Chapter Text
Xie Lian could've never imagined that the total stranger she accepted a ride "home" from, would end up changing her whole life.
It had been a whole year since they met, and Xie Lian's feelings for the guitarist haven't changed once.
"Jiejie?" Hua Cheng's voice called out from the kitchen.
Xie Lian sat up in the messy bed, rubbing her hands through her hair, twisting it over her shoulder. "Coming!"
She slid off the bed and wandered into the bathroom, taking a moment to brush her teeth and look presentable. Although she knew Hua Cheng wouldn't care how she looked.
After tying her hair up into a bun, she led the bedroom, making her way to the kitchen.
"Good morning, San Niang," Xie Lian quietly walked behind Hua Cheng, wrapping her arms around her waist.
Hua Cheng flipped one last pancake before moving the pan off of the stovetop and turning around in Xie Lian's arms. "Good morning, jiejie. How did you sleep?"
Xie Lian nuzzled into Hua Cheng's chest, "I slept good, what is San Niang making?"
Gently reaching for the a plate with a larger stack of pancakes, Hua Cheng lifted it above Xie Lian's head. "Just pancakes, would jiejie like some?"
Xie Lian nodded and pulled away from Hua Cheng heading for the island and taking a seat. "Yes, please. They smell very good."
Hua Cheng nodded setting the plate onto the island, along with silverware and syrup. "What would jiejie like to drink?"
"Could San Niang make some tea?"
Hua Cheng nodded, immediately grabbing a kettle and being a process to making tea for the two.
It had only been a year since they met, a year since Xie Lian stayed there for the first time, yet it seems like they've known each other forever.
Even though Xie Lian loves staying over at Hua Cheng's beautiful penthouse, Feng Xin and Mu Qing quickly became suspicious of her. Unfortunately their suspicions only grew when they met Hua Cheng for the first time at one of their gigs.
Xie Lian had introduced her as a new friend, not mentioning too much about her being a guitarist, or the fact she made Xie Lian go weak in the knees just from the sight of her on a stage.
Hua Cheng set two mugs onto the island, "Here you go, jiejie. Careful, it's hot."
All the times that Hua Cheng had made her tea, she never failed to mention that it was hot, although Xie Lian had always waited a moment before even touching the glass.
Xie Lian clapped her hands together and smiled up at Hua Cheng, "Thank you, San Niang! It smells and looks amazing."
Hua Cheng nodded, a smile tugging at her lips from the praise. "Anything for jiejie," She waited for Xie Lian to begin eating before even touching her silverware. "I hope everything is to jiejie's liking."
They had gone through their meal in a mostly comfortable silence, only breaking when they both would bring up random aspects of their past week or the present day.
"Oh, San Niang?" Xie Lian started. Hua Cheng glanced up from her plate and nodded, tilting her head. Xie Lian frowned as she began speaking, barely pushing the words past her lips. "I'm staying with Feng Xin and Mu Qing in their apartment for a few days, to get ready for our upcoming show."
Hua Cheng's mouth formed into an 'Oh', but no words came out of her mouth at that moment. Quickly, she changed her expression and smiled, "Alright, jiejie. When is your show?"
Xie Lian took the last bite of her pancakes before standing and setting her dishes into the sink.
"I'll send you all the details," She stared up at Hua Cheng, now standing right in front of her.
A brief look flashed over Hua Cheng's face before she reached down to hook her arms around Xie Lian's waist. "Since you're leaving so soon, we should make use of the time we have now.."
Xie Lian flushed and smiled before nodding, reaching up to wrap her own arms around Hua Cheng's neck.
The moment Hua Cheng felt her arms she leaned down to connect their lips.
It didn't matter how many times they kissed, every time still felt like a blessing to Xie Lian. Hua Cheng was so gentle with her, every time they embraced her touch could turn Xie Lian into a puddle.
Hua Cheng reached her hands further down to hook then around Xie Lian's thighs. It only took a second before Xie Lian was being hoisted and pressed onto the island.
Hua Cheng pulled away for just a second to look at Xie Lian, she dragged her eyes over every part of her.
Xie Lian happened to notice quickly that this was something Hua Cheng did a lot, it almost felt like she was internally worshipping Xie Lian, or at least it seemed that way with how she looked at her.
They both quickly reconnected, Hua Cheng pulled Xie Lian to the edge of the island and stood between her legs.
Xie Lian shuddered as she felt Hua Cheng's hands gently grazing their way down her thighs.
Just as Hua Cheng began to sink to her knees and pull away from the kiss, a large bang came from the door.
Xie Lian immediately froze and pulled Hua Cheng back up straight. She stayed on the island, holding Hua Cheng between her legs. "Ah.. sorry," She untightened her legs around Hua Cheng and glanced to the door.
Hua Cheng sighed and placed a soft kiss at the base of Xie Lian's neck before leaving to the door.
