Chapter Text

"Reo!"

The one in question seemed to jump at the sudden calling of his name, but didn't turn his head towards the source since he could already tell whose voice it was. this does come off as rather cold to an outsider, though.

Nagi made the decision to go ask him to watch the football game together just a couple minutes prior, and walked up towards their classroom. He found Reo sitting at the bottom of the stairs where they had their first meeting, just staring out the window across the hall. Even though Reo is doing his very best not to acknowledge him, Nagi joins him on the stairs.

"Hey Reo, do you want to go watch the football game together?" He tries to ask as naturally as possible, which isn't appreciated by the looks of Reo's disgruntled face.

"Hah? So I'm suddenly not a burden anymore?"

Nagi's eyes widen at the question. Did he make Reo feel like a burden? He remembers how Reo asked him the same question back in the barn and feels a sudden wave of guilt wash over him. How could he forget that exchange? Has falling in love really made him this selfish?

"Y-you're not a burden!" He tries, but to no avail.

"Don't lie, Nagi. You're sick of me, aren't you? You're avoiding me so blatantly..." His voice starts breaking. Nagi feels horrible about this, but can't seem to think of anything to say that won't reveal his feelings for Reo.

"I'm not lying! I just wasn't feeling like myself…" Nagi breathes in to continue his sentence but his head can't think of anything else to say.

"Then talk to me about it." Reo makes his voice sound soft and sweet, and a little desperate.

"I can't." Nagi wishes he could make his voice sound more emotional than it did, since he seems to come across as apathetic and cold.

"I've seen those guys at the bidding stand consoling you this morning, you seemed to be able to talk to them just fine." Reo turns his head back just as Nagi opens his mouth to say something. "You don't have to tell me everything, it's just that I get the feeling that I've hurt you in some way, or you're mad at me."

Nagi clenches his teeth. This is really the worst outcome of this situation, why did he have to freak out this much about his feelings? If he didn’t, this would all be avoided.

In a wave of frustration and impulsivity, he reaches out to grab Reo's shoulders and pulls him into a hug. Reo seems to wince at the sudden move, but quickly melts into Nagi’s touch.

“You haven’t done anything wrong, Reo. I’ve just been feeling kind of frustrated and anxious and I'm looking for ways to get rid of it, so I've been gone for a bit.”

That’s the first time Nagi’s been able to open up about his feelings since a while, and it feels kind of good. Especially since Reo’s grip on him tightens in response. The only vocal reaction he gets from him is a small “okay”, but it’s relieving as hell. Reo’s probably left with some questions and forcefully biting them down right now, but at least he’s being mindful and accepting of the situation.

They softly slide away from each other, the silence between them that follows is heavy. Reo seems to be in thought looking at the way his eyes are unfocused, and Nagi has to gather up the courage to ask Reo again if he wants to join him that afternoon.

“...Sure, let’s watch it together.” Reo says before Nagi could ask again. It seems like he didn’t forget after all.

Nagi perks up, looking a little flustered with his mouth still open. "Oh! Okay, awesome."

Reo would've giggled at that any other day, but now he just shows him a small polite smile that he might show a stranger. It's awkward between them, which it has never been before. Nagi can't find anything to lighten up the mood since Reo's always been in charge of that, so he decides it's best to leave.

"It starts in about two hours, I'm going to take a nap so let's meet here again." He waits until Reo gives him a hesitant nod before walking off.

Nagi is not planning on taking a nap, he didn’t really have a plan at all. He figured he’d just ask the question and see what the response would be. Now what does he do? It was probably weird to ask him to meet up at the stairs when they share a classroom, he realizes. And leaving him again? Reo probably didn't feel any better after their conversation.

"Fuck…" he whispers out loud after slamming the classroom door behind him. He seriously ran away again.

He reminds himself that it doesn't have to be that bad, in two hours he can make amends again. He thinks of the possibility of planning ahead and takes a seat in the back of the class. He can't think of what will happen since everything always comes to him naturally in the moment. Or, well, came

His mind flashes back to something that Karasu said to him: "If you don't feel like doin' anything about it, just make sure you can act normal around him so he won't go suspectin' anything." Just like that.

It's good advice. It's the only advice that works for him at the moment, so he’ll take it.

He'll try to act as normal as possible from now on; no funny business, no emotional outbursts, nothing. Back to regular ol' Nagi.

