Chapter Text

She immediately noticed me and walked over, once she was about 10 feet away from me—I smiled. A fully fledged smile was etched across my face, the blonde paused in her stride; eyes wide with shock.

Her next step is hesitant, small enough for it to be a reasonable talking distance, but too large for her to sit on the bench without another step.

“Enid,” I nod at her and she takes another slow step forward. “Please, sit.” She carefully takes a seat in front me and takes in her surroundings.

The sky was a deep blue with streaks of orange and yellow mixed into it, the sun was almost set and the moon was creeping up into the sky. The ocean was calm and reflected the shade of the sky well. I watched her take in a long breath, she looked to be enjoying the smell of sea salt and the light fragrance the burning candles were releasing.

Finally she turned to me and spoke. “Hey Wednesday, why did you invite me here? It’s beautiful and all, but why?” She tilted her head slightly at me with questioning eyes.

“I’ll answer that soon enough, enjoy the scenery and peace. I’d like to play you a song.” I plug my bass into my amp and wipe my hands on my pants, ‘I’ve never felt nervous like this before.’

I sigh and take in a deep breath, when I exhale I begin to pluck and strum my bass.

Some people think I'm acting worse for wear

Suffice to say this is a quaint affair

But no one really knows me like Harvey

And once you've met him I'm sure you'll agree

Harvey

Nobody knows what I see

Nobody knows I'm waiting

Waiting for you to call

Harvey

Nobody knows what I see

Everyone thinks I'm crazy

Crazy for you, oh boy

I take my eyes away from my bass as I play; I look at Enid, her gaze is unwavering as we locked eyes. Her glacier blue eyes bore into mine, she closes them for a short second before reopening them and smiling softly at me.

As soon as the smile bloomed on her face I felt my face heat, my stomach ache, and my forehead begin to form a thin line of sweat. I take another deep breath and shake my head gently.

Barked at the moon amid an empty street

We felt the remnants of the evening heat

Said Harvey let me be the one to say

I wouldn't dream this any other way

Harvey

Nobody knows what I see

Nobody knows I'm waiting

Waiting for you to call

Harvey

Nobody knows what I see

Everyone thinks I'm crazy

Crazy for you, oh boy

I hear Enid sigh, I look up to see the blonde staring dreamily at me. Her eyes sparkled in the light of the two flames, she almost looked star-struck as I smiled softly at her.

In my mind I knew the song was almost over and I only had so much more time before I had to…confess.

Harvey

Nobody knows what I see

Everyone thinks I'm crazy

Crazy for you, oh boy

Harvey

Nobody knows what I see

Nobody knows I'm waiting

Waiting for you to call

Harvey

Nobody knows what I see

Everyone thinks I'm crazy

Crazy for you, oh boy

As I finished playing the last few chords, I rested my bass next to me and looked at her.

“I’ve asked for your presence so I could ask you something.” She nods and I continue, “If you could find it possible to love a broken person, then please, Enid. If I could spend the rest of my wretched existence with you, I would. I would douse you in my love and burn you to the stake in warmth and adoration, you’ve taken my limp heart and restored it to its beating state. An Addams love is unmatched; we love fiercely and deeply, we are prepared to live and die for our lover. If you’re not ready for that then, I beg, tell me now.”

Her gaze softened as she looked back at me.

“Wednesday, do you really mean all that? The song and the declaration of love, you truly mean all of that?” I nod at her when a smile overcomes her face.

“Enid Sinclair, if you would have me, cara mia. I would love to be the only one who adores you."

She jumped up and pulled me into a tight hug, I felt my shoulder getting wetter. I heard sniffles and quiet sobs coming from the girl as she put her head in the crook of my neck.

“Shh, shh, calm down my cucciola, what's wrong?” I put my arms around her back and ran them down in soothing strokes, I felt her smile against my neck; her sobs ceased and she looked right into my eyes.

There was so much compassion and gentleness behind her watery eyes it made my heart swoon, she had a bright smile and tear stained cheeks. Her face was brought close to my ear as she whispered into it.

