--
“Itadori,” Geto called out as the three got up to leave class.
“Yeah?” Itadori’s head perked up.
“Come see me.”
“Uh. O-okay.” Itadori always hated it when teachers asked that. He already started to feel his palms sweat.
“I’ll wait for you outside,” Megumi said, rubbing Itadori’s shoulder as he walked by. “Okay.”
Itadori walked up to Geto's desk nervously. He had a feeling of where this conversation was going to go.
“Hi Geto,” He said nervously.
“Itadori, I’m starting to worry about your performance in this class.” Geto starts pulling out the most recent tests Itadori completed. Itadori started to feel his mouth getting dry.
“I’ve noticed a decline in your test results since the start of the year. Do you know why?” Geto asks.
“Um, I dunno. I guess things are getting harder.” He shrugged.
“Have you been getting help?” Geto raised an eyebrow.
“Well, at first yeah. From Megumi. But I don’t really get the way he explains things.”
“Have you asked anyone else?”
“…no”
“There's your problem.”
“Who should I ask then? Nobara doesn’t help either.”
“I think Gojo may be able to help you. He’s quite good at this topic and you guys have similar thought processes.”
“Really? Okay. Thanks!”
“Of course. I’ll try to adjust the way I teach things to help you as well.”
“Aw, thanks! ...Wait.” Itadori came to a full stop.
“What? Is everything alright?” Geto looked at Itadori concerned.
“Speaking of Gojo, did you… you know, get back with him.” Geto sighed.
“You know you probably shouldn’t be asking your teacher about his love life,” Geto said, shaking his head.
“Yeah, I guess. But I’m nosey. We all are. So did you?”
“Yes,” Geto answered reluctantly.
“Yes! Nobara!” Itadori shouted out as he ran out the door.
“Nobara!”
“What!?” Geto could hear the shouting travel down the hallway. Gojo was on Geto’s mind now. I miss my boyfriend. He’s my boyfriend. He’s my boyfriend… Geto swooned like a lovesick teenager. The more he thought about Gojo the more he missed him. The large pile of papers he needed to grade could wait.
--
“Satoruu” Geto called out as he walked into Gojo’s class.
“Hm?” Gojo said, looking up from the papers on his desk. Once he saw that it was Geto, a smile crept up on his face.
“Just saying hi. Missed you.” Geto said as he reached Gojo’s desk.
“Missed you too. How was your day?” Gojo asked with a dopey smile. The sight of Geto never failed to make him feel drunk on love. Especially now with their relationship fully rekindled.
“Oh, it was fine. I told Itadori he should start seeing you for extra help with my class.” Geto explained as he leaned on Gojo's desk.
“Did you? That’s fine. I like him, he’s smart”
“He is. Sometimes he reminds me of you.”
“Does he?”
“Mhm”
A silence emerged between the two but silence was never awkward between them. It was always welcomed. It gave them time to admire each other. And they could do that for hours. And it feels so much better now they can admire each other with no hesitations or boundaries. Not being able to do that for ten years was painful.
“I love you,” Gojo says standing up to meet Geto’s eyeline, hands landing to drape on his shoulders.
“I love you too,” Geto said with a soft smile as he wrapped his arms around Gojo’s waist.
The two missed simply staring at each other with nothing but love for each other. Although this time they won't let it go away. They can’t. Gojo pulled Geto for a sweet kiss. It wasn’t much. But it communicated everything they wanted to say but weren’t able to put into words. Their love for each other could never dissipate. They believe in every universe they find each other. Because you can’t have only one half of a whole.
