Chapter Text
Jimin is always the one to complain when it comes to Yoongi. He’s been like that for the past one year and eleven months; god knows how they’ve stayed together that long without snapping each other’s neck. Well, technically, it’s been two years but Jimin won’t let it officially be the beginning of their anniversary until Yoongi is actually awake and functioning like a human being instead of a sloth and rolling around in the bed. All he wants to do is go out like a normal couple since they have both been extremely busy lately, but all Yoongi wants to do is sleep. Which, honestly, Jimin can’t blame him. Since he was hired on as a part-time producer, that seems more full-time than anything; Yoongi’s been working his ass off the past few weeks and rarely has had a break.
“Yoongi, come on. It’s almost noon.” Jimin groans, shaking the lump curled up under the covers.
“Two more hours, please.” Replies the lump and Jimin rolls his eyes and lets out a sigh.
“Do you even know what today is?”
“My only day off to sleep for twenty-four hours straight.”
Jimin pinches the bridge of his nose and resists the urge to roll Yoongi off the bed.
“Min Yoongi,” Jimin starts.
“Park Jiminie,” Yoongi rudely interrupts. “Do you really think I’d forget our two year anniversary? I knew you were about to bitch me out over it, you little shit.” But it was more like Yoongi checked the calendar on his phone because remembering dates and him did not get along. Don’t let Jimin know that though.
“Did you plan anything like you said you were going to do last week?”
“…”
Silence falls over the two for almost a minute until Yoongi clears his throat. “Okay, so maybe I forgot to make plans, but I didn’t forget about our actual anniversary.” He eventually sits up from his cocoon of a blanket and pats the bed for Jimin to sit down.
“Yoongiii,” Jimin whines. “I wanted to go out today since this is our only day off for like, the next two weeks.” He’s pouting now and all Yoongi can do is wrap an arm around his shoulder, pat his head, and try not to look at that adorable pout.
“Do not fear, little Jiminie. There are plenty of things for us to do. We could go for a walk, go hangout with Namjoon and Jin, go to the park….Maybe take a nap...” Yoongi mumbles off, receiving a playful hit from Jimin.
“I can’t believe you’d want to take a nap on today of all days. You’re only allowed to nap on anniversaries when you’re too old to move.” Jimin laughs and Yoongi mumbles something about how he already is too old to move.
They stay in their position for a few minutes in a comfortable silence. Yoongi thinks he’s going to get away with napping for the rest of the day until Jimin speaks up. “Do you remember where we had our first date? Can we go back to that café?”
Yoongi thought that he’d want to go back to the super expensive restaurant he took them on their first ‘official’ date and almost shot the poor boy down until he heard “café.” They hadn’t been by that café since the first time Yoongi agreed to give him one date. All their other anniversaries were either spent with friends or working, except their one year where they spent it watching dumb movies all day because they were too tired to move.
“The café? Are you sure? There are plenty of restaurants we can still get a reservation to.” Yoongi mumbled.
“Yeah, I mean. We haven’t been there in a long time and I’ve been thinking about it lately.” Jimin shrugged, curling himself more into Yoongi’s side. “I think it’d be nice to go back there for a little while. Relive the first moments of the past two years, y’know?”
“God, you’re a hopeless romantic, kid.” Yoongi laughs, shaking his head.
————————————————
It takes Jimin twenty minutes to get Yoongi actually out of the bed and almost fifteen minutes to get the lazy guy to shower and get dressed. When Yoongi doesn’t want to move, Yoongi does not want to move. It’s almost an hour a later before Yoongi is even putting a shirt on while Jimin’s already sitting on the bed, fully dressed.
“…You might as well be the human embodiment of a sloth, Yoongi.” He’s joking, but of course, there’s so much truth behind it. Yoongi just nods his head in agreement, as he slips his shoes on and with a sigh, he is finally ready. But it’s not like Jimin can actually be mad at him for taking his slow ass time getting ready; at least there was no arguing for 20 minutes about why Yoongi needs to get up so he can be productive like there is almost every other day.
