Chapter Text
“I got it!”
“Cater! Be careful!”
Cater laughed joyously at Trey’s warning as magic and dishes swept around him. Riddle insisted that everyone have a new place setting for today’s tea party dessert, something about moving down and new cups. But Trey’s cake fondant was melting in the warm spring sun, threatening to ruin the whole thing if they’d waited to clear everything by hand. One look at Trey’s worried face and Cater had impulsively jumped into action.
The last dish slotted into its container with nary a scratch or chip to be seen, to everyone’s relief. Trey cut and served his cake and the day was saved.
Cater was feeling pretty proud of himself as he sidled over to his boyfriend - until he realized what he’d missed with his hasty decision. “Aww, man! I didn’t get a photo for the ‘Cam! And that was your best cake yet, Trey-Trey!” His phone dinged in his pocket, distracting him.
“You say that about every cake,” Trey pointed out with a sly smile.
There, on his phone, was a photo drop from Trey with his cake in all its glory. It was even artfully framed by the garden roses and party decorations. Cater gasped excitedly. “Whoa, look at you!” He winked at Trey before quickly tapping on his phone to upload the photo. “You should have posted that to your own Magicam! You’re getting a real eye for pix and what gets attention.”
Trey’s phone pinged, but unlike Cater, he could ignore it. Instead, he reached out a hand to pull Cater into his arms. “And deny you the chance? I’ll pass.”
“Thank you,” Cater whispered, tuning out the rest of the party, losing himself to their own little world. “Best boyfriend ever,” he told him right before their lips met in a sweet kiss.
Which was, of course, how he’d tagged the photo.
That, and hashtag Trey Love, hashtag True Love.