“I love you Wednesday Addams, and I would be honored if I was your only lover.” I hugged her tighter at those words, the tide slowly coming in and splashing our feet separated us.

“Can I kiss you?” She looked dumbfounded at my words and I regretted them immediately, but before I could say anything else I felt soft lips against mine. My chest tightened at the feeling and my hands went clammy, but I kissed her back. The delicate lips tasted faintly of strawberry, all too soon it was over and we were staring each other in the eyes.

“Willa, you just confessed your undying love to me, of course you can.”

“Mi sol, I have all too much to say. No words could express what I feel for you.”

She shook her head softly at me and smiled, “Who knew you were such a romantic Willa!” She leaned back in for another kiss but I pressed my fingers against them. The blonde released a small whine and looked at me confused.

“As much as I desire another kiss from you, I have one more thing for us to do.” I reach behind the rock I was sitting on and pull out the paint can and brushes.

“What are you doing with those?” I simply take out a pocket knife and grab her hand.

“May I?” She looked nervous but nodded nevertheless. I made a small cut in the inside of her palm; I did the same to mine and let the blood drip into the can of paint before mixing it all together.

I took a brush and handed it to her, I crouched down to a small spot on the rock and wrote my name with the mixture of our blood and paint.

She wrote her name as well, I dipped my knife into the water to wash away the blood and turned to her.

“Let us head back to my apartment,” She raised a questioning eyebrow at me “To bandage your hand, Sinclair.”

“Okay Wends,” She let out a soft chuckle and intertwined our hands together.

The walk was brisk, basking in the moonlight with the occasional chill of the wind. I opened my apartment door and, low and behold, Ajax, Xavier, Yoko, and Bianca were watching a movie with the lights off.

I walked behind them and whispered “Boo” in Ajax’s ear, he let out a blood curdling scream and jumped into Xaviers arms.

“Calm down, it's just Addams…and Enid!” Yoko looked at me, then Enid. “Damn Addams, you got game!”

I just ignore them and walk to my bathroom, Enid is following close behind. I pull out my first aid kit from behind the mirror and disinfect both out cuts, I place bandages on them. I could feel Enid’s eyes staring at me.

“Yes?” I questioned.

“Nothing! It’s just that, I can’t believe we’re a thing now!” She was moving back and forth on the balls of her feet, I reached up on the tip of my toes and gave her a quick peck.

“You better believe it, cara mia.” I smirked at the blonde who was a delightful shade of pink. “If you desire…you can stay the night.” I quickly avert my gaze from her’s and look down to the floor.

“Aw, Wends I’d love too!” She placed a kiss on my forehead and smiled.

“Come, let us eat quickly then go to rest.” Enid followed me into the kitchen and I took out some leftover soup, I let it come to a simmer before offering her a bowl.

She was looking at the four hooligans on the floor, quietly giggling at them. I wrapped my arms around her waist from behind and sighed into her back, she pulled me to a chair and sat as I served her some warm tomato soup.

“Did you make this yourself? It’s really good,”

“Yeah she did!” One of the four shouted from the floor as they played Uno.

“I didn’t know you were a cook Willa!” She turned to me with a drop of soup in the corner of her lip, I wiped it away with my thumb and looked at her fondly.

“One of the many things you may not know about me.” We finished our soup and walked to my bedroom.

I gave Enid a spare toothbrush and some new clothes to change into as I rinsed. Once I stepped out I dried my hair and dressed into my sleepwear. I saw Enid admiring my typewriter as I layed down, she sat on the edge of the bed.

“Aren’t you going to lay down?” I asked flipping on my side to look at her back.

“Yes, well. It’s just that I’m not really used to sleeping with someone else.” She scratched the back of her neck and chuckled dryly.

I sighed and pulled her down into my bed, she was laying on her back and I placed my face in the crook of her neck; I breathed in her smell and smiled, I put my arm around her waist and kissed her neck softly.

“Goodnight, Enid.” I heard her release a relieved sigh and she sunk into the bed.

“Goodnight, Willa. I love you.” I looked up to her and she was a light pink, I snickered a little before placing one final kiss on her lips.

“I love you too.”