They had moved from Yoongi’s tiny apartment into a bigger one in the city, just a few minutes away from the old apartment, so thankfully they weren’t too far from the old café. That wasn’t going to stop Yoongi from mumbling complaints the whole way there with Jimin threatening to beat him whenever Yoongi wanted to sit down at every bench he saw.
“I know you’re tired and I know you need more sleep, but it’s just a little more and we can sit down for a couple of hours.” Jimin reassures his sleepy boyfriend right up until they get to the café.
The café itself hasn’t changed much, save for the new furniture, which is the exact same furniture as before, except newer.
“Talk about a trip down memory lane.” Jimin chuckles, pushing the door open to the café. “They still have the bell, how cute. I remember being a nervous wreck every time that bell rung when I was waiting on you.” Yoongi rolls his eyes and doesn’t bring up how nervous he was himself on that day.
Jimin leads them to the back of the café, not bothering to order since neither of them knows what they want right now besides sleep and just to be in the café.
“Do you remember how mean you were to me back then?” Jimin shakes his head at the thought, his eyes scanning over his soulmate tattoo.
“I still can’t believe how much I resented the soulmate thing, and now look at me.” Yoongi grins, lightly touching Jimin’s wrist. “Still can’t believe you’ll have ‘very swaggy’ on your wrist for the rest of your life.”
Jimin rolls his eyes and lightly flicks Yoongi’s hand. “Those were some choice back then, Min Swag.” Yoongi snickers at him and gestures to his own crude tattoo.
“Like ‘what the fuck’ is any better.”
“Okay, but in my defense, if I can recall correctly, Jungkook slapped the shit out of me for staring at you. What kind of reaction did you expect out of me?” Jimin defends himself.
“Yeah, yeah. Just know that your tattoo is more explainable that mine.” He jokes, knowing good and well that both of their tattoos are probably the weirdest ones out of the entire groups.
They sit in silence for a few minutes, Yoongi’s head on the table while he absentmindedly plays with Jimin’s fingers. They’d came to a silent compromise a long time ago that Yoongi didn’t exactly like forcing small talk on dates. He’d rather sit in silence and enjoy the moment than force a conversation he didn’t want to be a part of and not enjoy himself.
“…Remember all those muffins you bought?” He’s the first to speak this time with a snort, looking up to see a pained look of ‘please don’t bring that up’ on Jimin’s face.
“Sadly. You didn’t even eat a muffin, everyone else fought over them.” Jimin whines. “It was like the damn hunger games back there.”
Yoongi chuckles. “I forgot I was hungry, and can you blame me? Didn’t you start maniacally giggling because of something?”
“It was because I got hit with all these feelings all of a sudden. It was like… You know when you know something’s just meant to be and you worried for two days over nothing? Yeah, it was like that. I remember when Taehyung texted me that you wanted to meet with me, I was terrified.” Jimin sighs, leaning back against his chair.
“Terrified of what?”
“…There was a lot I thought about the day we meet up.” He sucks in a breath as if it’s painful for him to recall, and it is. “I didn’t know if you were actually going to show up, or just show up to make fun of me, or hell. Wait ‘till you knew something was up and then walk out on me.” His voice quiets down by the last sentence, and he’s afraid to look at Yoongi to see what kind of face he’s giving him.
“Man, I really was an asshole back then. You guys weren’t joking around about that.” Yoongi can only pout and lace his fingers through Jimin’s. “I’m sorry, I had no idea I put all that in your head.”
“No, no, it’s okay.” Jimin reassures him with a smile that makes his eyes crinkle up in the way Yoongi loves. “I mean, you stayed and it’s been two years, so I doubt you’ll be going anywhere anytime soon.”
