Subaru and yui, steeling their resolve, looked ahead at the mess around them.
Due to subaru's explosion before, few of thr furniture had broken to chunks, scattering all over the room. The roof had a hole large enough to make a mini garden.
Reiji was on his knees, crying unceremoniously and babbling something about tragedies and subaru's vulnerable heart unable to control his emotions. Shu was making fun of triplets and Reiji spouting about entertaining himself. He looked... Rather pleased with the situation around him? Then there's the Triplets... They were busy with each other. Kanato was trying to strip off his clothes while Laito was stopping him . Ayato just stood there observing kanato, saying he'll be a ninja soon too after discovering his secret.
Yui doesn't know where should she start from. She looked from triplets to their older brother pair . Looking left and right seemingly worried, she took out her handkerchief from her pocket and went to Reiji. She offered her handkerchief towards Reiji's crying face. He looked Miserable. And emotional. Too emotional. The usual calm and composed reiji had turned into this. A sobbing mess.
“Reiji-san. Here...”
Reiji noticed the handkerchief through tear strained eyes and looked at Yui. She was offering him a handkerchief. Good grief . He sniffled. His emotions were all over the place today and his mind was a jumbled mess.
“You are giving me this...? Even when I...”
Even when his excuse of a mother had never offered him to wipe his tears. She never even noticed him let alone comfort him. But this mere mortal .. She was willing to comfort him when he can clearly end her . Her audacity and bravery made him... feel more sentiments.
“you truly are....."
He took her handkerchief and wept. Soft sobs were reeking out of his chest as he tried to compose himself.
Yui crouch down beside him and patted his back. The gesture made him cry harder. She didn't dare speak in case he turned towards violence than grief. It was kind of ironic to see him ,the one who's calm and composed in every situation get sentimental of all people. He must've bottled everything up...
She helped him stand up, even though he was a good head taller than her. Good. I think I can take Reiji-san to his room. Now I just have to convince him...
“uhm Rei—”
“Hahaha.. Reiji's such a crybaby. Look at him crying on her shoulder! Hehehe... ”
Shu's voice boomed over yui's. He appeared to her left, still laughing.
“hehe, CRYBABY REIJI~” Shu snickered. His lazy body looked more energetic than usual, standing at his full length. Giving a fun and bubbly vibe ,his voice was louder than usual. It was truly a once in a new moon incident.
“Quiet. These are tears of happiness for Laito so they does not count.” leaving yui's helping hand, he turned towards Shu, wiping his tears and still softly sobbing. Both siblings started chatting to each other, one laughing and the other crying.
Yui stepped two steps back. Should I take both of them with me ? No. The problem is...would they ever listen to me? Maybe subaru..?
She looked around for subaru and her gaze landed on the triplets. The situation was still the same with them. Just then she had an idea. Laito looks... Okay. It didn't look like he would do something stupid. Then kanato. Ohh gosh. He looks the most wasted that it wouldn't take long before he would fall. And then there's Ayato . He looks like he can do anything stupid in his state.
So certainly the ones who must sleep it off are kanato and ayato. But if she were to ask them to go to their rooms, god knows how would they react? And kanato. He screams trouble for her. Though they all scream trouble but kanato, he just can't seem to control his hands like his impulses. And Ayato doesn't look like he would ever listen. The thing about ayato is that he never listens but she can't give up . She had to help subaru, for her own sake.
“Fuck! They are all out of their damn mind! ”
Yui jumped. She turned to find subaru on her right. Oh it's just subaru kun . God, these vampires and their abilities.
“Subaru kun, I have a plan. ”
Subaru watched as Yui stepped towards triplets with her flimsy body. He wasn't savvy on her plan. Hell he wasn't savvy on everything in his cursed life. But he hadn't wanted her to tend to his stupid brothers. If subaru could, he would have cut himself off from this family and bloodline long ago. Unfortunately he could not. And that he was reminded of everyday.
He doesn't trust those bastards. Those triplets. They were a whole different breed of bastards. He still remember that one time when he ate ayato's takoyaki,that bastard didn't let him heard the end of it until subaru had to ask Reiji to make ayato takoyaki again. Kanato's hysteria and screeching at stupid things and laito's ruining everything with his shameless remarks. The triplets really like to demonstrate their upbringing.
