Chapter Text
Bluey:
It was about six o'clock and Mackenzie was getting out of bed trying his best not to disturb Bluey. Unfortunately she still woke up.
Mackenzie - Sorry babe, didn't mean to wake you up.
Bluey - No I've got to get up anyway. I need to say goodbye to you also take the kids to school.
Mackenzie - Alright. You know I'm excited to go to Italy.
Bluey - I'm sure you are. And I have to stay here for three weeks looking after the children. Why can't you stay?
Mackenzie - Because it's my job. I can't just miss it. And I'm sorry that I'm away for a while but I have the entire week off after it so I will spend it all with you.
Bluey - Okay, hope you have a good time.
Mackenzie - Will do. And tell the kids I said bye.
Bluey - Okay, bye Mackenzie.
Mackenzie - Bye Bluey.
He then left the room with his suitcase, jumped into the car and left for the airport, leaving Bluey on her own, well except for their children, but they weren't her husband. She really loved Mackenzie but when he left to go on trips with work she always felt like a bit of her was missing. But she knew that he would be back soon enough. And they had the most perfect family when Mackenzie was at home. He was a great dad and a great husband. Just when he was away, Bluey really missed him.
Her phone then started to buzz. It was her alarm.
Bluey - Oh shut up would you.
She pressed the turn off button on her phone but it didn't work. She tried over and over but nothing.
She then woke up, to her alarm actually going off.
Bluey - Jeez that dream felt like reality.
She then thought how on earth did she dream such a specific scenario, but didn't dwell on it for long. She was more excited to go out to dinner with Mackenzie later, and that was all that could go through her mind.
She got up, had a shower and had some breakfast. She was eating her breakfast slowly and looking at her phone. Bluey then noticed a red heeler appear in the corner of her eye.
Bluey - Morning Bingo, how are you?
Bingo - I'm alright thanks. Your fairly cheerful this morning.
Bluey - Yeah cause I'm going out for dinner with Mackenzie later at that new place.
Bingo - Oh, I see. Let's guess, is he going to stay here for the night and snuggle up with you in bed.
Bluey blushed at the thought of this but it was a good idea to invite him for the night but up until then, it hadn't crossed her mind.
Bluey - I dunno, maybe.
Bingo - Aww, that will be cute.
Bluey - When did I say I would snuggle up with him in bed.
Bingo - You didn't but I know what your like.
Bluey - What am I like?
Bingo - Just when your around Mackenzie you always seem to snuggle up to him.
Bluey - And when he's that soft and handsome, I don't blame myself.
Bingo laughed, You really love him don't you.
Bluey - Yeah I do. He's just the perfect man for me.
Bingo - Well then I'll let you get on.
Bingo then walked out into the garden to do something or other leaving Bluey to think about Mackenzie.
The evening slowly approached, and Bluey was awaiting Mackenzie's arrival. What felt like two hours passed before Mackenzie arrived but really it was 10 minutes.
Before he could even knock on the door, Bluey had flung it open to briefly to allow him in.
Mackenzie - Hi Bluey, are you ready for dinner?
Bluey - Hi Mackenzie, and yeah of course I'm ready. Anyway come in for five minutes.
Just then Bandit walked past.
Bandit - Oh hey Mackenzie, you going out for dinner tonight.
Mackenzie - Yeah, if that's fine with you Mr Heeler.
Bandit - Call me Bandit mate, and yeah as long as you keep my daughter safe.
Mackenzie - Will do uhh, Bandit.
Bandit - Good, good.
Bluey - Oh dad, can Mackenzie stay the night because it might be late when we get back.
Bandit - Bluey, Mackenzie's house is on the other side of the park, it's not that far, but I suppose so. Just one of you will be on the floor.
Bluey - Thanks dad. OK see you soon.
Bandit - Alright you two, have a nice time.
Mackenzie - Thanks
Bluey - We will Dad, bye.
Bluey then closed the front door and walked towards the bus stop with her hand in Mackenzie's.
After a ten minute bus journey and a short walk the two arrived at the restaurant.
It was an italian restaurant which served pizza and pasta.
The two walked in to get a seat.
Waiter - Hello, do you have a reservation.
Mackenzie - Yes under Collie.
Waiter - Right table for two, come this way.
The waiter led them to a nice little table which was enclosed by a booth.
Waiter - Here are your menus, can I get you any drinks
Bluey - A lemonade please.
Mackenzie - Make that two.
Waiter - No problem I'll be back in a bit.
Bluey - Well isn't this nice.
Mackenzie - Isn't it just. The food looks good and the staff seem friendly.
Anyway what are you having.
Bluey - I'm thinking, ooh umm. I think the carbonara sounds nice
Mackenzie - Im having the lasagne. You know I like Italian food. Its just nice, and I wouldn't mind going to Italy on holiday or something.
Bluey - I would too.
The two sat for a while, got their drinks ordered their meals and talked.
Mackenzie - Do you think so.
Bluey - I'm sure, he couldn't have possibly done it without.
Mackenzie - Oh I don't know. Oh did you notice that Jack has been acting a bit weird since Jack and Indy started dating.
Bluey - Yeah I did actually. Do you know why?
Mackenzie - I don't know. Maybe Indy drags Rusty away from Jack and so they spend less time with each other.
Bluey - I dunno, I was half thinking that he might be Gay.
Mackenzie - Really.
Mackenzie then thought about it. It made sence. But they were disturbed by their food arriving.
The two thanked waiter and ate their food. Very little was said whilst they were eating but both enjoyed their meals very much.
Mackenzie - Wow, that was good. And I'm full.
Bluey - For someone who is the dog equivalent of a bottomless pit, that is impressive.
Waiter - Did you enjoy the meals?
Mackenzie - They were excellent. Can we have the bill please.
Waiter - Certainly
Bluey - No dessert then.
Mackenzie - Oh sorry did you want some.
Bluey - No I'm stuffed, I was only joking.
Mackenzie - Oh good.
They got the bill which after drinks and starters had come to about fifty dollars.
Mackenzie - I'll pay.
Bluey - No Mackenzie, that's a lot of money. You can't just spend that on me. Please let us share it.
Mackenzie - No, I wouldn't feel I was doing it properly if I didn't.
Bluey - Fine, but I owe you.
Mackenzie - No you don't, it's fine.
Bluey - Really?
Mackenzie - Really.
The two then walked back to the bus and then home.
It was quite late and everyone was in bed so Bluey and Mackenzie made sure not to make any noise.
They entered Bluey's room and saw the blow up mattress.
Bluey - Don't use that, come and sleep up here with me.
Mackenzie - Are you sure?
Bluey - It's fine. We can just snuggle.
And so they did. They both fell asleep very quickly as they had had a great night and were tired so almost instantly fell asleep.
Bingo who was still awake had to see if she had predicted correctly and so she had. She was also right about them being cute. Right then, it was the cutest thing Bingo had seen in a long time, and it made her happy that Bluey was happy. And indeed they were happy. Very happy, possibly even the happiest. And this would carry on to the next day.