Just as Yoongi’s about to tell Jimin he’s lame and still a hopeless romantic, his phone goes off. Taehyung’s loud, blaring scream of a ringtone that wakes Yoongi up so many times during the night that he’s ready to strangle him the next time Jimin brings him over. He wonders why Jimin still has that damn ringtone.
TaeTae:
Hey, we’re totally not doing something for urs and Minnie’s anniversary. Pls stop by the bar on ur way home if ur out or come over after u two stop banging ok.
If Yoongi knew that Taehyung called him Minnie behind his back, Yoongi would definitely strangle him.
“What’s that sleep-depriver wanting now?”
“I think the guys are doing something at the bar. We should head over there soon.” Jimin huffs at his phone as it goes off again.
TaeTae:
Don’t lie and say ur at home bc Jungkook came past the cafe and saw u two sitting in there. Love u, Jiminie. Happy anniversary u two lovebirds! <3
Jimin lets out a groan. “I know you want to go home and sleep, but he says Jungkook’s already saw us out and they’ll be upset if we don’t stop by for a few minutes.”
“God, I hate them so much. I don’t even know why I’m still friends with them.” Yoongi lies as he sits up in his chair to stretch. He knows why he’s still friends with them. They may be annoying little fuckers, but he loves them to death.
“You love them too much and plus Jin gives you free drinks.” Jimin snorts, typing back a reply of ‘Kim Taehyung, I swear I will murder u and Jungkook both one day. We’ll be over there in a minute.’ He’s not wrong though, the amount of alcohol Jin has supplied Yoongi with in the time they’ve known each other is unreal. It’s surprising Yoongi didn’t develop an alcohol dependency to get him through the crash after his on stage high.
“You’re right. I only love Jin for making me an alcoholic every night we’re at the bar.” Yoongi grins, but truthfully, he’s really not performed at the bar in a while. Ever since Jimin and him moved and he was hired on under a music company, he’s been too busy to actually perform. Sure, they visit the bar a few times a week, but with how busy he gets, he’s hardly found the time to write his own music to perform at the bar. “Okay, let’s hurry up and get over there so we can go home and nap.”
Jimin can’t help but roll eyes at him. “I won’t need to carry you, will I?”
“I don’t know, can you? I might be too tired to walk.” Yoongi tries his best to deadweight on his poor unsuspecting boyfriend behind him, but Jimin’s reflexes are too fast and before he knows it, he’s being pushed out of the café.
———————
They make it to the bar in what feels like record speed to Yoongi, but to Jimin, who was practically dragging him the whole way, it felt a lot longer. Jin and Namjoon were cleaning up when the pair stumbled their way into the empty bar.
“Ah! My two favorite people besides Joonie and Jungkook.” Jin grins at the couple, but it’s not a Jin-grin. There’s something sly behind that look on the normally peaceful, human embodiment of heaven itselfs face. Jimin’s becoming wary of Taehyung’s texts now.
“How’s the day been? I’m surprised you even got Yoongi to come out with him being overworked like that.” Namjoon steps in.
“I’ve still got charm.” Jimin grins, earning a nudge from Yoongi in return. The four become so immersed in their conversation about Yoongi’s work life, none of them notice the three most annoying members of the group sneak up behind the couple of the day.
“HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!” Taehyung, Jungkook, and Hoseok all scream at the same time and there’s probably some horns and noisemakers going off at the same time, but Jimin’s too terrified to think straight. The three scare Jimin first, who then scares Yoongi, sending the couple into each other’s clutches. Namjoon and Jin get scared for only a minute before they realize it’s just the boys who’d been planning for this moment for the past month.
A silence settles over the group, the three noisy ones are grinning like idiots at the wide-eyed faces of their friends. Yoongi’s the first one to speak. “…Have I ever mentioned how much I fucking hate you guys?” He practically hisses, sending everyone else into a fit of laughter.
