The Wayne's take a family photo.

Notes:

This is one of the last chapters to this fic. I might add 1 more chapter but I haven't a clue atm. This chapter was originally going to be 2 but I decided against it.

This chapter is, in comparison to the rest of the fic, essentially all fluff. Nothing bad really happens.

Please enjoy.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Wayne Manor

Tim sat in the parlor waiting on Conner and Cass. Cass had a recital in a few hours that he had been invited to. Let's rephrase that. Cass had a recital in a few hours that he actually had the time to attend. Tam and Beau were handling all office emergencies and had promised he would be able to attend in peace. Gods he had amazing assistants.

Conner was in the cave asking Bruce for his blessing to propose. Apparently Conner remembered Tim off handedly saying that he thought the idea of getting a family's blessing before a proposal was romantic. And it was. . .but if he was being honest the fact that Conner remembered him saying something so benign was more romantic than the follow through. He had asked everyone else already, including Harley and Ivy, and was now asking Bruce.

“Little Brother” Cass chimed softly as she appeared seemingly out of nowhere to hug him.

“Big Sister” he responded smiling “Kon is talking to Bruce really quick and then we’ll be ready to go”

She nodded before gracefully detaching herself to dance around him. She was happy he realized smiling fondly.

“Oh good” Dick called entering the parlor “I was worried I missed ya”

“Hey Dickie” he greeted. He hadn’t been aware Dick was even in Gotham, hadn’t expected to see him for awhile. “What’s up”

“I” the oldest Wayne paused uncertain “I wanted to ask if I could go with you to Cass’s recital”

Tim blinked. Dick 100% didn’t need to ask permission to attend Cass’s recitals. She always, without fail, invited everyone. Everyone including Tim he thought happily, she never forgot him even when work often prevented him from actually attending.

“I don’t see why you couldn’t” he admitted honestly “Cass did invite you”

Something Tim didn’t recognize flashed across Dick’s face. Did he look almost hurt?

“Yeah” Dick agreed awkwardly shuffling his feet “but um” he paused sad eyes locking with Tim’s “would you be ok with it?”

Tim arched an eyebrow. While they hadn’t exactly hung out since the food incident and hadn’t spoken since his birthday Tim wasn’t exactly avoiding Dick. He just wasn’t going out of his way to spend time with him.

“Sure” he answered realizing Dick was waiting for a response “I’d like that”

Dick visibly relaxed at his response. Like he was almost afraid Tim would reject him outright. Which struck Tim as weird considering he was far to polite to do something like that.

The air around him moved slightly as Conner reappeared catching Cass with his TTK as she leaped through the air sensing his arrival before anyone else. To Dick such a move likely looked impulsive but it was rehearsed.

Cass had seemed to bond with Conner over his ability to appear without being seen often using said talent to perform tricks she physically couldn’t on her own. Tim’s favorite was her playing a trick at a gala that made it look like she was dancing on air when really it was just Conner helping her with his TTK.

Cass beamed as Conner lowered her back to the ground allowing her to continue her happy dancing on the way. “thanks” she signed before turning to head to the door.

“Are you sure you don’t want to come?” Tim asked with a pout “it could be a small date”

Conner kissed his forehead a smile playing on his lips “as much as I want to I have a meeting with my Father I can’t keep putting off”

Tim pouted. He knew that but still. A small petty part of him wanted Conner to bail on Lex to spend time with him instead.

“I’ll be dropping you all off still Birdie don’t worry” he kissed him again before locking eyes “besides Cass might get upset if I spoil her alone time with you guys”

Cass nodded from the doorway a teasing smile on her face “soon enough” she signed quickly “you’ll be brother too”

Conner grinned as Tim’s face flushed red in embarrassment. Soon enough.

Walking out of the small theater Tim pulled Cass into a hug. “You were amazing Cass”

The smaller woman smiled at the compliment as Tim showed her the pictures he had taken on his camera. Silently she wondered when he got the camera as it wasn’t his usual one but seeing the pictures stopped her from asking.

