Kai'Sa was tending the bar at the Blind Siren, a popular bar in the heart of the city. It was a Friday night, and she was covering for Akali, who was out sick. She had been working for a few hours when she saw the familiar figure walk through the door.
It was Evelynn.
Her heart skipped a beat, and she quickly composed herself. She remembered their previous interaction, where she had spilled coffee all over Evelynn. She wondered if Evelynn remembered her.
Evelynn walked up to the bar and took a seat. “Hi there,” she said with a smile. "Can I get a drink?"
"Of course. What can I get for you?"
Evelynn ordered a drink, and as Kai'Sa was making it, Evelynn spoke up.
"You know, I think we've met before," Evelynn said. "You spilled coffee all over me a few weeks ago."
Kai'Sa felt a flush of embarrassment spread over her face. "I'm so sorry about that," she said. "I didn't know who you were."
"It's okay," Evelynn said, giving Kai'Sa a flirtatious smile. "I don't mind a little mess."
Kai'Sa couldn't help but smile back at her. She finished making the drink and handed it to Evelynn. "You know what?" Kai'Sa said. "This one's on me. As an apology for last time."
Evelynn tilted her head to the side. “You don’t have to do that, but I won’t say no to a free drink.” Kai'Sa shrugged. "It's the least I can do."
“Thank you.” Evelynn said, taking a sip. “So, how’s your night going?”
Kai’Sa was surprised that Evelynn was making small talk with her. “It’s going okay, just covering for my friend tonight.” “Ah, the old switcheroo,” Evelynn said with a chuckle. “What do you think of this place?”
"Um, it's alright," she replied, fidgeting with her apron. "It's busy sometimes, but I like it. It pays the bills."
Evelynn chuckled softly, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "I can imagine it gets pretty hectic here. But you seem like you handle it well."
Kai'Sa felt a small smile tug at her lips at the compliment. "Yeah, it's not a bad gig," she admitted. "I like making drinks and the people are friendly."
Evelynn nodded. “That’s good to hear. It’s always nice to find a good bar.”
Evelynn's gaze lingered on Kai'Sa, and she felt a flutter of nerves in her chest. "You know, Kai'Sa, I can't help but feel like we have some kind of connection. I mean, we keep running into each other," she said with a teasing grin.
Kai'Sa couldn't deny the warmth that spread through her at the words, and she found herself leaning in a little closer. "Yeah, it does seem like that," she said softly, meeting Evelynn's gaze. "Maybe it's fate or something."
Evelynn's eyes sparkled with amusement, and Kai'Sa found herself getting lost in her energy. "Maybe it is," Evelynn said, her voice low and sultry. "Or maybe we just have good taste in coffee."
Kai’Sa looked away nervously feeling her face start to heat up. “Yeah, maybe.”
Eventually, Evelynn finished her drink and stood up. “Well, it was nice seeing you again."
Kai'Sa looked up from where she was wiping and gave her a small smile, "You too. Have a good night!"
As Evelynn walked out the door, she gave Kai'Sa one last flirtatious smile before leaving.
Kai'Sa let out a breath she didn't know she was holding.
She took out her phone and dialled Akali's number, "Guess who just came in?" Kai'Sa said, her eyes wide and voice filled with excitement.
Akali sounded confused. "Who?"
"Evelynn," Kai'Sa said.
Akali's eyes widened. “The Evelynn?”
“Yes, THE Evelynn,” Kai’Sa said, still in disbelief. “She remembered me from last time, She came in and talked to me like a regular person. It was crazy.”
Akali laughed. “Well, you are a regular person. But still, What did she say?"
Kai'Sa recounted the conversation to Akali, who was pretty ecstatic about the whole deal.
"Hey, I'll come by once I'm done with the shift okay? I'll tell you everything in full detail then"
"Fine, but everything in full detail no skipping over anything, got it?"
"Yes, yes, I got it."