Jimin moves out of Yoongi’s death grip on him to start beating on his friend. “You could’ve killed me!” He starts kicking at Taehyung who takes the beating like a champ. “Do you know how bad that scared me, you ass! You can’t go around giving everyone a freaking heart attack like that!” By this point, he’s just chasing his friend around as if it’s actually going to do any good to beat him for it.
Jungkook gets over the excitement almost immediately and goes to pester his brother, Yoongi thinks he hears something about a cake, but the thoughts ripped out his mind when Hoseok uses his shoulder as an arm rest and lets out a sigh. “It’s been two years, god.”
“A long two years.” Yoongi agrees quietly with a laugh.
“I still remember us bullying you about giving the poor kid a chance. Did I not tell you that if you didn’t, you’d regret it one day?”
“Not everyone can fall in love as fast as you and Taehyung did.” Yoongi shakes his head, watching the two friends who were now in a group hug with a poor, unsuspecting Jungkook that was forcibly dragged into it but all Yoongi’s seeing is Jimin’s blinding smile and how adorable he looks when he’s laughing.
“I think you fell a lot quicker than you want to think you did. You’re stubborn about stuff like that. Didn’t you spend like the first month you two were together not acknowledging it was an actual relationship?” Hoseok laughs.
“I acknowledge it now, that’s all that matters. I can’t change the past.” Yoongi snaps back, elbowing Hoseok’s side gently. “Plus, I was scared. What if Jimin didn’t want to stay with me, y’know? I was super grouchy and shit back then.”
“He’s been in love with you since day one, you could’ve set his clothes on fire, and he’d still want to be around you. Why do you think he was so adamant about making you give him a shot?” He sighs and gives Yoongi’s hair a little ruffle. “But look at you now; I’ve never seen you look at another human being like that before.”
“What’re you talking about, like what?”
“I don’t know how to describe it. Like, there’s just so much love between you two, you can feel it. You look at him like he’s the light of your life or something.” Hoseok’s always been the one to go overboard on the sappy and it always makes Yoongi scrunch his nose up.
“He is, you dumbass.” Is all Yoongi can mumble before the light of his life is clinging onto him for dear life while giggling like a child.
“Jin baked a cake for us!” Jimin’s excited and Yoongi wonders sometimes if he’s actually dating a little kid. “Come on, you two let’s go before Taehyung and Kookie eat the entire thing.”
“You guys are the wooorst.” Yoongi groans out as Jimin’s literally drags him by his arm to the back room where Jin has a cake set out on a table, knife in hand.
“Are you sure you want to be telling me I’m the worst when I’m holding a knife?” Jin jokes, pointing the knife in Yoongi’s direction.
Everyone rolls their eyes at the mother of the group and mumble something about Jin being way too sweet to even harm the cake he made, which isn’t far from the truth since he’s handing the knife to Hoseok to do the cutting.
“Okay, okay. Before we do anything, Namjoon and I came up with a little something.” Hoseok smiles. “It’s been a while since we’ve had Suga around to rap for us, so we came up with a little music hoping we could get something out of him.”
“No, no, guys, I couldn’t. I’m dried out from producing so much lately.” Yoongi’s shutting it down before he even wants to give it a chance because he’s terrified he’ll fuck something up.
“Come ooon, Yoongi. It’s just us! It’s been so long since you’ve rapped, you need to get your juices flowing.” Namjoon reaches over and pats his shoulder in reassurance. “You still have it in you, I know it.”
Yoongi thinks long and hard for what feels like a good hour, but within thirty seconds he’s made up his mind. “Alright, alright. Start up the music.”
Namjoon plays the music immediately after Yoongi finishes speaking; everyone’s looking around like it’s a murder victim instead of some music playing.
“It took me a week to make this, don’t disappoint me.” Namjoon lightly scolds Yoongi, who’s trying to think of at least something to say.
By this point the rest of the group are clapping with the beat and yelling at Yoongi to hurry up and go, Jimin cheering the hardest out of all of them.