"Oi, Nagi…"

"Oiiii…"

What a nice voice, Nagi thinks as he peacefully continues his slumber. He hears a groan which sounds not as nice, and wakes up a little. As the setting sun hits his eyes, reality sets in.

He jerks himself awake, scaring the purple haired boy that was standing beside his table with crossed arms and probably a disappointed look on his face before.

"Fuck, Reo… what time is it?"

Reo rubs his forehead. "They've started already."

"W-were you waiting by the stairs for a long time?" The bad feeling starts spreading in Nagi's gut. He just keeps on letting Reo down, doesn't he?

"No, dumbass. Why would I wait by the stairs if I could've just come here?"

Oh, yeah, that makes more sense.

"Oh, sorry for sleeping for so long."

"It's fine… I lost track of time as well, that's why I'm late. Let's go."

Nagi gets up and as they make their way down the hall Nagi remembers that it's unusual for Reo to be late, especially since his watch still works.

"So, you were having fun?"

"Yep." Reo's voice sounds chipper, but his face is deadpan and focused on anything else but Nagi. Is he mad?

Nagi fiddles with his fingers. He just needs to act normal for a while, but please god let Reo also do the same.

"So… what were you doing?"

"Just hanging with some people. Everyone here's so nice."

Nagi puts his hands in his pockets to stop them from fidgeting as Reo holds the back door for him out of habit. "Yeah, I suppose so."

They make their way over to the football field. There's a ton of noise coming off it, which is a bit concerning considering noise attracts zombies, but that's an afterthought nowadays since Nagi's got way bigger things to worry about. Reo is obviously angry at him, judging from his passive aggressiveness. He hasn't looked at him once, and has been walking pretty fast to purposefully stay in front of the other, whose legs are longer. It's not like Nagi doesn't understand why, he just didn't anticipate it. He has never fought with Reo before and has always felt like doing so might be a very stupid move. It's not like he thinks he can ever get on Reo's actual bad side, but he is also definitely aware of the consequences of doing so.

For now, Nagi focuses on the goal of acting as normal as possible, that'll probably calm Reo down too.

Arriving at the football grounds, the bleachers are totally packed. There's a lot of yelling and wooing and Nagi's surprised to see a lot of guys having their face painted to support their favorite team. Walking along the sides, he can see Bachira on the field doing an elastico to get by an opponent, and stops to appreciate it. He gets pulled along by his sleeve by the one in front of him who's clearly in some kind of hurry. They have arrived at a more remote spot, slightly behind the bleachers but still with a decent view of the field. As Nagi is occupied watching Bachira do something he's never seen before, he only realizes there's other people here when he hears another voice besides Reo.

"Welcome back, Mikage." It's Kunigami, from the day before. And the other one…

"Hey prince, so you went to fetch your dog?"

Nagi now tears his gaze away to glare at the source of the sound. Why is he here?

"Don't call me that," Reo says while carelessly placing himself next to Raichi to watch the game. He didn’t even bother sticking up for Nagi; he’s definitely mad.

Nagi is puzzled, and it's showing on his face. Raichi gives him a nasty side eye which makes his blood boil. He tears away his gaze and tries to just focus on the game, but his head's racing again.

Are they all buddy-buddy now? How, and why? Was this where Reo was having fun before he came to wake me up? Were they watching the game without me?

He has to take his hands out of his pockets again to pick at the skin around his thumb in a nervous manner. Every single thought that pops in his head feels like another stab in the gut.

“Y’know how i used to be on the team too before i rolled my ankle?” Shark teeth shamelessly boasts to Reo.

“Yeah, you said that like three times already.”

“Ah, did i? I’m just trying to impress you, y’know?”

“I know.”

Nagi’s eyes are on the field but his entire focus is on what he hears to the right of him. How can Raichi be so straightforward? And how does Reo just accept it? Does he enjoy it? He sneaks a glance towards the two and while Reo looks somewhat engulfed in the game, Raichi’s focus is directed towards Reo's ass. Nagi has probably never used as many facial muscles as right now while displaying the most disgusted look ever, because Raichi throws his hands up in defense as he catches it. The vile smirk doesn’t disappear for even a second during it, and Nagi can’t help but feel challenged . He nudges Reo with his elbow and steps closer. “Shark teeth’s looking at you weird, Reo.”

To Nagi’s annoyance, Reo seems unfazed.