She knew Tim used to take action shots of Batman and Robin when he was younger but these were next level shots. Every picture of her was perfect in clarity and angle. Nothing like the amateur photographer she had been led to believe he was.

“Little Brother. Amazing” she signed hugging him tightly “send me?”

“Of course Cass, I think Bruce might actually want this one framed”

Cass gasped at the photo. Like audibly gasped.

She was mid leap the lighting behind her making it look like she was dancing in front of the sun. Yet the spotlight still managed to allow her features to be clear and visible. It was the single best photo she had ever seen of herself.

“I wanna see” Dick complained unable to see past Cass. Angling the camera so he could get a glance he also gasped “holy shit Timmie that’s amazing”

Tim blushed slightly at the praise. Cass praised him fairly regularly but he could count how many times Dick had given him genuine praise. It felt nice.

“Thanks” he mumbled awkwardly “the Young Justice gang let me practice on them a lot” he admitted truthfully. Bart especially had been a great asset in mastering action shots making him one of the few photographers capable of getting a clean shot of a speedster in motion.

“So, ice cream?” Dick offered hoping to spend more time with his siblings “I’d say my treat but I have Bruce’s card so his treat”

Tim laughed before accepting the offer gladly. Conner was with Lex so he had time. Plus he was actually enjoying himself.

It was a good night.

A Few Months Later – Tim’s Apartment

“You sure you want to enter with them?” Conner asked again for the millionth pouting like a sad puppy.

“It’d mean a lot to Bruce” Tim explained again “last Wayne family entrance”

Conner rolled his eyes openly. They’ve had this discussion a lot lately. But he knew this was likely the best they’d get from Bruce in building a relationship with Tim so he relented. Even though he had strong opinions on it.

“That reminds me” Conner tried knowing he’d win brownie points by changing the subject on his own “Have you decided on the name thing”

The big question. Would Tim just become Timothy Luthor? What about Timothy Kent? Would he take both and be Luthor Kent? Or would he just add them like he had Wayne and become Timothy Drake Wayne Luthor Kent?

Or was Conner going to become Conner Wayne? Conner Drake Wayne? Or maybe Conner Luthor Kent Drake Wayne? Did Conner even legally use the name Kent? Or was that just an occasional civilian identity thing?

Or would they just keep their names the same? That’d probably be easiest considering how much power their names held. Probably far less paperwork that way too. Gods Conner hated paperwork.

“What do you want Clone Boy?” Tim asked with a smile.

“Would it be bad to just keep our names as is? At least legally?” he asked sheepishly “the idea of all the paperwork makes my head spin”

Tim laughed at his honesty “if keeping them the same would make you happy than we’ll do that”

Though the part of him that found his ever growing list of last names laughed. Timothy Jackson Drake Wayne Luthor Kent sounded like someone who had a large loving family.

Wayne Manor

“Can we get a family photo” Bruce asked as Tim finally joined them in the parlor “before we head out?”

“Sure” Tim nodded silently retrieving his camera “if everyone wants to get together around the couch while I set up”

“What are you talking about Timbit” Jason asked sounding grumpier than he had earlier.

“What?” Tim asked not looking up from he was doing “Bruce wanted a family picture”

“That includes you dingus” he interrupted before noticing Alfred in the hallway “Alfie could you help us take a family photo real quick?”

The older gentleman walked up shooing Tim away so he could finish setting up while Jason and Cass grabbed Tim.

“You’re part of the family too,” Jason whispered saving everyone the embarrassment of realizing Tim was about to be excluded from yet another family photo. He wrapped his arm around his brother affectionately ensuring he knew he was being serious "my little brother"

Something Jason didn’t recognize flashed across Tim’s face at his words as they finished getting in position for Alfred to take the photo. And then Tim did something Jason wasn’t expecting.

He smiled the way he had only seen him do around Conner.
