Chapter Text
Tsukasa wasn’t by any means shy, meaning he never had any problems calling out to complete strangers.
So that’s probably what lead him to call out to a pair of strangers in a café who he had noticed was watching a certain idol group that he liked…
“Oh! Score Symphony! I love them!”
The pair both flinched, and whipped around to face him. Tsukasa cringed and backed off.
“Uh, sorry! I just can’t help it when I see someone else who also appreciates good art like this!” Tsukasa exclaimed.
The one with the purple hair, glanced towards his companion and let out a chuckle. “It’s quite alright. If you don’t mind me asking, who’s your favorite member of the group?”
“Hmm, definitely Kusanagi Nene! I love her singing voice!” he answered without a second thought.
For the first time in the whole conversation, the pink haired person spoke up.
“She goes to our school,” they said quietly.
“Woah?! Lucky!” Tsukasa exclaimed once again, his eyes widened. He placed a hand on his head and let out a dramatic sigh. “If only I had a class with an idol like that! It’d be so cool!” he said.
“They’re all just normal people in the end,” the pink haired person said with a slight shrug.
“Mhm, you are right!” Tsukasa said, putting a hand to his chin.
“Hm, feel free to sit if you’d like. I’m Kamishiro Rui, and this here is my dear companion Akiyama Mizuki,” the newly named Rui said, motioning over to Mizuki.
“Rui!”
“Apologies Mizuki, but how often do you meet another fan of an idol group you like out in public?” he laughed.
Tsukasa grinned at the both of them, and slid into the seat in front of them. “Ah! Well I guess that means I have to introduce myself!” Tsukasa cleared his throat, and placed a hand on his chest.
“Tsukasa, written as ruler of the world! Tenma, written as soaring pegasus! Tsukasa Tenma!”
After he had given his introduction, he watched Rui and Mizuki with bated breath.
“… What do you think? I’m still working on it though!”
Mizuki snorted, and quickly covered their mouth. “Are you serious?”
Rui raised a brow with a smirk. “Well this is quite interesting,” he laughed. “Nice to meet you Tsukasa,” he said with a smile.
“Nice to meet you two as well!”
“So, what’s you guy’s favorite Score Symphony member?” Tsukasa asked, leaning in.
“I can’t say I have an exact favorite but… Emu…” Rui trailed off.
Tsukasa nodded. He could see why Emu would be his favorite! She had a really nice smile!
(However, in his opinion, not better than Nene’s. But who was he to judge.)
Mizuki snickered. “He can’t pick a favorite because he was friends with Nene, but he definitely has a crush on Emu,” they said.
Rui wrinkled his nose. “And what about Ena? You don’t have a crush on her?” Rui shot back.
Mizuki frowned, and struggled to come up with a response. But Tsukasa’s mind was in another place, focused on something that Mizuki had mentioned.
“Wait! Friends with Nene?” Tsukasa gasped, eyes wide.
“Oh yeah, we’re neighbors. But uh, we don’t talk much anymore,” Rui explained, trailing off with a frown.
Tsukasa looked at him sympathetically, and Rui shook his head. “It’s alright, things happen,” he said.
Tsukasa frowned. He could understand how losing friends could hurt people. After all, Saki’s relationship with her friends…
Wait- Saki!
Tsukasa quickly looked down at his phone to see the time. “Argh… My sister is waiting for me… I should get going!” he said, standing up and preparing to make a dash out the door. Suddenly, he paused.
“Oh wait! Speaking of that, we should exchange numbers? I’d love to meet up with you guys again!”
Rui quickly glanced at Mizuki, before pulling out a small notebook and a pen in his breast pocket. “Here you go,” he said, handing the items to Tsukasa.
Tsukasa flashed him a smile, before quickly scribbling down his contact information.
“This was fun! Bye you two!” Tsukasa said, giving one more wave before exiting.
“That really was fun!” Tsukasa thought to himself as he walked down the sidewalk.
If he was being completely honest, he wasn’t having the best day before this. He had gotten a test back, which he hadn’t done so well on, and he teacher had scolded him over a few missed assignments.
But here he was, two new friends and going to go visit his sister and surprise her with the pastries he got.
He laughed to himself and thought that today wasn’t as bad as he thought.
—
“He was fun,” Rui hummed, watching as Tsukasa rushed out of the café. Mizuki eyed him skeptically.
“Fun?” they echoed.
“Ah, don’t act like that Mizuki! I know you liked him! You aren’t normally that open,” Rui teased, and Mizuki rolled their eyes.
“Okay, well the same can be said for you,” Mizuki shot back.
“Well I never denied that, now did I?”
At that, Mizuki was silent, and Rui took it as a win.
—
“Saki!!”
Saki, who was in the middle of reading a magazine, looked up. “Oh! Hey Tsukasa!” she smiled.
Tsukasa grinned and held up the bag of sweets he bought from the café. “Surprise!” he said, handing them over.
Saki’s eyes lit up, and she looked into the bag. “Woah! Thanks Tsukasa!” she said, leaning over to give him a hug.
“Hehe, no problem!” he said, placing his hands on his hips.
Saki hummed and looked him up and down before smiling. “Did something good happen?” she asked.
Tsukasa’s eyes widened slightly, and he gave her a smile back. “Mhm! I met these two people while I was at the café, I think we could be pretty good friends!” he said.
“Really? That’s great!” Saki said, before putting a hand on her chin. “What did you guys talk about?” she asked.
Tsukasa cleared his throat at broke eye contact with Saki. “Well you know… things,” he said with a shrug in an attempt to brush it off.
Yeah… he was definitely not telling Saki that he was into an idol group.
Saki eyed him skeptically with a glint in her eyes. “Alright, whatever you say Tsukasa,” she said, deciding to drop the subject.
“Anyways, I’m definitely not going to be able to finish everything you bought, so you can share with me!” Saki exclaimed, scooting over in the bed to make room for Tsukasa.
Tsukasa grinned took up the seat beside her.
Maybe today wasn’t bad at all.