“Okay, okay, okay.” Yoongi waves his hands like that’s going to calm down the group of rabid friends while he mentally prepares himself before he starts without a hitch. “My name is S-U-G-A, other rappers all fall behind me. Same as always, I tease my tongue over this beat, all your raps make me sleepy. Shall we rewind the CD? Our boys make the women cry…Fuck me sideways.” The words came naturally at first, flowing out of him as if he’s been rapping since birth, up until his mind went blank at the last second. The group still cheered him on, Jimin always cheering the hardest for his boyfriend until Namjoon interrupted.
“Hey, hey…Can Jimin rap?” Namjoon’s full of curiosity and this shows it. “I mean, he’s lived with you for the past two years and something’s bound to rub off on him.” Suddenly, the entire group starts encouraging Jimin to rap, or sing, or do something instead of stand there.
“I can’t rap, but I can try.” Jimin clears his throat as Namjoon turns the music up a little bit. “My name is…Jimin; my rapping skills will make the other rappers here wet their pants. Taehyung, please get out because you smell a little fishy. If you need anything, please, look me up in…advance…” He trails off the end.
Yoongi has never been more ashamed of Jimin than he is now.
“Get out, please.” Everyone starts bullying Jimin about his rap, which wasn’t…that bad when it started out. Yoongi moves to protect his not-so-great-at-rapping boyfriend from the wrath of Taehyung after what Jimin said. Which his wrath was more like him trying to flick the living daylights out of his poor friend who was still being harassed for his bad rap.
“I won’t do it again, I’m sorry.” Jimin laughs. “I guess living with a rapper for two years doesn’t mean his skill will rub off on me.”
Jin cuts the conversation short by directing everyone’s attention back to Hoseok, who still has the knife in his hand. “Are we going to eat this cake or not? I don’t think Hobi should be trusted with a knife.”
“Speak for yourself.” Hoseok rolls his eyes. “The couple of the day gets their pick on what part of the cake they want first. It’s a half-and-half cake, I think, but I couldn’t tell you which sides chocolate and which sides vanilla, so just go for it.”
Jimin steps forward to admire the cake, which definitely is not store-bought. There’s two little stick figures badly drawn on in icing with a giant heart between them and “Happy Anniversary!” scribbled out in the corner. “I want Yoongi’s part of the cake.” He points to the stick figure he assumes is Yoongi’s, since there’s what looks like a snapback on its head.
Yoongi takes Jimin’s part of the cake, Hoseok laughing at how horrible the two look on the cake. He cuts the two their slices, plops them on separate plates, and hands it to the boys. “Jin put a lot of work into this; you better eat every bit of it.” He jokes, poking the knife in their direction.
Jimin waves off the knife-wielding weirdo and moves to sit on the couch, Yoongi trailing behind him while everyone else gets a slice of cake. Jimin pulls his legs up on the couch, leaning his body towards Yoongi so he could rest his head on his shoulder comfortably. Yoongi wasn’t much for PDA, but he didn’t mind so much around their friends.
“Aww, they’re adorable.” Taehyung coos at the pair, sitting on the couch on the other side of the room.
“Not as adorable as you, babe.” Hoseok cuts in from his spot behind the cake, causing the entire room to gag. At least Yoongi and Jimin were only gross like that behind closed doors.
“Hey, Tae?” Jimin’s squinting in Taehyung’s direction. There’s a small glint coming from his hand and he can’t tell if it’s the fork or something else. “Is there something on your hand?”
The room was already quiet but it feels like the entire room became empty and everyone’s looking at Taehyung, who has a mouth full of cake with a look of panic in his eyes.
Taehyung swallows his cake and sets the plate down beside him, holding his left hand in his right hand. “Oh, um. Well…” He starts, clearing his throat. He’s never been good at telling big news. “Hobi and I were gonna wait until later to tell you guys, but…We’re engaged.” He’s grinning now, flashing the silver band around his left ring finger to the group. It’s a good thing Jimin was finished with his cake since the plate was dropped as he rushed over to his friend to make sure this was a legit ring.