“So?”

So? So? What the fuck?

Nagi can feel his breathing getting more shallow as he grows angry. Shark teeth giving him the cockiest grin in existence is also not working in peace’s favor. He digs his nails in his hand to ground himself a bit and forces himself to put his focus on the game again.

It works for a bit, especially since Rin scores a really impressive goal which makes the crowd absolutely lose it. Before scoring, two people had marked him and he got past them in a very creative way, kind of like how Bachira did before. Nagi remembers Rin being critical of Bachira's carefree style, but this maneuver looked to be something Bachira would do. Maybe he got unconsciously inspired by his boyfriend’s moves.

Nagi smiles at the word boyfriend that appeared in his head. It’s got a nice ring to it, he thinks. Crazy what being in love does to someone.

Holding that thought, he automatically turns his head to look at Reo. He suddenly feels the urge to tell him what he just observed, together with Bachira’s story.

But to his surprise, Reo is gone. As is Raichi.

His face drops. He looks at Kunigami for answers, but he is way too absorbed in the game; celebrating with the people at the edge of the bleachers. So Nagi starts looking around him as an unfamiliar sense of panic takes root inside of him.

As soon as he takes a step back, he catches the color purple in his peripherals, being partially obscured from view by a taller figure, probably Raichi.

They had walked around ten steps behind the bleachers towards a point where they wouldn’t be easily spotted by anyone. As Nagi’s eyes focus more he sees Reo being grabbed by the waist and pulled in as Raichi tries to make a move on him. Reo softly pushes him off with his arm, and only seems mildly inconvenienced by the whole thing.

Nagi instinctively picks up his feet, his breath is back to a fast pace and shallow levels and his fists are clenched, as are his jaws. As soon as he approaches them and they notice him, he speaks. He makes sure to make his voice sound not as harsh as the look on his face, he still wants to try and act as normal as he can. “What’s going on here?”

Raichi smugly raises an eyebrow at him. “Doesn’t concern you.”

Nagi’s eyes trail towards Reo’s face, which displays an emotion that is incomprehensible to him. He can only describe it as looking surprised, but not in a bad way.

“I wanted to see the goal but he dragged me here out of the blue.” His friend says.

Reo's answer, plus the fact that he doesn’t look as angry as before makes Nagi calm down at least a little. But his blood pressure gets raised again when the other boy speaks up.

“Will you fuck off now?”

Nagi doesn’t easily get taunted, but when Reo’s involved it’s a whole different story. He furrows his brows and glares at the blonde through his eyelashes, effectively making his stare look deadly.

“Nah, I don't think I will. Reo obviously doesn’t want to be here either, so I'll be taking him with me.”

Raichi cocks his head and raises his eyebrows. “Oh really? I didn’t hear him complain once.”

He then suddenly grabs the purple haired boy by the waist with one arm and pulls him close, startling him. His other hand grabs onto his chin, making their eyes meet as his own face is inching closer.

“You like being chased, don’tcha prince?”

Before Reo can protest, the grip on his chin weakens quickly by the powerful squeeze of another hand on Raichi’s wrist. Nagi’s the one that lunged forward and forced Raichi to loosen his grip on Reo and pull his arm back. So much for trying to act normal.

“Don’t lay your hand on him.”

Reo has to use his own gymnastic tricks to get out of the grab on his waist, but Raichi doesn’t even acknowledge him anymore. He seems dangerously focused on Nagi now, while red-hot with anger.

“Or what?”

“Or I'll make sure you won’t have a hand at the end of this.” Nagi is bad at lying, so he definitely is not lying right here. Right now, for Reo, he’d even go as far as to kill.

That taunt was enough for Raichi to throw the first punch, or shove rather. Nagi didn’t budge as much as anyone else would, though. The next shove that came his way he succeeded in dodging, effectively using the martial arts that Reo has taught him but with his own little aggressive spin to it. He elbowed Raichi in the back of the neck, making him bend forward to then knee him in the gut. The hunched over Raichi was gasping for air when Nagi tried to tip him over with his foot. Noticing this in time, he locked the foot in between his upper arm and torso and pulled as hard as he could, making Nagi slip and fall on his back. Then he practically jumped on top of him, punching him hard in the face with all his might, and immediately drawing blood.

