"Raine, I know what you are." Eda touched Raine's cold hand and they flinched away.
"If you really did, you'd stay away from me." Raine looked up at the orange treetops overhead.
"I don't care what you are, I love you Raine." Eda pulled their cold head towards her. "You're a vampire, aren't you?"
Raine pushed her hands off them and looked at their brown shoes this time.
"I...I'm sorry...I really didn't mean to hurt you." Eda apologised looked at her shoes as well.
"Nothing I say or do can change your mind right." Eda shook her head. "Then climb on my back and don't ask questions."
Eda climbed on their back and all of a sudden the trees were rushing by and they were on top of the hill. Eda toppled off their back and came to her senses again. She looked at the orange trees, they were black from above. Eda looked over at Raine.
"You're...sparkling." Eda ran a hand over Raine's face and this time they let her. "I guess I was right, huh?"
"I guess, I'm more of a monster than a vampire though. You can always back out whenever you realise how fucked up this is." Eda softly put her thumb on their lip. "Cuddling me is terrible."
"I love you Raine Whispers."
"If I lose control you might be the first to go."
"I love you Raine Whispers."
"And imagine how terrible it would be in bed."
"I love you Raine Whispers. Maybe I have some sort of cold kink. I will love you forever, no matter what." Eda leaned closer and closed her eyes, ready to kiss their soft cold lips. A loud bang sounded and she opened her eyes to see a white ceiling.
Eda sat up and Raine was lying on the floor along with two suitcases next to them.
"Sorry. Didn't mean to wake you up." Raine apologised. "I was just trying to clean up."
"Don't worry." Eda reassured Raine and got out of bed and helped them up. "It was about time I woke up."
"Thanks Eda." Raine picked up the suitcases again and shoved them under the bed. "Luz texted this morning, we can either order room service or go to the dining room downstairs. I assume you want to order room service but I'll ask you first of course."
"You know me," Eda stuck her hand in the cupboard and took out two packets of apple blood. "You want some?"
"Sure," Raine sighed. "Should have known you'd sneak apple blood in."
"It's not like its illegal," Eda tossed a packet over to Raine and they caught it. "And I didn't bring my homemade apple blood so you'd actually drink it."
"I don't particularly want to get drunk at 10 in the morning." Raine opened their packet and sat down.
"You can always just use your magic to remove the alcohol or however it works." Eda opened her packet as well and sat down next to Raine.
"To much effort when I just woke up, and if you really want to get drunk just get some human alcohol." Raine nudged her arm.
"It's not the same though." She nudged theirs back.
"You've never even had human alcohol." Raine finished slurping their apple blood and tossed it in the bin.
"I can just- think fast!" Eda threw her empty apple blood packet at Raine and they caught it again.
"That caught me off guard a bit the first time you did that," Raine tossed Eda's packet in the bin. "But it's been like 30 years, you've become predictable."
"I can't think straight when I'm hungry," Eda said the first excuse that came to mind. "Let's get breakfast."

"Human food is suprisingly good!" Raine muched on some waffles covered in syrup.
"Eh," Eda stuffed her mouth with her second waffle. "I've had better."
Raine snorted and looked over at Eda.
"I missed this."
"What," Eda looked over at Raine. "The waffles?"
"Um," Raine looked away. "Yeah, I've had them once before."
