Following the battle with the Sphere Ophiuca, Felix’s headaches have become apparent, but that primarily has to do with the proximity of the Ultimate Aegis. And thanks to Tornadus’ cunning, the Topholos Varkiri now equipped with said Ultimate Aegis, the Miraculous team must be as careful as they could be.
Fei decided to stay for a little while, mostly to take care of Felix. Marinette is grateful for Fei staying with them, especially since she’s become a reliable ally to her and Felix. However, Felix himself was unaware of the Ultimate Aegis’ existence, something that was later confirmed by Icarus.
“So, what are we going do about it now?” A confused Felix asks.
“I would say we take the Aegis back, but that’s easier said than done.”, remarked Icarus. “It’s probably with Tornadus, I reckon.”
“Then why don’t we get the Aegis ourselves?”, asked Marinette.
“We can’t really brute force our way into gaining the Aegis, Marinette, since that thing is extremely powerful.”
“Oh…”
Elsewhere, the Topholos Varkiri began to start his rampage, terrorizing the Parisians using its remote feathers, as well as using the Ultimate Aegis to teleport them to other dimensions. While all of this was going on, Kagami and Zoe were hanging out when they caught wind of Topholos Varkiri’s attack.
Transforming into Ryuko and Vesperia, the two promptly began to take on the Varkiri, but it was of no use, as the Ultimate Aegis nearly immobilized the two. Luckily, Marc and Nathaniel, who were alerted by Alya about the Varkiri, were able to assist.
As Icarus was explaining to Felix and Marinette about the Ultimate Aegis and how it works, the Phoenix Miraculous started alerting them about the Topholos Varkiri, prompting them to head towards the scene. Meanwhile, Tornadus, anticipating their arrival, intercepted the two. This forced them to transform on such short notice. But even then, this wasn’t enough.
Tornadus had gotten significantly stronger since their last encounter, partially due to the ever-growing power of the Dark Phoenix Miraculous and his deepening bond with Morbius. It’s thanks to this new power that Tornadus was able to whale on both the Exceed Phoenix and Ladybug.
Ryuko, Vesperia, Rooster Bold, and Caprikid don’t fare much better either, as the Topholos Varkiri began to curb-stomp them all as well. Rooster Bold tried to copy its powers using Sublimation, but to no avail. The Ultimate Aegis’ powers prove to be too powerful to copy.
This allowed both parties to effortlessly defeat the Miraculous team, with Tornadus gloating his victory as he does so. Much as the team tried to attack Tornadus, he ended up escaping along with the Topholos Varkiri. Marc, frustrated by their defeat, wanted to use Sublimation again, but with no dice.
Contemplating their loss, the team retreated to the Patisserie. This was when Icarus revealed the truth about his relationship with Felix.
“I know most of you aren’t exactly aware of this, but…”, contemplates Icarus, who was looking at Felix knowing that said truth would hurt regardless. “The Ultimate Aegis contains the memories of the previous wielders of the Phoenix Miraculous. Not to mention, Felix is the reincarnation of the person who created it.”
“Wait, what?!” A bemused Felix wonders. “Why didn’t you tell me that beforehand?”
“The Phoenix Miraculous works differently compared to many others, in which all of its users are technically the same person.”
This created a sense of despair within Felix, who was initially in denial when all of this was revealed. But then the dream he had not too long ago had hit him again.
“Hey Icarus, was that connected to the dream I had?”, he asks.
“Unfortunately, yes.”, Icarus replied. “The memories of your previous incarnation are beginning to resurface. And if you want to know more, we must get the Ultimate Aegis back.”
Determined to know more, Felix agreed. But he and the rest of the Miraculous team began to wonder, how are they going to remove the Ultimate Aegis from the Topholos Varkiri?
Elsewhere, the three Alter Gears began plotting against Tornadus, this time involving the Ultimate Aegis. This raised some concerns between Relik and Taurus, who become concerned with Sylphy’s obsession with defeating Tornadus. She seemed unfazed by all of this.
“Don’t even try to stop me, you two! I’ll do anything to stop him, no matter what!” Tornadus then appears in front of Sylphy, eavesdropping on the entire plot.
“Going somewhere, Sylphy?”
Transforming into the Dark Exceed Phoenix, he attacks Sylphy without any second thoughts. To make matters worse, he orders the Topholos Varkiri to capture both Relik and Taurus. The 3 Alter Gears are now at his mercy, but Sylphy tried to fight back.
Surprisingly, she was able to hold herself off. But the Dark Exceed Phoenix was able to keep up with her. Despite her speed, Sylphy was shot down via the Dark Sigmaxium Beam, leaving her defenseless in the process.
However, she was saved by Melody, who was using Sphere-Reflekdoll against Tornadus. She then re-transformed into Sphere Ophiuca to protect Sylphy against Tornadus. As she was about to attack, Tornadus used the Topholos Varkiri’s Ultimate Aegis to escape.
Transforming back, Sylphy began to wonder why Melody went and protected her. “It’s probably because of what Relik and Taurus told me.”
“You’re starting to care about me, aren’t you?”, asked Sylphy.
“To be honest, I’d say yes.”
Relik and Taurus were eventually freed, allowing the four to part ways. Meanwhile, Tornadus and the Topholos Varkiri figure out what to do next.
“So, what’s your next plan, Master?”, asks the Topholos Varkiri.
“Well, I’m not so sure.”, Tornadus replied. “Especially since I need to find a way to defeat the Exceed Phoenix.”
After several minutes of brainstorming, Tornadus considered using the Ultimate Aegis to create a black hole. However, the Topholos Varkiri objected, knowing the massive amounts of casualties they would cause. This was the least of their problems, as Tornadus had found out that the Aegis is becoming unstable.
Meanwhile, Melody and Nooroo began to talk once again. The latter was surprised that she helped Sylphy. “I just felt it would be the right thing, Nooroo.”
“I guess you’re not as bad as Gabriel, after all.”
“Then again, I feel like I’m just playing along.”
“Wait a minute, you’re not really evil?”
“I guess.”
However, as they were continuing their conversation, a beam of light had shot through the sky. As it turns out, the Topholos Varkiri had finally equipped the Ultimate Aegis, allowing it to become even more of a genuine threat to the Miraculous team.
Tornadus gloats at the mere sight of this, planning to use it against both the Parisians and the Miraculous team.
