Chapter Text
Hundreds of stars were shining brightly in the dark blue sky that hovered over Camp Wawanakwa. It was right after the costume challenge with Topher as the host instead of Chris as he was still injured.
Sky was back at sitting on the dock of shame still wearing her outfit. As the night got colder, she wrapped herself in her yellow sweater that was tied around her waist. She continued to admire the diamonds floating above as a certain tall man sat beside her.
"The stars look nice."
She nodded at his words, knowing who the deep voice belonged to. Her eyes were still glued to the beauty above as she responded to him.
"You know today wasn't so bad. I think I'm saying this because of the challenge though."
Perhaps it was. Instead of trying to stay alive on a deadly challenge that could kill you, having something light that allowed you to create something of your own was relieving.
"I should probably change out of my costume... but I'm not sure if I want to. I'm too proud to take this off."
She finally takes her eyes off the stars and admires the costume she came up with instead.
"Well, you should be proud. You look really cool."
He looked at her with a smile on his face. Well, to be honest, anything Sky does is really cool to Trent. In short, Trent is in love with the athletic girl. But he's not willing to admit that yet.
Sky smiles appreciatively at his compliment.
"Heh, thanks. I like to cosplay with my sister sometimes."
Her smile grew wider at the fond memories of her sister. While she does miss her sister, winning the 1 million was still a big deal to her. Her athletic self is naturally competitive and she doesn't dare get voted off so early.
While Sky may be admiring her costume and the stars above them, Trent is rather admiring the girl beside him. In fact, he was drawn to her costume while the challenge was happening.
He continues to admire her before he tells her tells her adoration without half a mind.
"You look amazing cosplaying."
Sky's face turns pink at his words as she exclaims
"Ahhh, so many compliments!"
She quickly covers her face when she could feel her face growing warm in embarrassment and the overwhelming feeling of her getting complimented so much by the contestants back in the challenge and Trent right now. However, that doesn't mean she doesn't like it as she laughs at her own behavior.
The taller of the two smiled as he watched how shy she was acting. He turns back to the sky as he points to one of the stars shining brightly and away from the others.
"You know... that star reminds me a little bit of you."
Sky turns her gaze back to the beauty she was admiring before.
"Where?" She asks, trying to find the star he's pointing to, her eyes flickering all over the dark sky with her pointed finger up in the air. Despite her best efforts, she could not locate Trent's so-called star that reminded him of her.
Trent chuckles at her failed attempts and grabs her hand and points her finger at the ball of fire he was so immersed in.
"There. The one that shines brighter than the others that are just as strong. It's not worried about how bright it is. It's just enjoying the calming atmosphere. Just like you."
He smiled at her with an evident blush on his face at his cheesy words.
"I can't imagine they'd name a star Sky. That'd be a bit unfitting."
Sky giggled, mirroring his fond smile.
Trent laughed in response to her remarks.
"You're right, it's just so beautiful."
They sit quietly for a moment to take in the view, but then Sky starts a new topic.
"Um.. you seem to be getting pretty close with Taylor already. She was very supportive of you back there."
She felt a heavy pit of jealousy in her gut as she spoke those words to the other.
"Yeah, she was the one who helped me figure out the name for my persona."
Well sort of. Trent cringes looking back at the memories of Taylor suggesting the most ridiculous names he has ever heard. Thankfully he did get inspiration from her ridiculous names and managed to turn them into something better. It took 9 absurd suggestions but he got there in the end.
"Are you... interested in her?"
She cursed herself for asking such a personal question. But her question still stands.
Trent immediately voiced his objection
"What? Of course not! Why would I? Taylor is a nice girl but she's still a bit annoying and... sexual."
And a bitch but Trent is too respectful to say that out loud.
Sky smiles at that
"Okay, okay you don’t have to explain!" she laughed
"But I won’t deny I’m glad to hear that."
She confesses relief evident in her voice as she looks away with her face turning a bit red.
Trent chuckles at her words
"Yeah, she's just not the right girl for me."
"And do you know who is?" Sky turns her head to look back at him with a raised eyebrow and a smirking face.