“You guys are getting married?!” Jimin gasps, looking back and forth between the couple who’s both nodding their heads. “I can’t believe it, that’s amazing!” He hugs Taehyung around the neck, hardly being careful of the plate in his friends hand while Taehyung can only hug him back with one arm.
“I always figured Namjoon and Jin would be the first to get married out of all of us.” Yoongi interrupts with a laugh.
“Nah, neither of us aren’t really the marriage type.” Jin shakes his head. “I mean, we’ve been together, what, almost four years? There wouldn’t be any significant difference in being married, so why waste money on one if it’s not going to make us any happier than we are? Not that it’s a bad thing though; I knew those two would end up tying the knot at some point.” He laughs, slinging and arm around Hoseok’s shoulder.
“We’re all so happy for you two. When’d you pop the big question?” Namjoon asks, nudging Hoseok’s side.
“Two days ago. I was going to do it sometime last week but I kept chickening out.” Hoseok answers, shaking his head. “We went walking by the river and I remembered I had the ring on me so it was either now or never.”
“I don’t know why he chickened out so much; he should’ve known I’d say yes.” Taehyung laughs, watching Jimin who’s looking over his ring in awe. “Yoongi, do you think you two will ever get married?”
“Honestly, I don’t know. I mean, it seems nice when I think about it, but it’s also terrifying at the same time because you never know what’s going to happen in the future.” Yoongi replies with a sigh. “But that’s just me, I overthink things.”
“Yoongi’s scared of long-term commitment,” Jimin mumbles. “But I’d like to get to married. Not right now, but maybe someday.” He laughs, leaving Taehyung to go back to Yoongi’s side.
“It’s not that I’m scared of long-term commitment, I mean two years is a long time.” He shrugs, resting his arm on the back of the couch. “I guess I’m like Jin, I’m happy and I’ll probably be with Jimin for the rest of my life. I don’t really think I’ll need a document to state I will.”
Jimin nods in agreement, curling up to Yoongi’s side. “Plus I don’t think we’d ever be able to really afford a nice wedding anytime soon. Our paycheck’s are going to bills, food, and dog food.”
“Get rid of the dogs.” Taehyung suggests with a grin. “There’s room at my place.”
“I would never!” Jimin gasps, grasping the pillow beside him to chuck over at his friend for even suggesting that. He loves those dogs too much to the point where it breaks his heart when he has to stay overtime at the studio and can’t get home to Yoongi and the dogs until late.
“Jimin loves those dogs more than he loves life itself.” Yoongi teases him, but it’s not like it’s far from the truth. Jimin lightly nudges Yoongi in the side, shaking his head and trying to hold back a yawn.
“Looks like some little boy is getting sleepy.” Jin teases the younger, earning a grumble and a middle finger from him. “I think we’ve harassed you two long enough, you should head home.” The rest of the group whines in protest but ultimately lets them leave.
They all say their goodbyes and give the long-awaited affection from the tired couple before practically kicking them out of the place and sending them on their happy way. It’s not much longer before they arrive home, and the first thing Jimin does is crawl into bed with the dogs. It takes Yoongi a little bit longer to get in bed with him, but he’s not as tired as he was earlier, so he opts for sitting up in bed to watch a movie.
“Thank you for going out with me today, Yoongi.” Jimin says, moving to rest his head on Yoongi’s lap. “I know how tired you probably are, you should probably sleep since it’s getting late.”
“I’m not that tired.” Yoongi chuckles, trailing his fingers through Jimin’s hair. “But you don’t have to thank me, isn’t it practically a rule I have to go out with you on anniversaries?”
“We did this all day on our one year.”
“True, but that’s because neither of us wanted to do anything.”
“You didn’t want to do anything today either.” Jimin mumbles, wrapping his arm around Yoongi’s leg.
