Chapter Text
As Namika was waving goodbye to Shiori and Akako, she meets up with Yuri to walk home together since they live near by each other.
Yuri was confused to see Namika standing still at the doors. “Um, Namika?”
“Listen.” She said.
“What?” She leans her head in closer and heard something from behind the building.
“What’s that?” Nalin asked.
“Sounds like a…violin?” Namika guessed.
“That’s the light music club. They’re just practicing. Come on. Let’s go.”
“Wait. I want to watch them play for a bit.”
“Me, too!” Nalin agreed.
Yuri sighs as she saw Namika walking to the back garden. “Oh, Nalin.” Lila said, sighing.
The blonde turns the corner to see a purple haired girl playing the classical instrument. Her eyes were closed and her hair blew softly in the wind.
“Whoa.” Namika said, staring in awe.
“This music,” Nalin thought. “It’s… so beautiful!”
Then, she stops playing and looks over in Namika’s direction. “O-Oh. Hello, Miss Fukushima.” She said.
“Ah!” Nalin quickly hides back into Namika’s bag.
“Hisako! That was incredible!” She clapped her hands. “You looked beautiful!”
“Namika!” Yuri called. She then meets with the other girl. “Oh! It’s just you here, Miss Sumire?”
She nods silently.
“Do you have a dream to be a violinist when you graduate?”
The girl doesn’t answer.
“Well, it’s very beautiful. We’ll see you tomorrow! Bye!” Yuri takes Namika’s hand and runs away.
°°°
During the first break of the next day, Namika notices that Miss Sumire was sitting at her desk with her head down.
She walks over and sits in the empty desk next to her. “Hisako?”
She turns her head over and gives a wave.
“Are you okay?” No answer. “Tired?” A nod from her. “Yeah. Same. Stayed up too late drawing again.” She awkwardly chuckled.
“Namika!” Akako called. “Does she want to sit with us?”
“Do you?” Namika offered.
The girl stands up and sits at an empty desk. She gives a friendly wave to Akako. The redhead gives one back, grinning.
“Excuse me, Miss Sumire?” A girl asked with her friend group. “I was wondering if you wanted to have lunch with us later?”
“O-Oh. Um…” Hisako paused. “I…”
“Is it okay if you can ask later?” Namika asked them. “She’s not in a good mood right now.”
“Oh! That’s okay! Sorry for bothering you all.” Said the girl.
“No worries.”
“Told you it wouldn’t work,” Another girl whispered. “She never talks.”
“Hey,” Akako said, glaring at one of the girls. “Give her a break. She’s tired, alright?”
“It’s okay, Miss Tsubaki.” Hisako murmured to her.
°°°
During P.E., Namika and Akako jogged along the track with some other students. Namika looks behind and sees Hisako walking by herself.
Akako watches Namika run the other way. Namika catches her breath and walks alongside Hisako. “Hello, Hisako!”
She replies with a quiet wave.
“Don’t feel like running?”
She shakes her head no.
“Yeah. It’s tiring.”
Akako then appears behind the others. “Hey!”
“Gah!” Namika exclaimed. “Akako! When did you get here so fast?”
“Eh,” she shrugged, wiping sweat from her forehead. “I’m a fast runner.”
“O-Oh. That’s great! You should be a part of the track team!”
“Mm, I could.” She then sees Hisako. “Hi, Hisako!”
“Hi.” She softly said.
“We haven’t talked a lot. What do you like? What are your hobbies?”
“I like… music.”
“Classical? You play the violin.” Namika asked.
“Folk music.”
“Ooh! That’s cool!”
“A-And I like taking walks around the park because of the plants that grow around it.”
“You like nature, too? That’s spring-tastic! We’re like one in the same! Say. Do you want to come over to my house after school? I have a huge garden in my backyard that I think you’ll like!”
Hisako’s eyes light up. “Really?”
“Really?” Akako asked.
“Yes, really!” Namika nodded.
“Sure! I’m down!” Akako said with a light shove to the shoulder.
“Great! I’ll ask Yuri and Shiori if they want to come along!”
°°°
During the lunch period, Namika and the others, plus Hisako, sat around the rooftop garden, chatting and eating.
“Whoa! How many have ceramics have you made?” Akako asked.
“A-A lot. I like making candle holders the most because I like scented candles.”
“Any specific types of scented candles?”
