Chapter Text
"... Go wake your mommy up, Channie." Hyunjin hears her husband whisper along some faint rustling yet her eyes stay closed having no energy to open them still. A small hand squeezes her wrist gently, and then again. "Mommy... mommy, wake up. We're here!" Came her son's adorable high-pitched voice that forces her eyes to open. Seeing the small man looking at her with rounded eyes full of expectation, Hyunjin can't help but smile, turning her head to reach the boy and give him a little smooch on his cheek. Chan hums in excitement that made his mother's smile grow wider.
"Mommy's awake now, baby. You wanna meet grandma and grandpa?" The boy's widen eye sparkles, enthusiasm written all over his face as he squeals a loud "Yes!" and in Hyunjin's periphery, she could see her husband staring at both her and their son with a grin so wide and so happy.
"Where's Bin?" Hyunjin asked her husband who answers with his head moving; seemingly pointing where their son went off to. "He already barged in saying he desperately needed to pee, that silly boy. He couldn't even help me carry you inside nor the things we brought." He answered with an exaggerated head shake. Hyunjin chuckles in return before her attention swaps back to their youngest son, still clutching on her wrist.
"Come on Channie, let's get off." And Chan immediately latches off, jumping out of the car that worries her for a moment but before she could say anything, said boy runs with his tiny feet towards the opened gate and opens the front door of the house all by himself, with his teenie tiny hands with ease. Hyunjin can't help but laugh at her silly son and his visible excitement to meet his grandparents.
"Look at him go, he didn't even need me to get off the car now anymore. He just jumped off by himself!" Hyunjin hears her husband laugh before a hand- her husband's hand- went over the side of her face carefully tucking the strands of her shortened hair behind her ear. Jisung's hand is warm and it felt ticklish having him brush his fingers on the lobe of her ear, and he's still wearing the same blinding smile from moments ago.
Hyunjin couldn't possibly not love the man when he looks like this. Like everything he ever wanted was Hyunjin, and Hyunjin alone.
"... Why are you making that face?" Hyunjin asked, trying to sound nonchalant but her husband knows better. Of course, he knew better.
"What, am I not allowed to appreciate my beautiful wife?" He said in a playful yet firm tone. Hyunjin told herself to cringe, and accept the fact that her husband says the corniest shit any husband could ever say— but her heart flutters instead.
Stupid, stupid Han Jisung with his cheeky face and mesmerizing voice.
"Ew, Shut up."
Jisung laughs it off. He's been laughing a lot that Hyunjin wants to close his mouth shut, yet she's unable to deny how pleasant it is to hear the man laugh over the smallest things.
Hyunjin detaches the belt around her, stretching her arms and legs before getting out of the car. She comes face to face with her husband who refuses to remove his foot from blocking the car door. Standing right in front unmoving, his eyes locking with Hyunjin making her raise a brow in confusion.
"Aren't we going in?"
Her husband's eyes then went down to her lips, staring at them with sudden intensity.
"Eomma said we should fetch her some scallions and leave the kids to their care. I figured since it's been so long since our last visit here, why don't we go together? You know... walk around?" A pause, and then the stupid man leaned in, close. Too close Hyunjin can feel his breath on her cheeks. "...Or, would you rather go in and take some more rest?"
Hyunjin feels her own blood rush north, she can feel the heat on her cheeks and that, for sure wasn't anything invisible because the man in front of her clearly knows the effect he has on Hyunjin. Her husband's hand moves to trail softly on her neck, on her jaw, to the side of her ear, tucking the strand of her shortened hair behind- again- as he leans in. In.
Before a cough erupted from behind,
"...Please stop doing that in public where everyone can see the two of you." It was Changbin, arms crossed, head shaking. Surprised from the sudden intrusion, Hyunjin snorted, her back bending a little as let out her laugh whilst her husband huffs in exasperation, thumping his feet hard on the concrete before facing their eldest son. So dramatic that even with his back was turned, Hyunjin knows he's wearing that pout he would always wear when he wanted to get something but couldn't.
"I hate you so much."
Changbin clicks his tongue, then fake gags "Whatever you say, Dad."
Hyunjin moves and closed the car door by herself, grabs her husband by his collar on the back of his polo shirt and Jisung- almost uncaring- allowed himself to be dragged. "Let's run by the market then!" Hyunjin announces, not knowing that her eldest son was trailing behind them as she drags her husband away, the two mocking each other with all the silly faces they can make while walking down the street.
I remember. I heard.
It was my heart, my soul. my breath, my all.
It was me you're claiming but
for another you call.
Changbin grew like the flowers Hyunjin was gardening since forever, growing simultaneously without the care of the world. As if it was only yesterday when he learned how to crawl, pacing around the house in all fours, gnawing at everything he'd find on the run. As if it was only yesterday when he learned how to call Hyunjin ‘Ma!’ in the most adorable voice that Hyunjin couldn't help but cry, overwhelmed by the fact that she's growing an actual child. He's such a bubbly kid that never forgets to cling on Hyunjin any moment he can, anytime he want— Even when he became older.
One certain moment that the ghost in their house could probably remember was when Changbin insisted he'd stay at his friend's– Lee Chan or Dino is what he would always call him– for dinner after school. Now he may look like he hasn't grown too much, and Hyunjin would hate to break it to everyone but he's already in fifth grade. He's studying well, he's obedient, clever and sometimes way too forward with his words that Hyunjin would wonder how on earth has her son managed to manifest such traits— The only thing he probably got from his father was his adorable face and silliness.
That day, Jisung came home smelling like something Hyunjin couldn't quite name— it seemed familiar but she couldn't remember where and how she's familiar with such scent. His hair's disheveled and he's looking like he came running for his life out there.
"You're home late Yeobo." He looks up with surprise written all over his reddened face, then he came running towards Hyunjin— for whatever reason— tugging her in a tight hug.
Oh, he reeks of alcohol as well.
"Baby, It's you! No wonder I thought I was seeing an angel-" He released a hiccup and then he giggles to himself. "It's my beautiful wife!" Hyunjin smiles, receiving the affection with a fond head shake and snaking her arms around her definitely ass-drunk husband. He's probably been surrounded by co-workers maybe that's where he got the smell that's clinging on him from.
Hyunjin was honest to god thankful that her husband only drinks when important company event happens and that he's a cute drunk rather than aggressive.
However, drunk Jisung is also bold Jisung so when Hyunjin suddenly felt her husband's hand shifting beneath her shirt, she had to hold her breath, her own hands moving to stop Jisung.
"You're drunk, you idiot."
The man whines, holding onto her waist firmer.
"I missed you..." He murmurs while planting soft kisses on Hyunjin's collarbone, trailing up to her neck. "I missed you so much..."
Hyunjin smiles, allowing the man to work on her neck. Her own hands crept on her husband's hair, pulling him impossibly closer.
"–Nho..." Her husband mewls. His kisses turning wet and haste that has Hyunjin panting. "...Hmm?" He continues to trail north with his lips planting kisses on every part of Hyunjin's skin he could access, he kisses her jawline, her chin, her cheeks, her nose, eyes and forehead before finally– he claimed her lips. Her own mouth connects with her husband's in an almost magnetic way, the plump of her lip fits perfectly with her husband's hungry one..
" Mhm..." He sighs against her lips and Hyunjin swallows every sound her husband is making in fervour.
Jisung pulls away first, panting heavily and his hands started trailing up her shirt. He only stopped when he's finally cupping her breast and kisses her again, slow this time and Hyunjin allows him to take all, until she heard him murmur:
"I missed you, Minho"
It crumbles
