It’s not like Gaipa is googling things like ‘how many dates should you wait before initiating sex’ but Gaipa and Alan have been on a few dates already and things haven’t progressed beyond very respectful making out. Every day that passes that he doesn’t have sex with Alan, makes Gaipa just that much hornier and his life just that much more difficult to get through.
“Well this one insists that you have to wait three minimum but no more than five or else it will fizzle out.” Leng says as he’s scrolling through an article on his phone.
Okay so maybe he had asked Leng and Leng is doing the googling for him. Turns out being engaged to your high school sweetheart will leave you with exactly the same amount of adult dating experience as someone who’s never dated, “What will fizzle out?”
“I’m not sure.” Leng says, scratching his head, “The relationship?”
“But we’re not in a relationship.”
He and Alan have been on three dates exactly, four if you count the day Alan came over to the food truck to grab Gaipa’s documents. Before this Gaipa was simply horny, but now if he’s to believe Leng’s blogger then the issue is more pertinent! Yes, he wants to fuck Alan but he wants to sit him down on his couch and watch old Chinese dramas with him even more.
“You aren’t?”
“No? He hasn’t said anything, he also just got out of a serious relationship so I thought he wouldn’t want to be in another one so soon.”
“Then how many dates until you guys are in a relationship?” Leng asks, scratching his head.
“How am I supposed to know!” Gaipa retorts, his frustration building, “I’m not the one who’s engaged!”
“Oh my god,” Praew’s disembodied voice comes from the other room, “It’s painful listening to you guys talk. Just ask him if he wants to have sex with you and if he says yes, have sex with him.”
Gaipa blinks a few times trying to process the advice. He looks to Leng who looks back with an equally blank look.
After blinking at each other for a few long moments Leng finally says, “Worth a shot, right?”

Gaipa has plans. He has a slutty outfit, four different scenarios prepared on how to ask Alan to have sex with him ranging from very direct to coy and suggestive, he has practiced how to look casual and respond nonchalantly if Alan rejects him, he has a selection of condom and lubes because he doesn’t know what Alan’s preferences are or if he is allergic to something…and yet.
Saleng: Praew had to leave suddenly because her mother got sick last night so I have to be home with the baby. I’m sorry to bail on the store!!!
Gaipa: Leng!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gaipa sighs, he’s obviously not mad at Leng. Leng (and his baby) has been witness to the dozen or so iterations that Gaipa had come up with on how to ask Alan to join him in the boudoir for some consensual adult fun. He knows Leng is as invested in his relationship with Alan succeeding if not more. Leng has been subject to Gaipa’s whiny single ass more than anyone else. He quickly texts Leng a ‘it’s okay, i’ll figure it out’ before he opens up his chat with Alan with a sigh.
Gaipa: I’m really sorry to bail last minute but Leng had a family emergency so I have to man the store today

Gaipa doesn’t expect Alan to respond immediately but he still stares at their chat for a good five minutes, heart in his throat as he waits for Alan to tell him it’s not working out after all. Between him running a business on his own and Alan’s demanding job, scheduling has also not been the easiest between them. For someone like Alan surely there are easier, hotter options out there.
He does eventually put the phone down, puts his date clothes away and wears his signature tank top, plaid shirt and khaki shorts that his mom used to joke was his uniform. By the time he’s ready to leave his phone chimes with a text.
Alan: Need an extra pair of hands?
