Kaoru woke up and blinked at the ceiling. After a moment, he whispered into the darkness.
“Kojiro….”
The room remained silent.
“Kojiro,” Kaoru hissed a little louder, elbowing the large form next to him hard enough to startle but probably not hurt.
There was a low grunt of surprise, then Kaoru heard rather than saw Kojiro turn to face him. “Mm?”
“Do we fight too much?” Kaoru asked.
“Hm?” Kojiro mumbled sleepily. “I mean, we argue, but I think we fight fair and know each other’s limits. I don’t mind if you don’t mind.”
“Good, I don’t mind if you don’t mind.”
“Honestly, I like it. Lets us blow off steam, keeps things interesting for the fans at S….”
“Mm,” Kaoru murmured contentedly, nestling himself against Kojiro.
“Why did you ask?” Kojiro whispered in his ear, winding a gentle arm around him.
Kaoru’s voice was already becoming slightly vague and sleepy as he replied, “Oh, I just had the strangest dream.”