“Flower scented ones, mostly. Rose, carnations, any. I like lavender. Reminds me of a flower my mom likes.”
“What does she like?” Yuri asked.
“Wisteria.”
“Ooh. Wisteria?”
She shrugs. “Yeah.”
“It’s a pretty flower. Symbolizes a long life.” Namika added.
“That’s why my parents named me Hisako. They wish for me to live a long life and to pursue my dreams when they pass on.”
“Aw. That’s very sweet.” Yuri said.
“But… I don’t know if I’ll ever make it.” Hisako said, solemnly.
“Why think that?” Akako asked. “What’s your dream?”
Hisako stayed silent for a while until she spoke up. “To be a violinist. A perfect violinist.”
“Is that why you took on the music club?”
She nods. “I want to be successful.”
“Hisako.” Namika said, putting a gentle hand on her shoulder. “I heard you playing the violin yesterday after school. I was blown away. It was very beautiful.”
“Th-Thank you, but… I don’t think I’ll make it.”
“What? Why not?” Namika asked in surprise.
She sighs, “Back in middle school, I couldn’t even play the violin right. It looked so easy. The other kids made fun of me. Told me that I’ll never be a violinist.”
“Hisako…” Akako muttered to herself.
Hisako started to tear up and Shiori takes her hand. “I know how you feel, Hisako. I’ve been there, too.”
“Shiori.” Hisako whispered.
“Namika and Yuri helped me grow out of my shell. I’m sure all of us will help you, too.”
Hisako’s heart swells and a tear slides down her face. She starts to smile. “Thank you.”
°°°
“Stupid Ivy. Stupid Castor.” Tsutsuji grumbled, teeth clenching. “I’ll show them that my experiments work!”
“Miss Tsutsuji.” Queen Belladonna said as she walked in.
“Your Majesty.” Tsutsuji said with a bow.
“I have heard from Castor and Ivy that your little Dark Seeds have not been successful.”
She starts to get nervous. “I swear, My Queen! I will show you that they are successful! They’re just… not using them right!”
“We have been very unsuccessful lately. Don’t disappoint me.”
“Y-Yes, Your Majesty.” She takes her crossbody purse and disappears.
°°°
After school, the other girls head to Namika’s house where they meet with her mom and dad.
“Hi, mom! Hi, dad!” Namika greeted.
“Welcome home, Namika! Glad to see you!”
“Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Fukushima,” Yuri bowed with the other girls following. “Thank you for accepting our invites.”
“No problem, Miss Saito.” Namika’s mom said. “Say, Namika. Do you mind if you can check on the strawberries? I think they’re just about done growing!”
Namika gasps, “I got it!” She snatches a basket off of the counter.
As Namika ran outside, her father says, “You’re welcome to look at our garden. Our daughter really loves it. We’ll be out grocery shopping for a bit.”
The other girls head towards the backyard. “Thank you, Mr. Fukushima.” Yuri said.
Hisako gasps in awe as she saw many bright flowers growing in planters, fresh fruits and vegetables growing in trees or the ground, and the fountain in the center.
“This is beautiful.” She whispered.
“Isn’t it great?” Namika cheered.
Akako sees Mallie and Winnie perched on the edge of the fountain. She smirks. “Hey, little buddies.”
Hisako was looking and walking around the garden until she spotted a small bunny. “Oh! Hello.”
The curious Wisty tilts her head to the side as Hisako gets on her knees. The bunny backs away as Hisako’s hand reaches to her.
“It’s okay. I won’t hurt you.”
Those soft words hits Wisty and she hesitantly walks back to her.
Yuri notices the commotion and walks to her. “Miss Sumire? Are you okay?”
Hisako stands up with the small animal in her hand. “I found a bunny, but I never saw this color before on one.” Next to her was some wisteria plants hanging on the fence. “Looks like the color of this wisteria.”
Wisty hops up to the top of the fence and her nose twitches at the touch of the purple plant.
Namika walks over to the two girls with a full basket of strawberries. “Hi, girls!”
“Hello, Namika.” Yuri greeted her.
“Um, Miss Fukushima?” Hisako asked the blonde. “Do you mind if I play for a bit?”
Namika spots the violin case in her hand. “Oh, sure! Go ahead!”
Hisako walks over to one of the benches, sits down, and opens the case. She places the instrument under her chin and the bow gently above the strings.