The plan was that she would try to coax kanato and laito to hit the hay and ayato being a ninja would follow them on his own. The way laito is now,he would help Yui if coaxed rightly. Subaru would help and look after Shu and reiji.
But Subaru does not trust triplets. He looked at bickering Reiji and Shu. Shu was making fun of everyone while reiji was crying and pouring his sentiments through tears.
So Subaru went after Yui.
Yui stepped towards kanato. He was still trying to take off his clothes and laito was obstructing him. Ayato was just there with shining eyes. Yui stood behind kanato and took a deep breath. She made her resolve and looked ahead.
“k-Kanato kun.” Her voice echoed meekly and politely.
Kanato turned to her, actually stopping in his ministrations. Along with kanato, laito and ayato's attention fixated on her too.
Yui's sweat dropped.
“kanato- kun, you're feeling hot, right? Then how about going to the room upstairs, hm? There's a balcony so it would be less hot than here , no? Come, I'll go with you? ” She asked extra sweetly to appeal her offer.
Never in her life she would have predicted that she would go with kanato willing but then again none of this she had ever predicted too. She just hopes it doesn't backfire.
“Ehh? Yui-san, you think so too, right? It's hot here. Laitoo doesn't let me take off my clothes!” His become like reiji!? ” kanato, grabbing yui's arm like a child, whined. He leaned on her, standing through her arm support and gestured to laito. Yui felt her cheeks heating as she noticed he was shirtless.
“Kaanato-kun! Please don't cling onto bitch chan so shamelessly! Get away from her at once! ” laito put his hands on his hip and looked at yui's face.
“You too bitch chan! Don't you have shame!? A guy is clinging to you naked and you're letting him, do you like this kind of stuff!? ”
Ayato pointed to kanato and Yui.
“Oi, Chichinashi! You and kanato are in this together, right!? You didn't tell me!? Teach me too! I'll be ninja vampire, then you'll see! ”
Yui was at loss of words, she didn't know how to make them understand but the way laito accused her made her ashamed of herself. God please forgive me.
“Oi, what are you doing!?” Subaru roared towards the triplets. So he didn't listen after all... Still she felt glad that he was here. Subaru is unexpectedly thoughtful sometimes. She had to answer them. She shaked her head and tried meekly.
“No. it's not like that , laito-kun, ayato-kun . Kanato-kun is distressed because of heat so i was just helping him... ” she glanced at kanato who was already staring at her with drowsy eyes.
“Yui-san... You'll stay with me? ” He asked with a slurred yet innocent voice.
“Yes, kanato kun... I'll come with you. ”
“will you gently caress me? ” he asked with innocence of a child.
Yui wondered if it was a good idea or not. What if it'll come to bite her back? In all honesty she doesn't want to concern herself with kanato, his reactions are scary. But he looks like a child now so i can just hope I'll be safe so i can't back down now...
”Yes,so now let's go the room upstairs? There'll be window where you can get some fresh cold air? ” She asked sweetly. For the extra effect, she tugged at his arm. Though he looked already skinny, intoxication had made him more easier to push around. His body was swaying, so she supported him.
“yesh, I'll like to leave from here...” He leaned his whole body on her frame. As kanato had a smaller frame compared to his brothers, it was easier for yui to support him. Being glad that he was listening to her, she stepped ahead with him.
Subaru was both agitated and disgusted to see kanato leaning on her whole being. That sugar zombie child was going away with her, babbling whatever shit he could spout. He was certainly gonna do something perverted to her,and that idiot would get herself in trouble .. not like I care about her !? and what if ,what if he —?!
Beside him laito gasped. “How did bitch chan became so immodest!? Going to a room alone with a naked man —how could she!? ” he shaked subaru by the shoulders.
“O-oi!? Don't shake me!? "
Subaru was taken by surprise. He isn't the one to get touchy with others, brothers or not. Getting shaked,his gaze fell on Ayato who was standing quietly staring at the path yui and kanato went. Che! Both of them—No. All of them are nuts. Without thinking, he pushed laito away from him.
Laito stumbled a few steps back and landed on his back. He gasped again. “Subaru-kun!? How could you—!? That's how you behave with your dear older brother?! You've disappointed me terribly...uu ”
He stood up again.