Trent blushes as her face gets closer to his
"... I think I do." He answered and looked away
At this point, she knows or thinks she's figured out who he's thinking about
"Hmm, she must be very lucky to have you in her life." She pretends to be oblivious but Trent can tell this is just an act
"I can say the same. I'm sure the right guy you know is very grateful to have you in his life too." He smiles at her with his green hooded eyes.
"Very." She replies, staring back at him.
His face gets closer to hers as the tension in the air is obvious. Neither of them decided to stop and pull their faces away. Not this time. It just felt so right. The tension was palpable, the electricity between them almost tangible. They were both acutely aware of each other, and it was as if nothing else mattered in that moment. Finally, Sky closes the distance between them and they share their first kiss.
They both feel fireworks set off inside them as the kiss feels so wonderful for both of them. It's been so long since they've been interested in each other, and they've always wanted to show the other their love and affection. And it's finally happening.
Trent wrapped his arms around Sky's waist and Sky wrapped her arms around the taller's neck as they held each other tightly.
They're both so caught up in their love, they didn't realize they were at the edge of the dock. Trent goes to hold her face and accidentally slipped off in the process of it and fell into the water causing Sky to fall along with him.
"WAH-" The girl screeches
Trent laughed and wrapped his arms around the shorter so they could hug properly. Sky laughs with him in response and nuzzles into his embrace to hug him too as they hold each other in the cold water.
Sky's smile falters slightly as she remembers where they are
"I forgot we can't have this all the time. This is Total Drama after all."
She looked down in sadness at the thought of this peace coming to an end
Trent tilts her chin to look at him as his thumb rubs her cheek to reassure her
"Hey, it's okay. Right now, it doesn't matter. Right now, let's just enjoy what we have, okay?" He gives her a comforting look that brings a smile to the other's face as he hugs her tighter.
"Sounds good to me." She says tiredly but her love is still evident in her voice
She rests her head on his shoulder with the star shining brightly over them as it watches them hold each other in a loving embrace that comforts them both.
The newly found couple continued to hug each other without caring about their surroundings, completely transporting themselves to a world that was reserved for them and them only.
《♡》
"When and how did you realize you liked me?" Sky asks
They both finally got out of the water in case they might get sick if they stayed longer. That doesn't stop them as they both still hold each other in a warm embrace despite their clothes being soaked wet.
They sat on the dock of shame going back to admire the stars, especially the 'Sky' star that caught their attention earlier.
Sky was on Trent's lap, her head leaning against his chest. She looks up as she asks the previous question. Her eyes are wide open in curiosity as to what his answer will be.
"God, probably ever since we met."
Trent simply answers with a slightly pink face
Sky looks at him with a skeptical and teasing smile
"Oh c'mon, there has to be another better moment you fell in love with me."
Trent laughed and looked at her with a fond smile and a glint in his bright green eyes
"Oh yeah? What if there isn't and I'm telling the truth?"
"Well to be fair, I was a mess back when we had our first conversation at the lake! Besides, you didn't even know much about me back then." She thinks back, looking down at her hands.
Okay, she wasn't 'such a mess' like she said she was. She was just overwhelmed about the show as she sat on the ground beside the lake, admiring the view just like the stars before. Trent was there reassuring her, saying she'll do well, which gave her the reassurance she needed.
"I knew you were too smart to be on this show."
She looks at him with wide eyes full of disbelief
Trent chuckles at her expression as he continues to explain
"Oh c'mon now Sky, you're an athlete that's one step closer to getting into the Olympics! You don't need this hell of a show to achieve that."
His eyes soften at her as he finishes
"If I didn't join this show I would miss the chance to meet you, would I?" She looks back at him mirroring his soft gaze and a soft smile
"You're right and for that I'm grateful."
He places a kiss on her forehead bringing flushed cheeks to the girl's face
"You're an idiot. And I thought I was the only optimistic one in the show." She responds in a flustered tone looking away, butterflies in her stomach despite the two of them literally kissing earlier
"Well get ready for another one cause I just kissed the girl of my dreams!" Trent happily whoops as he places his chin on the top of her head and pulls her tighter.
Sky laughed at his enthusiasm as they continued to stay in each other's arms before calling it a night and leaving the dock to go to sleep in their separate cabins.
Trent walked Sky back to her team's cabin with the taller leaving for his with a flushed face after she gave him a quick kiss goodnight and giggled as she watched him leave in a daze.
The end :))