The five fairy animals all meet together and listen to the gentle playing of the violin. “Oh, wow,” Wisty thought. “This is…so beautiful. Like a gentle breeze…”
“She can play really good.” Akako whispered to Yuri.
“She’s been playing for a long while.” Yuri said back.
Namika was enjoying the music until Nalin popped out of one of the bushes. “Namika! Namika!”
“Huh?” She turns around. “Nalin! What’s wrong?!”
“The sky! We have to go!” Lila added.
Namika looks down to see the strawberries molding. She drops the basket in surprise. Then, Hisako started coughing.
“Miss Sumire, you need to get inside the house. Now.” Akako instructed.
“O-Okay.” She wheezed out.
“Where did Mom and Dad go?” Namika asked.
“They went out shopping!” Yuri exclaimed. “Shoot! We need to find them! Quick!”
“Oh, no!”
“Stay here, Hisako. Wisty, watch over her.”
“Got it.” She nodded.
“What about you?” Hisako asked. “Where are you guys going?”
“U-Um, somewhere!” Akako blurted out and all four girls rush out the front door.
Before the door closed, she saw four colored animals zoom by. “Did… those animals just fly?”
In the marketplace, there was a giant Fertiliar, possessing a bouquet of flowers. “Fertiliar!” It roared.
People were screaming, running away. Some have fallen to the ground, wheezing and coughing.
“Come with us!” Akako told a couple and they led them inside a café. “Namika! You all go ahead! I’ll be back in a bit!”
“Okay!” The three girls raise their arm in the air. “Precure! Blooming Metamorphosis!”
“Precures!” Miss Tsutsuji yelled. “You’re really getting on my nerves!”
“Huh?” Cure Lily said. “Where’s Ivy?”
“Ivy and Castor do not matter right now! Go, Fertiliar!” She screamed, pointing a finger.
“Fertiliar!” The giant bouquet started to run towards the Cures.
“Ah!” The three jump away and land feet first on the rooftop of a couple buildings. Then, Cure Camellia joined.
“What’s up?” She asked.
“Doing okay?”
“Yeah. I’m doing great!” She said with a thumbs up. “Hopefully, Hisako’s doing alright.”
Cure Lotus’s eyes widen. “Mom! Dad!” She looks down to see a clear street, except for two people. She jumps down.
“Lotus! What are you doing?!” Cure Orchid yelled.
In front of the man and woman, they hugged each other close. They trembled in fear as they saw the towering bouquet stomping towards them.
Lotus slides her way in-between and activates her large lotus shield with her arms crossed in an ‘x’ shape.
The pressure was becoming more heavy and her foot started to crack the pavement. She lets out a loud scream before releasing, hurdling the Fertiliar in the air and sending it miles back.
“Are you okay?” Lotus asked.
The woman looks up. “Who are you?”
“That doesn’t matter right now. You’re hallucinating from the poison in your chest and slowly succumbing to it. Let’s get you both out of here before it gets worse.”
“Okay.” They both nodded.
Back in the Fukushima household, Hisako laid on the couch, slowly breathing in and out.
Wisty sat on the coffee table, looking at her with concern.
Hisako opens her eyes. “Hey, little bunny. What are you doing here?” No response. “I’m worried about everyone else. I don’t know where they went. Why would they go out at a time like this?”
Wisty was about to speak, but Hisako sits up. “I need to go outside. I need to find them.”
Wisty’s nose twitches. “N-No! You can’t!” She blurted out.
“Wh—?!” She jumped back. “You can speak?!”
“You can’t go out! It’s way more dangerous out there! Your condition will get worse!”
“But I need to! I’m worried about them! I don’t know what happened to them! What if they got seriously hurt!”
“But—!”
“I’m going out! I don’t care if my sickness gets worse! My friends matter more!” She runs to the door and shuts it behind her.
“No, no! Wait!” Wisty finds the slightly open doors to the garden and heads out.
“Fertiliar!” Many black flower petals shot out of the pistils of each flower.
“There’s too many!” Lotus said. “Get back!”
“I got this!” Cure Camellia summons her sphere of petals. “Precure!” She jumps up. “Camellia Bomb!”
The Fertiliar punches it back, sending it towards the lotus shield. The shield cracks and breaks, and the Cures are sent back flying miles.
“Perfect shot, Fertiliar!” Tsutsuji laughed.
Cure Lotus sits up. “Don’t give up. Come on.”