“Tsk...I-its not my fault, okay!? And besides what dear older brother, haah!?” subaru huffed and punched a wall. “Dear my ass! You've never even acted as an older brother ever! ”
Reiji sobbed loudly at this. He looked devastated looking at the crack in the wall.
“Subaru... Uu.. Why must you act in such crude manner? ” He wept loudly holding yui's handkerchief.
Suddenly Ayato turned back, his eyes glimmering with mischievous energy.
“Chichinashi and kanato went to practice their ninja way! Imma caught them red handed and unravel their ninja secrets! Then she'll see yours truly is the best!”
He started stumbling towards the way yui went, calling for kanato and yui.
“Bitch chan shouldn't be tainted by kanato kun! She shouldn't be inappropriate!” laito fretted while stepping clumsily. “I'll see to it myself! Wait for me ayato kun! ”
He stumbled towards ayato and grabbed his arm. “And ayato kun! stop calling my bitch chan chichinashi! It's very vulgur y'know! ”
“Haah!? Chichinashi is chichinashi! Don't get in my way laito! I'll call her whatever I want! And I am going to be cool vampire ninja! ”
Ayato freed his arm and went ahead, laito calling after him.
What am i doing here!? Subaru looked behind at crying reiji and laughing shu. Shit! Whatever! I don't care! I am going! He went after laito and ayato too, cursing his brothers all the way in his mind.
Yui was beyond nervous. Living with vampires was one thing but staying alone with a drunk vampire was beyond another thing. More so when that vampire was kanato who's as predictable as a coin toss. Never knows when it'll be heads or tails .
Currently she was heading towards a bedroom with balcony, with kanato's bare body clinging to her uncharacteristically. He was pressing his cold body as closely as it could to her warm one, his head resting on her shoulder, face dangerously close to her neck. He had his arm hanging from her other shoulder while yui's one arm was around his waist,supporting his body to keep him from falling. Her other arm holding his hanging arm. He couldn't even walk straight on his own so yui had to help him, stumbling left and right through hallway with him so that he wouldn't fall. If he had been heavier, she would've had a harder time than this. Atleast for that she was grateful to her God.
Kanato acted like a little child the whole way except for him sniffing her weirdly here and there. Though this was not something new to her considering all the brothers had sniffed her at sometimes. Maybe it's the vampires genes or one of their animalistic traits . Either that or they were just weird in this way.
While walking or precisely to say stumbling he kept combing at her hair, curling them in his fingers or touching them delicately through his fingertips while resting at her shoulder.
“Hey won't you caress me here? ”, he slurred Unintelligibly.
Yui wondered what he meant by this but she can't avoid this, at some point she would have to heed to his pleads else he'll snap. Unsure at what to do she answered, “S-sure, we're just there . Afterwards I'll caress you however times you want? ”
“Really..? Will you? And you'll also stay with me, right? ”
“okay!”
She heaved a sigh of relief when kanato started playing with her hair again, twirling the curls of her strawberry blonde hair in his finger, his eyes fixated on her heart shaped necklace or maybe her neckline. She didn't allow her line of thought to go that way.
If her plan were a success, soon ayato and laito would caught up to them too . But is this even a plan? Getting alone with kanato is never a good idea. For obvious reasons. Even laito is not a safe option, Ayato is...he's no better than his brothers, he gets greedy and sucks way too much blood. Suddenly yui had feeling that she was getting herself in trouble but she's too late now.
Just as she had this thought, kanato's staggering came to a halt. His sudden halt threw her off, but she composed herself at the last moment.
“K-Kanato kun, what happened?”, She inquired carefully.
Very Abruptly kanato pulled her close , pressing his bare chest to her body, he had his one arm on her waist, squishing her torso with his bare one. His other hand was in her hair, delicate fingers brushing past her blond curls .
He buried his face in her neck . Yui's breath hitched. She's frozen like a stone as she contemplates her life decisions.
“Hah..You smell so nice ... ” His hot breath hits over her neck,all too sensitive because of unwanted privacy invasion of an unknown body.
“K-Kanato kun!? ”
In her urgency, she pushes him away from her only to be squished back to his chest. His half-lided lilic eyes stared deep into her sherbet pinks,His breath fanning her lips and cheeks making her conscious and afraid.
“You don't want to pat me..?”, he mutters incoherently.
