Chapter Text
Yaz would never understand how she ended up this incredibly lucky to love an impossible woman like the Doctor. Someone so ancient, who had seen it all, and yet continued to view the universe with a perpetual sense of child-like wonder. Millions of years of history were at her fingertips, yet she continued to find joy in even the littlest things. Yet, she continued to choose Yaz above all else.
The women stood side by side, fingers intertwined, features illuminated softly by the stars filling the sky above. They were back in time, in the clearing of an endless forest that remained yet untouched by humans. As the Doctor looked up at the sky, the awe on her face was immeasurable, as if it was all brand new to her. Yaz knew she should be looking up too, but that was a futile endeavor. The most beautiful sight to her would always be the woman standing right by her side.
When the Doctor finally looked back at Yaz, the same reverence she granted the sky never slipped from her features for a moment. Not only was Yaz lucky to love the Doctor, but she was lucky to be loved by her. At that moment, Yaz couldn’t find a single word to describe the weight of the sheer adoration she was feeling. So instead of speaking, she simply wrapped an arm around the Doctor’s waist, the blonde immediately wrapping her arms around Yaz’s shoulders and resting their heads together.
Just for now, it was as though they were the only people in the entire universe.