“You know we’ll never back down.” Camellia chuckled, wiping the dirt off of her arms.
“Everyone!” Yelled a meek voice. Cure Lily looks behind to see Wisty.
“Wisty! What are you doing here?! You’re supposed to be watching Hisako! Where did she go?”
“She—!”
“Hey!” Another voice yelled. “What did you do to my friends?!”
Cure Camellia then looks back. “Hisako! No! What are you doing here!”
“Ooh!” Tsutsuji said in interest. “You’re still alive! Get her!”
“Hisako! Run!” Cure Lotus screamed.
Hisako stood frozen in place as an arm extended to her. Cure Orchid stands up and sprints to her, pushing the purple haired girl out of the way.
“Orchid!” Lily shouted.
As the pink Cure turned around and unsheathes her sword, the hand grabs her and reels them back in, dropping the sword along the way.
“Let go of me!” They yelled.
“No! Orchid!” Lotus cried.
Nalin and the others stayed behind an alleyway. Mallie sees Wisty still floating out in the open. “Wisty! Come on!”
The purple bunny watches Hisako stand up. “How dare you terrorize my friends like that!” She coughed out. “You’re horrible!”
“Tch,” Tsutsuji scoffed, grinning. “What are you going to do?”
Hisako runs in front of Lotus, Lily, and Camellia. “Come on! Hit me!”
“Hahaha! You’re insane! Wanting to sacrifice yourself? You’re really wanting this, aren’t you?”
“No! What’re you doing?!” Lotus yelled. “Get back! We can handle this! Your safety matters more than ours! Please!”
Hisako turns around and helps Lotus up. “Namika.”
“Hisako?”
“I know how you feel about that, too, but you’ve helped me. All of you did. Now, it’s my turn to protect you guys.”
Then, Wisty’s purple bracelet starts to glow around her neck.
“Whoa!” Nalin gasped. “Is it time?”
“Yes, yes! It’s now time!” Mallie flapped her wings. “Go! Go, Wisty!”
The bunny flies to Hisako. “Everyone get back!”
The other three Cures jump away.
“Wh—?!” Hisako asked, cradling the animal in her arms. “What are you—?!”
“Hang on!” Then, the purple dome of light explodes.
Hisako wakes up in a flowing purple dress in a void of light purple and wisteria. “Whoa! Where am I?! Um, little bunny!”
The fairy then appears. “Congratulations! You have now become the final Precure!”
“Precure?”
“Take this and put it on your wrist.”
Hisako then puts it on. “What do I do?”
“Now, say, ‘Precure! Blooming Metamorphosis! Please trust me on this.”
“O-Okay. Precure! Blooming Metamorphosis!” The purple bracelet glows and an energy ball shoots out, creating the light purple watering can.
Hisako catches it and pours it down her dress, extending its length. The light purple bow and wisteria pin was formed along with the purple and white puffy sleeves. Then, the long purple dress with a lavender train behind it. The dress was wrapped around with wisteria.
With a gentle click, her heels form with the ankle strap being wrapped in wisteria. Hisako then passes the watering can to Wisty. The bunny pours water on her right wrist and palms, forming the pair of bracelets on said wrist.
With the water in her palms, she splashes it on her face, making her dark, purple eyes a lighter color. Hisako tilts her head, letting the water flow down her hair. With a graceful turn, her hair turns lighter with an ombré. Lastly, a wisteria hair clip is pinned in her hair.
Wisty passes the watering can back and Hisako throws it in the air along with the wisteria decorated bracelet on her left wrist. The two objects combine, making a choker with the watering can bring a charm. She catches it and clips it around her neck.
From the wisteria growing in a clockwise motion, an elegant warrior dressed in purple appears. “Delicate and wise from the beauty within! Cure Wisteria!”
“Cure Wisteria!” Wisty said in delight.
“We did it! We did it!” Nalin cheered. “We have all have the five Precures!”
“No! This can’t be!” Tsutsuji snarled.
Cure Wisteria locks eyes with Cure Orchid and jumps up to kick the Fertiliar down.
“Thanks, Hisako.” Cure Orchid said as they were handed their sword back.
“You’re…! You’re all pests!” Tsutsuji cried. “Go!”
All five Cures gathered together. “Welcome, Cure Wisteria.” Cure Lotus said with a soft smile. “Alright, everyone! Let’s end this fight!”