Yui didn't understand it at first but after a few seconds it dawned on her. He wants her to pat his head, right? Though she's afraid she knows that she can't get out of this situation now. Kanato is a unpredictable predator. A ruthless one at that. Once he sents his eyes on something, he knows how to get it. Whatever the means he'd had to resort to. She still remembers those eerie wax statue of girls, they were once lively and alive like her but now they are just mere dolls to amuse kanato. It's better to not agitate kanato. She's powerless anyway.
"Why would you think so? Of course I would..? ”, She answered instantly. Well, head pats wouldn't hurt...right?
She mustered up her courage and started patting kanato's head, “There, there. Such a good boy. ”
Kanato smiled widely and lowered his head to yui's chest. He hugged her with his head resting on her chest. He inhaled again.
“It's... Warm and soft. Hey? Keep patting, okay? It feels...nice...here... ”, he mumbled incoherently.
“I.. Like your smell...it's nostalgic and nice....And your skin, so soft and warm...your hair feels nice too...like a doll...You'll stay with me, right? I'll make you feel you feel good too... ”, his words were unintelligible enough that Yui barely understood what he was saying. He was just glued to her whole body like a baby monkey, muttering unintelligebly while Yui awkward patted his hair. Like always he was acting like a child, just this time a very drunk child who wanted yui's head pats.
Abruptly again, he got his head up and brought it closer to Yui. His one hand rested on her lips, touching them. Yui was too flabbergasted to react.
“They.. look nice... ”, he muttered while brushing her lips with his thumb. He started leaning his face closer her lips. Alarms were ringing in her head at this. Wha—!?
His face came closer, closer, just a few inches away from her lips, his nose brushing hers. God, save me!?
“Oi, kanato!? ”
Just then his whole body was ripped away from her, kanato's body was pushed to the floor in brusque manner.
“Wh—!? Owww... Uu.. Who?! ” He whined from the floor.
It was Laito , Ayato and subaru.
The one who shouted was Ayato, followed by laito who pulled kanato away from Yui and subaru who pushed kanato away but the impact threw him off and he fell.
Laito grabbing yui's shoulder, shaked her, “Bitch chan!? How could you!? Something as vulgur as kissing!? And how could you go to a room alone with a strange man, it's dangerous, don't y'know!? ”
“Oi , chichinashi! Why didn't you show him your ninja technique?! It means You only tease me, right!?", Ayato inquired rather haughtily.
Yui's blushed at their accusation and answered instantly,“I didn't! ”
“How could you go with kanato kun!? Do you like us hitting on you!? Did you forget you are a church girl or did you get influenced by us! ”
Laito kept shaking Yui by the shoulders in a dramatic manner.
“Yes! Chichinashi show me your ninja technique! Reveal your true colors and vanish in smoke! ", Ayato jumped up and down with anticipation left to laito.
Getting shaked like a shaker, Yui widen her eyes at both of them. What would it take for them to come to their sense!?
“Oi, Oi ! Stop shaking her! Leave her alone, you idiot! ”, subaru cut in between them and freed Yui from laito's grasp. He stood in front of her, shielding her from his brothers.
“And subaru, please stop calling your older brother laito kun idiot, it hurts y'know! ”, Laito pointed to his heart.
“Che! I-i don't give a damn! ”
“And again stop cursing, subaru-kun!”, laito huffed. He turned and help a whiny kanato to stand up.
Ayato stood there scrutinizing Yui with his gaze as if she would transform into a ninja in a second.
“Why you interrupted me, laito!?”, kanato raised his voice but the words were too incoherent to be understood.
“Kanato kun! How can you act so immodest to bitch chan! You scared her you know!” ,Laito grasp kanato and started nagging him, “And why are you naked and alone with bitch chan!? Don't you have any shame!? ”
“I'll do whatever I want! What are you, a second reiji!?” Kanato threw laito's hand away and started staggering towards yui's direction.
“I don't want to stay here... Hah... I am starting to feel hot again....”, he looked towards yui again and hushed, “Hey won't you come here? ”
“Oi! Don't drag her in this!!”, subaru turned to Yui and grabbed her hand, pulling her away from the triplets, “fuck this plan! Let's go! ”
“Subaru kun, don't hold bitch Chan's hand! It's inappropriate! ”, Laito called out after them. With kanato staggering and falling behind him.
Ayato keeping eye on Yui while walking besides her and subaru.