He steadied himself before he went to go for the second hit, but was interrupted by a powerful kick to the side, followed by the full weight of someone jumping on top of him while grabbing his throat. This time it was Reo, who decided that he had enough.

The look on his face couldn’t even be described as angry… it was more akin to bloodthirsty . As he choked the boy under him, he screamed out of frustration with a breaking voice. Raichi tried to shove him off multiple times but was surprised by the sole strength hiding in such a slim body.

Just before Raichi passed out, Reo got called by Nagi, making him lose his grip. Kunigami had arrived at the crime scene sometime during the whole thing and carefully pulled Reo away from Raichi, who was now coughing like crazy.

Because Kunigami already assumed that Raichi was the root of the issue and the one that started the whole thing, Reo didn’t feel obliged to explain anything to him. He walked up to Nagi, who was sitting in the grass while pinching his nose, and pulled on his sleeve. “Nagi, let’s go.”

Nagi silently let himself get hauled up and watched how Reo held his hand while he walked with big steps towards the school building, pulling the injured Nagi behind him. There was a hurry in their pace, initiated by the one walking up front. Reo held the doors again for Nagi, supported him when they walked up the steps towards their classroom, and seated him at the bottom of the stairs where they had their first meeting.

“Wait here.” He told Nagi as he practically ran towards the classroom.

Nagi was still holding on to his nose, of which the bleeding hadn't stopped. Luckily, it didn’t feel broken as much as it simply felt sore. The side of his face got hit pretty hard as well, he might have a partially black eye tomorrow. It actually doesn’t hurt as much as he thought it would, but that could be because of the adrenaline still being pumped through his veins. That last bit where Reo attacked Raichi didn’t help either, because to Nagi, the sight of a feral Reo was strangely hot . Although, Nagi did feel right in his judgment that making Reo your enemy is a bad choice.

Speaking of the devil, he came back with the same hurry he left, and was carrying a first aid kit that they had found back in the barn. He took his place on the bottom step as well and clumsily started trying to open the kit.

Nagi widens his eyes, he only now notices that Reo is crying…

“Hey, hey, Reo, I’m okay, please don’t cry…” He tries to plead softly.

Him acknowledging Reo’s emotions made him break down even more, dropping his head in frustration since he was unsuccessful in opening the kit. Nagi pulls the kit closer to himself and opens it with one hand, making Reo stop his crying for a second and blink up at him. Nagi smiles lovingly at his funny face and moves his hand through Reo’s purple hair, petting him. The latter lets it wash over him for a bit until his emotions resurface and he annoyedly swats the hand away before aggressively pulling whatever he needs from the kit. He’s obviously reluctant to talk to Nagi right now, but simultaneously very concerned with Nagi’s wellbeing and tending to his wounds. It’s a duality that’s so very attractive to Nagi at this very moment.

By the time Reo is done cleaning the blood off Nagi’s face and making sure the blood flow has stopped completely, he has ceased his crying. He seems more angry now than sad, and anger is making him speak again.

“What the fuck was that all about, Nagi?” His voice doesn’t carry much resentment, though. “I don’t get you at all. First you avoid me like the plague and now you wanna act like my hero?”

“You let him get way too close…” Is the only thing Nagi manages to bring out.

“So you don’t want to be close to me, but no one else can either?” Reo says, disbelief overtaking his voice.

Nagi can’t disagree with that, since it’s practically spot on. He stays silent, looking away in shame as Reo continues his scolding.

“I don’t have anyone else here, Nagi! You might do fine on your own, but I'm not like you! I know he wants more from me than to be just friends, and I am not interested in him like that, but I kept him around because I just… missed you, don’t you get that?” Reo’s voice starts breaking again. “We’ve been attached at the hip for two weeks straight just as we were back in highschool, so for you to suddenly grow so cold and distant, it just makes me freak out so bad... I didn’t want to make it all about myself so I didn't make it a big deal at first, but in all honesty it’s a really big deal for me. You’re a really big deal for me.” He made sure to lock eyes with the other boy while saying that. At this point, tears were streaming down his face again. “Do you really think I kept putting up with Raichi’s antics because I liked it? He just happened to be around me a lot to take my mind off of it, it was just a convenience for me.”

As Reo took a moment to catch his breath, Nagi took that same moment to have his own little fit.

“Was his attempt to kiss you also a convenience?” Nagi blurts out, even though everything Reo said made perfect sense to him. What stupid impulsive shit is he saying now? How will he come back from such a petty comment? He’s doomed.