The five Cures charge with Lotus and Wisteria taking the ground, and Orchid, Camellia, and Lily running and jumping across buildings.
“Fer!” The black petals shot in every direction as the monster ran to Lotus and Wisteria.
Orchid deflects the attack and Camellia three small bombs. Lily sends them out by using her water attack.
“Gah!” Tsutsuji groaned.
“Wisteria!” Lotus called. “Jump on!” She activates her shield and the purple Cure does as she is told. Lotus releases it as she jumps.
“Wisteria!” Cure Camellia then throws a bomb at her. Wisteria catches it and throws it into the Fertiliar.
“Nice shot!” Camellia complimented.
“Okay, Wisteria,” Lotus said. “You’re all on your own to purify this Fertiliar.”
“H-How?”
“What motivates you? Charge that into your soul.”
“M-Motivation?”
“Yeah! We’ll keep attacking! Let us know!”
“Okay.” She looks into her hands and places it on her chest. “Motivation… motivation…”
°°°
Akako. “Give her a break. She’s tired, alright?”
Namika. “I heard you playing the violin yesterday after school. I was blown away.”
Yuri. “Do you have a dream to be a violinist when you graduate? Well, it’s very beautiful.”
Shiori. “Namika and Yuri helped me grow out of my shell. I’m sure all of us will help you, too.”
°°°
A bright silhouette of a violin appears in her right hand and the bow in the other. “Ha!” She gasped in surprise. “I—! I did it!”
“Great job!” Lotus said as she jumped back from attacking. “Now, let it all out! Girls! Jump back!”
“Roger that!” Cure Camellia saluted. Everyone else jumps back and the Fertiliar was left alone.
“Precure!” She starts playing up to a crescendo and a gust of wisteria grew out of the strings. “Wisteria Hurricane!” She sends the giant wisteria whirlwind out and it traps the Fertiliar inside.
“Fertiliar~!” It wailed. Then, it disappears into thin air. The sky and marketplace revert back to normal and the people inside walk out with healthy bodies.
Every Cure detransforms and helps Hisako when she was about to faint. “Oh. Thank you.”
“Cure Wisteria,” Wisty said, flying over to the group. “You’ve earned this.”
Hisako takes the flower crown decorated in bundles of purple wisteria. “What’s this for?”
“Our mission,” Namika said. “Is to protect these fairies and help save their kingdom.”
“Kingdom? You come from royalty?”
“We’ll spare the details later.”
“Mika!” Yelled a female voice.
“Mom! Dad!” She runs to her parents and they hug tightly. “Are you okay?”
“Yes. Yes. We’re okay.” She cradles her head. “Oh, my baby Mika.”
Tsutsuji grits her teeth in anger. “You…! Argh!” She disappears.
“Are you all okay?” Mr. Fukushima asked the other girls.
“We’re okay. Thank you.” Hisako said.
“You’re all bruised up!”
“W-Well, um, we—”
“We went out to look for you and we got a little beaten up along the way.” Namika suddenly said with a nervous smile.
“Mika, you didn’t have to.”
“Oh!” She perked up. “We have to get home now! The strawberries!”
Her mother and father watch happily as their daughter calls her friends and they all follow her.
“Say,” said Mrs. Fukushima. “Did that squirrel just fly?”
“You’re probably still a little dizzy from the pain. I’ll help you once we get home.”
Inside the living room, Namika grabs the basket of fresh strawberries, puts them in a container, and puts the container in the sink.
“Alright!” Nalin cheered. “We have all five Cures together!”
“And introducing our newest member!” Lila added, flying around Hisako.
“Ooh! I’ll be back!” Namika rushes up the stairs and comes back down with the flower crown decorated in lotuses. “Tada!”
“Oh! You have one, too, Namika?” Hisako questioned.
“All of us have one each. These are called Royal Flower Crowns. The source of these fairies’ power from their home.”
“Royal Flower Crowns?”
“You bet!” Akako said. “And all of us need to band together and keep going to keep this planet and the kingdom safe!”
“Alright! In celebration, everyone, hands in!” Namika puts her hand forward. Then, Yuri, Shiori, Akako, and Hisako.
“On three, we say, ‘Spring-tastic!’”
“A-Are you serious?” Akako asked.
“Yep!”
“Geez, Namika.” She shakes her head. Then, the fairies join in.
“Okay! On three! One, two, three!”
They all raise their hands in the air. “Spring-tastic!”