They all arrived in the living room again to a serious shu holding reiji's collar. Reiji looked beyond nervous with dripping tears.
Subaru and Yui ran to them in a hurry.
Behind them triplets were now bantering with each other.
Shu glared at reiji, “I've been holds back for a while because you are my little brother but it seems you aren't grateful.... You.. ”, he squeezed reiji's collar harshly.
“S-Shu... ” , Reiji looked mortified with Shu's sudden reaction.
Subaru and Yui stepped forward to shu, in case a fight issued.
“O-oi, S-Shu—”, Subaru tried to seperate them.
“You…Pfft…Fufu….”, Shu started laughing hysterically again. He loosen his hold on reiji's collar and wiped his unshed tears from his eyes.
He just kept on laughing afterwards on reiji's surprised Pikachu face , “Ahahaha!! That face! Reiji! You’ve even got tears in your eyes! What a sight! Hahahaha! ”
“You…You…really are nothing but a deadbeat! …How could you!?”, Reiji started crying again.
And shu made fun of reiji's crying face. He kept making fun of him. And reiji kept getting teary face over it.
Now Yui felt pity for reiji. His older brother shu was just straight up bullying him. She never took Shu to be a bully, more so with his blood brother.
She wanted to help reiji so she took a step and muster courage, “Shu-san, please stop this.”
Shu turned to Yui, “Haah!? What? …Heh. You wanna join in too? ”, shu cocked his head to a side, giving Yui a smirk.
Subaru tried to take her away by warning, “Oi, you! Now’s not the time to get involved!”
Reiji turned to her and sobbed, “For one…Ever since you came here, it’s been one disaster after the other…Our everyday life keeps on getting thrown in disorder…Why!?”
He continued his crying at this.
Hearing this, Yui finched. In a way reiji-san was right, ever since she came here , it seems time after time a disaster would happen to sakamakis. Just as her life has been thrown in a spiralling disorder, their life too had become disorderly as reiji San claimed. Reiji-san always puts facts first so it must on his mind for quite a while. All because of her . Even Cordelia who was an abusive mother, she came back because of Yui abd her body and they all had to face her again. Yui felt guilty at this.
Shu put his arm around yui's shoulder as she stood there frozen, looking anything but guilty. He brought his head near her ear and giggled, “Haha…You’ve broken out in a cold sweat. Your tense expression looks nice too. Hahaha…”
Reiji stood up and brought his arm around her waist, trying to pull her away from Shu but not being able to do so,“ Hey, Shuu! You’re getting way too close to her! I am talking to her right now!”, he whined.
Yui came to realize that in her tense moment, she had allowed herself to be captured between both siblings. Now she was stuck here in between them unable to move. She looked around helplessly.
Shu answered reiji sheepishly, “Hahaha.. Why are you getting so worked up over it,Reeiji~Why are you crying that much?”
Subaru met yui's plead for help and manned upto both of his older brothers. He looked pissed off at both of them.
“Both of you need to stop gettin’ up in her face! Ah…This is such a pain.”, he looked at Yui and yelled,“Do somethin’ ‘bout this yourself!"
Shu started laughing at subaru's worked up expression, “Ahaha…Subaru’s worked up too…Hahaha! What’s wrong with you guys today? You’re all way too agitated, don’t you think? Ahahaha! ”
Reiji sobbed at yui's handkerchief while holding Yui with one arm, “Subaru…How dare you speak that way to your older brothers? You are actually kindhearted, aren’t you? Why do you keep on acting tough? As your older brother, it saddens me.”
Yui could see Subaru was losing it now.
”Once again…Why are all of you bastards suddenly pullin’ the older brother card!? Che…Oi, you two, get away from her already. ” , he ordered at both of them.
But Shu and Reiji both answered and instantly and simultaneously, “Don’t want to.”
At this Subaru looked stupily at three of them and then came instant expression of annoyance, “Ugh…GET AWAY I SAID! ”
He just went ahead and grabbed yui's arm harshly, tugging Yui his way, “Aah…You! Come here!”
His tugging was such a force that Yui stumbled away from Shu and reiji. Subaru hurriedly dragged her away from shu and reiji , hiding her behind him a few steps back.
Shu and reiji stepped forward towards Subaru, aiming for Yui.