“Hah?” Reo has the same reaction as Nagi’s inside voice. “What are you, jealous ?” He looks absolutely baffled by this. “For someone who insisted they weren’t before, you seem very fucking jelly right now. You didn’t even listen to anything else I said…”

Reo seems to gradually calm down, speaking softer with every word as his own statements are sinking in. His eyes soften to accompany whatever conclusions he’s making in his head. There’s a bit of silence between them before he speaks again, more sweetly and softly this time.

“Nagi… are you actually jealous?”

His anger seems to have washed away almost completely. His eyes are big and filled with anticipation and his head does a little turn.

Nagi moves back. Yeah, he’s doomed. No time for lengthy mind races now, that head turn just blew all his thoughts to the moon anyway.

Well… Fuck it.

“...Would it weird you out if I said yes?” It took him a bit to respond. His mouth was already hanging open and his face was already flushed, giving it all away anyway.

An involuntary grin starts appearing on Reo’s pretty face, which turns into a chuckle. If Nagi's heart would beat any faster, he’d surely die.

“No, but I'd be curious as to why?”

A lightbulb appears above Nagi’s head. Oh, there’s still a chance to save it. He could tell Reo that he was jealous of their friendship, or maybe afraid that if Reo got a boyfriend he wouldn’t have time for…

Nah, fuck that. No running away this time.

“Because I want you all to myself.” Nagi whispers as he leans forward, doing his own imitation of a stare and head turn, but with a face as red as beets.

The color on Reo’s ears quickly takes over his entire face and neck as he slightly moves back in a surprised motion. Nagi lazily blinks up at him and carefully rests his forehead on Reo’s shoulder.

“Just like Raichi wanted you.” Nagi clarifies. “I want you like that. Does that not weird you out?”

He can practically feel Reo’s heartbeat against his forehead, prompting him to scoot closer and wrap his hands snugly around Reo’s torso. When he feels Reo’s hands slowly slide over his back towards his head and tangle the fingers in his hair, he can breathe out again.

“No, it doesn’t weird me out," Reo starts, a genuine smile forming on his face. "That makes me happy, actually.”

Huh.

The joy of Reo’s answer paired with his adrenaline high overwhelms Nagi. He doesn’t question why or how, and doesn’t acknowledge the surprise in his mind. Whatever he does, he purely moves on instinct now.

He lifts his head a bit and brushes his lips against Reo’s neck, earning himself a tight squeeze on his head. He stops at the side of Reo’s jaw to plaster the skin with small kisses and moves towards his ear and his cheek, but Reo seems to get impatient. The latter moves back and catches his lips on his own desperately, making Nagi immediately comply and melt into the touch of Reo’s soft lips. It doesn’t take long before the kiss gets more heated and lustful, since Nagi has been wanting to do this so badly.

Reo climbs on top of Nagi’s lap, not parting their lips for more than even a second to breathe. Only when Nagi feels the side of his face stinging does he move back again, accompanied by a small “Ow!”

Reo’s face shifts from kissdrunk to concerned as his eyes widen. “Oh shit, I'm sorry!” He cups Nagi’s face and turns it into the light to get a better look at it. “Are you okay?” He asks Nagi, but Nagi isn’t listening. He’s trailing Reo’s face with so much longing in his eyes that Reo has no other choice than crash his lips against his again.

Immediately having forgotten all of his concerns, Reo circles Nagi’s fluffy head once more. Nagi does the same with Reo’s waist, trailing his hands against the skin under his shirt first and then circling it to pull him in even more. When Reo goes to catch his breath and trail his lips along the side of the other’s neck, he breathily asks him something that he just needs to get off his mind.

“So what’s the real reason you’ve been avoiding me?”

Nagi grins in between his panting, he’s pretty sure that the one on top of him knows the answer to that already, and just wants to hear it being said out loud. Nagi moves closer towards the cute crimson ear surrounded by purple and softly speaks to him.

“I... realized I'm in love with you, and I sorta freaked out… and ran away. I'm sorry for making you feel like shit.”

“Mhhm, what a loser…” Reo teases while smiling against Nagi’s neck. He plasters a couple of kisses on that same spot and sucks on the skin to leave a mark.

“Now you’re my loser.”