“I wanted to; I was just too lazy to move.” He shakes his head, light tugging on Jimin’s hair.
“You’re going to make me go to sleep if you keep playing with my hair, Yoongs.”
“Then sit up here so I can cuddle you and be a super gross boyfriend before we both fall asleep because you deserve it for putting up with me for two years of your life.” Yoongi laughs, nudging Jimin as he sits up and immediately curls into Yoongi’s side.
“I deserve a lot of things for putting up with you.” Jimin jokes, tracing patterns on the other’s shirt. “It’s still hard to believe it’s been two years. It feels like yesterday we were arguing in the bathroom at the bar.”
“Before you know it, we’ll be pushing eighty and you’ll have to wheel me away from my soundboard before I go deaf if I’m not already.” Yoongi laughs and Jimin’s forcing himself not to smother him in kisses because that was the cutest thing Yoongi’s said in a long time.
“I can’t even imagine you as an old man; I bet you’ll still be handsome as hell.” He shakes his head, leaning up to plant a kiss on the other’s cheek.
“I bet you’ll still be the cutest thing.” Yoongi teases, gently pinching Jimin’s cheek and earning a high-pitched whine in return. “I feel like I don’t tell you that I love you enough. I love you, Jiminie.”
It’s not like Yoongi doesn’t tell Jimin he loves him often, because he does, but he doesn’t like it as much as he likes showing it. To Yoongi, saying you love someone and actually showing them you love them is two completely different things. Yoongi likes to show his love in small things like, bringing dinner to Jimin at the studio when he’s working overtime, leaving notes around the house when he feels like it, letting Jimin hog all the cover even though he’s about to freeze to death without it and letting the dogs sleep in the room with them sometimes.
“I love you too.” Jimin smiles, kissing the corner of Yoongi’s mouth. “A lot. I love you bunches.”
Jimin’s idea of love is more like a physical comfort than anything. Jimin likes to tell Yoongi he loves him a lot, but he also likes to stay latched on to Yoongi for long periods. He likes to stay by Yoongi’s side as he’s producing music, maybe come give him kisses every now and then and cuddle up to him if he’s not too busy. Sometimes, when Yoongi is making breakfast for them, Jimin’s latched on to his backside like a cute koala that’s almost overgrown its mother. Jimin likes to hook his pinky onto Yoongi’s pinky while they’re out walking if Yoongi isn’t in the mood for full-on hand holding.
“Here’s to many more years between us.” Yoongi smiles, turning his head so that his forehead is against Jimin’s.
Yoongi will never forget the week after Jimin moved in with him, even if it was one of their roughest times together. They clashed over everything, where to put the bed, who sleeps on what side, who’s getting up to make breakfast and who makes sure neither of them will starve to death. He remembers the blood, sweat, and tears that went into making it work. Well, mostly tears. He said so much to Jimin he wishes he could take back, but he knows he can’t. He knew he truly loved Jimin when the younger still wanted to live with him and put the past behind them. He’s never once brought up those things Yoongi said back then in recent arguments even though he has a bad habit of throwing things in Jimin’s face.
“Here’s to all our future anniversaries and hope that we can still tolerate each other in twenty years.” Jimin laughs, cupping Yoongi’s cheek in his hand as they pressed their lips together in a gentle kiss. It’s not much longer before sleep hits the two like a brick and they fall asleep, Yoongi hugged up tightly to Jimin who’s facing him with an equally strong grip around the other.
Yoongi thinks about the past a lot, and he has many regrets in his past. This one, however, giving a chance to the boy who showed up in his life by chance, fate, whatever he wants to call it, was someone he’s glad he gave a chance to. If he hadn’t, it’s untelling where he would be right now and how much he’d regret not being with Jimin. He’s thankful Jimin was strong willed and didn’t give up on that one chance. He’s thankful he’s got someone like Jimin to spend the rest of his life with.
