years would he have realised what he actually felt for Win was attraction. He’d never really felt attraction for anyone before and wouldn’t have known what it was if Win hadn’t cornered him at this very spot.
Would they be together now if Win hadn’t taken that step? It didn’t bear thinking about. Okay, maybe Win’s weird way of flirting wasn’t too bad.
“I cut my foot,“ Team said, suddenly remembering that time at the beach. He wiggled his toes for emphasis. “Hia helped me out, told me it was only a small cut—even though it wasn’t—helped me clean it, asked if I was okay, and when I said I was fine, that it was a small cut—which is what he said, I might add—he walked off in a huff and told me my friends could look after me.”
Just thinking about it irritated him and he reached backwards to pull a lock of Win’s hair.
“Oi,” Win said, shaking him off.
Team’s eyes narrowed and he gave an evil grinned that only Aye and Akk could see, then grabbed hold of Win’s hand, bought it close to his mouth and bit his forefinger before Win realised what he was doing.
“You’re so savage!” He laughed and pulled away long enough suck his wounded finger into his mouth. Team turned just in time to see his tongue curl around the tip and his body lit on fire. Perhaps biting in public wasn’t such a good idea. It should go on the PDA no-go list.
“I thought you were telling me that you didn’t want my help. I thought you might have had a thing going with one of the ABC gang,” Win pouted playfully.
Team’s mouth dropped open in shock. “One of the—really? I didn’t even know I had a thing for you, and you thought I’d like one of those crazy guys?” Hia could be dense for such a smart person.
“I told you they bicker like a couple,” Aye said in a loud whisper. Team almost forgot they were there.
“Yep, definitely a couple, even if I want to kill him half the time,” Team shot Win a glare.
“Only half the time? It must be love.” Win winked.
“I understand where you’re coming from,” Akk said, raising an eyebrow at Aye.
“Hey! I’m a delight.”
“He’s also delusional,” Akk said, but he pulled Aye closer and slipped an arm around his waist which made Aye practically melt against him.
“I’m delusional for you,” Aye murmured against his shoulder.
“That doesn’t even make sense.” He steered him towards the door to their cabin. “It was nice talking to you both.”
“You, too.”
They watched them let themselves into the cabin before they carried on walking back to theirs. Team’s hand found Win’s as they walked the short distance. No one was there to see them, but he could see the smile on Win’s face, and seeing him happy made Team brave.
“You know, for someone averse to public displays of affection, you sure do like to have sex in lots of public places,” Win said, voice smug.
Team tightened his hand around Win’s until he winced. “It’s your fault.” He thought of the locker room, the beach, and then all thoughts disappeared as Win pushed him through the door to their cabin, and nudged him towards the bed.
When they walked to breakfast the next morning Team held Win’s slightly sore hand, he didn’t want anyone not realising that Hia was taken. It would be hard enough when he was miles away in London.
He only dropped his hand once they reached the buffet table.
Now that was love.