Nagi can’t contain the happiness from showing on his face. “That’s kind of a downgrade from treasure .”

Reo moves back and smiles at him sweetly, cupping his face again. “What do you want me to call you then?”

Nagi leans forward, touching his forehead against the other. He looks at Reo as if he has the entire world in his arms right now. “How about boyfriend?

Reo nuzzles his face against Nagi’s good side and gives him a kiss to the side of his mouth. “Hmm, I thought you’d never ask.”

“So… you really like me back, then?” Nagi’s in a daze, everything seems too good to be true.

Reo sits up straight again to lock eyes with his now called boyfriend.

“Nagi, I’ve loved you since high school , you dense airhead. Why do you think I worry about you so much? You're the only one who gets to see every side of me. Plus, I just almost choked Raichi to death because he hurt you. ”

Nagi blinks up at him for a second, and affectionately leans into him in a dramatic way. Has he honestly never noticed? Or maybe never thought about it like that? Either way, Reo's completely right, as usual. Such a realization has never made him feel as good as this one, though. “I really am dense, huh…”

To lighten the mood again, he grabs a hold of Reo’s waist again and tickles him, sending the other boy in a fit of laughter. They end up on the floor at the bottom of the stairs, where the laughter gradually dies down and the dancing of their hearts is the only thing left as the boys lie on top of one another in a tight hug.

Nagi blinks up at the ceiling and feels the weight of his best friend on top of him, calming him down completely.

“I love you too, Reo. Probably for a very long time already.”

“I know.” He whispers back, pushing his face into the other’s shoulder and nuzzling it.

“I’m so glad I've found you again.” Nagi says, speaking his mind openly and comfortably for the first time in what feels like forever.

“Me too,” Reo whispers sweetly while making himself completely comfortable in the warmth of Nagi’s embrace. “You know… I’ve never been as happy as I am right now. This whole apocalypse might’ve not been so bad after all.”

“Yeah, it’s kind of fun, too.” Nagi weighs in.

“Yeah, you’re right! I haven’t been bored once since the apocalypse started.” Reo exclaims happily.

Nagi runs his hand through the purple strands of hair and starts softly combing through it. A comfortable silence falls upon them, where they are just enjoying each other’s company.

“I know the plan was to leave after the supply run tomorrow, but we could decide to stay here a little longer if we want… there’s no need for us to rush. I’ll protect you from Shark teeth, of course.”

Reo chuckles. “I don’t think he’ll want to come near me again after what I just did to him.”

Nagi smiles at that. “Good.”

Reo perks his head up and shuffles around a bit so that he’s able to face Nagi. “Yeah, let’s stay here for now. Maybe I can even convince a group of people here to go and fetch your redhead friend from that god awful place, he’d like it better here too.”

Nagi hadn’t thought of his old friend Chigiri in a minute, but Reo’s plan makes him already excited to see him again. “Yeah, he’d love that.”

Reo chuckles and gives him a peck on the jaw before laying his head on his chest again. With Nagi slowly running his fingers through his hair, his breathing gets deeper and deeper until he finally falls asleep, looking like a cat that found the most comfortable box in the world.

Nagi too feels so incredibly calm right now, he could also fall asleep any minute if it wasn't for his heart beating out of his chest. Staying awake, i t suddenly dawns on him how fast the time went by, and how miserable he was just a couple hours ago. And what exactly was he worried about again?

With Reo, he can be himself. He can be honest, and there's no reason to freak out about anything. He can let his mind trail freely and even share it, and he will be appreciated for it, which is more than he could ever ask for.

With Reo, there's no need to worry about anything. He knows this now, and he'll never forget it again.

He thinks back to when he opened his heart to Reo back in the Blue Lock. It didn't seem like life would get any better back then, and then Reo came into his life and just flipped it upside down, just like he did back in high school.

Thinking about this, Nagi gets a little smile on his face as he realizes that Reo was right; Living through the apocalypse is not all that bad after all, not with Reo, at least.

Nagi looks up at the old and withered ceiling, eyes trailing towards the stairs where they had their very first meeting and their very first kiss. The meeting before the apocalypse, the kiss after.

If soulmates actually existed, he had found his own already. Right on the stairs they're laying next to.

And even though these days that very same place is dirty, rundown and destroyed; right now, with Reo in his arms, this very spot is the most comfortable place in the world.

And with that, Nagi falls asleep as well.