“ What are you doing…? She’s going to play with us”, Shu motioned towards him and reiji.
Reiji folded his arms and stepped beside shu, “Exactly! We were still in the middle of our conversation after all!”
Yui could see the situation was getting heated now. She could see triplets stumbling towards reiji and shu too. She didn't want to cause a fight between the brothers but she didn't want to be squished between them too. If she were to intervene,then one of them would certainly capture her and it would only be risky for her and more upsetting for Subaru.
Hence she did the only thing she could do, she stayed silent and watched. Besides she had learned this lesson to not try the tactics of handling drunk person on them because they were far from normal human.
Subaru looked both panicked and on the verge of bursting, “Ugh…Disgustin’…I’m tellin’ you to cut it out! Come on!!”
All of sudden he powered up, causing an explosion of air, sending his all brothers flying through the hole in the roof.
Yui hid behind the sofa during the explosion. After it, she ran towards Subaru.
He widen his eyes and huffed, “Haah, haah…Fuck…I did it again…Ugh!”
He turned to Yui and asked,“Actually, how come you’re totally fine even though you had some of that juice as well? ”
Now that Subaru mentioned it, it was true. All the brothers were completely inebriated but she was fine. It was as if she just had her normal cranberry juice. She just shrugged, “I don't know, it's as if I feel nothing at all. ”
“...Haah, in other words, you’re a heavy weight? ”, Subaru mumbled those last words, she barely heard them.
“But Subaru kun, what happened to shu, reiji and others? Would they be alright? ”, She asked Worriedly. What if something happened to them? Then it would be her fault because she was the one who poured them that drink. She would never forgive herself for the fight between the brothers. They had to go look for them.
“…Aah!? Just forget ‘bout those guーー …Right. It’s a pain, but I guess we should go look for them at least", Subaru sighed and rubbed his forehead.
Somewhere in the woods, Laito wakes up with a throbbing head. His mind was all a jumbled mess and he didn't quite remember anything how he got here. Did he sleep with some chick here for arousal?
He looked around to find Reiji and Shu out cold there. It looked like they were with him. Why are they here? Then someone caught his eye. A naked kanato, crying hysterically.Why is kanato kun naked?
He prefers the sight of girls getting naked ,not his own crying brother naked.
”Say, Kanato-kun…Why are you naked?“, he asks curiously.
Kanato, already crying, cries more hysterically at this, “Uu… (sobs) T-That’s…Uu…What I’d like to know…!! Hey, Ayato! Answer the question…!!”
He shouted at ayato, his biopolar side coming to the surface.
Ayato massaging his forhead answers, “: I don’t know either. …Geh!", he doubletakes after looking at Kanato,“Kanato…Your face a soppy mess from the tears. …Ugh…My head hurts. I can’t remember anythin’ past drinkin’ that weird juice for Subaru”.
Looks like Ayato kun's head is throbbing too. Seems like laito's not the only one with piercing headache and disfigured memories. Laito tries to remember what happened but only something like Ayato-kun and ninja's come to mind.
“Me too…I do remember you suddenly became abnormally intrigued by ninjas though…”
“Haah!? I didn’t say anythin’ like that!”, Ayato denies it.
Kanato considers it a moment and shakes his head,“But…I vaguely remember something like that too. Also, Laito was acting odd too.“
Now that was a surprise for laito to hear., “Eeh!? Really? I’m my usual self, aren’t I?”, No way he'd be acting like something else.
Ayato shakes his head, “Nah, you were weird. I remember it too. I don’t know why, but you were losin’ your shit”, he said scratching his head.
Laito... Getting angry ? What a joke.
He widen his eyes, “Eeeh…!? I’d be the last person to do that!”, He had stopped feeling these emotions a long time ago.
“Both of you are so rude. …More importantly, why are we here? On top of that…My body’s hurting in various places.”
He was feeling sore in various places. How did this happen? What happened after everyone drank that juice? He will dig deeper about this incident but for now they had to go back home so that he can rest.
Kanato covered himself with his hands, shivering he said, “Also ...it's cold! ”
“Ugh…Calm down, Kanato. For now, let’s just head home.” Ayato announces for them.
“Right. …So, are we taking our big brothers laying over there with us?", laito gestures towards his older brothers. It didn't look like they would wake up soon. Seriously, who sleeps here?