Another bang came again before the door was opened, Xie Lian hopped off of the counter and made her way to where Hua Cheng held the door open.
She stood in a silent shock as Mu Qing and Feng Xin stood angrily in the hallway.
Hua Cheng was first to break the silence, "Is there a reason you're banging on my door this early in the morning?"
Xie Lian quietly took a step behind Hua Cheng in an attempt to hide herself.
Mu Qing scoffed and glared at Hua Cheng, "Is there a reason she's here this early in the morning?"
Without a glance to Xie Lian, Hua Cheng took a step forward, "If there's nothing you need, the elevator is down the hall."
She started to close the door before Feng Xin stuck her hand in-between the frame and the door. Hua Cheng groaned and attempted to close the door once more before the two came barging in.
Xie Lian came out from behind Hua Cheng, staring at the two—who unfortunately noticed she was still in her pajamas.
"Xie Lian, we have rehearsal today, why are you here?"
With a sigh, Xie Lian looked up at Hua Cheng for a moment before returning her attention to Mu Qing. "San Niang made breakfast."
Feng Xin and Mu Qing turned to stare at each other, and at this point, Mu Qing's veins were practically popping out of her head. "Breakfast?"
Xie Lian nodded, pointing to the kitchen, "We just finished, and unless our schedule has changed, we don't have rehearsal for at least a few more hours. So if you don't mind," She walked to the door and held it open.
Scoffing, Mu Qing was quick to call her out, "If it was just breakfast, why are you in your pajamas—"
It seemed Hua Cheng had enough of hearing Mu Qing's voice as the next words Mu Qing spoke were from outside the apartment in front of a closed door.
She gently tapped on her shoulder before pushing her and Feng Xin out of the apartment.
Hua Cheng ran her fingers through the hair at her scalp before pushing a button on the wall, labeled, 'security.'
Xie Lian rubbed her temple and nervously smiled, "Sorry, San Niang. I don't know why they're like this."
Turning from the wall, Hua Cheng chuckled, "It's alright, jiejie, I found it quite amusing. I'm just rather confused how they managed to come up and get through security."
Xie Lian tilted her head and nodded, "It's even troublesome for me to get through sometimes. I couldn't imagine how they were able to."
Hua Cheng's expression shifted, "The guards are still giving you trouble?"
Xie Lian quickly shook her head and waved her hand, "Ah, not really! Just sometimes."
With a nod, Hua Cheng walked towards the kitchen. She began to wash the dishes that had been left in the sink from earlier.
Xie Lian silently watched her for a moment before speaking, "I'm going to get dressed, San Niang, Ill be right back!"
She smiled and left the kitchen, exiting to their shared room— which had been shared since the first time Xie Lian stayed there.
Laying out a fresh set of clothes from her bag, Xie Lian felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist. "San Niang?"
Hua Cheng breathed down on Xie Lian's shoulder, and to the base of her neck. "Doesn't jiejie still have a hour or two until she has to leave?"
Xie Lian nodded, continuing to lay out some of her items onto the bed in-front of the two.
"Then allow this one to help her beloved get dressed?"
Xie Lian chuckled, she turned her head slightly and smiled, "I suppose I wouldn't mind the help."
Hua Cheng's lips curved into a smile and she planted a butterfly soft kiss across Xie Lian's kiss.
From there, Hua Cheng pulled herself slightly off of Xie Lian and reached for the bottom of Xie Lian's sleep shirt. It was easy to pull off, and once it was off, Xie Lian felt the cold of the morning air.
Small goosebumps appeared across her arms as Hua Cheng gently ran her fingers up and down Xie Lian's sides, slightly grazing her nails.
This alone was enough to send Xie Lian into a spiral. She leaned back, her head knocking against Hua Cheng's shoulder.
"Does that feel nice, jiejie?"
Xie Lian sent her a quick glance, chuckling and appreciating the feeling of her hands roaming over her torso. "If San Niang already knows the answer, why ask?"
It was something Hua Cheng liked to do, even when Xie Lian clearly enjoyed something, Hua Cheng would stop all action just to ask if she had been enjoying herself.
Hua Cheng grinned and her hands slid across the waistband of Xie Lian's sweatpants. "I prefer to hear how jiejie's feeling in her own words."
Xie Lian was about to reply before Hua Cheng snapped the waist band, oddly feeling very nice to her.
Her body melted against Hua Cheng's she wanted to just pull her onto the bed, but she didn't want their last time together for a few days to be rushed.
She mumbled, "San Niang."
Hua Cheng nozed at Xie Lian's neck, planting kisses at the base. "Yes, jiejie?"
Xie Lian stifled a whine as Hua Cheng nipped her shoulder. "I.. I want—"
Before she had the chance to even tell Hua Cheng what it was that she wanted, her phone rang. Suddenly, she dreaded the ringtone she had grown to love over time.
Xie Lian groaned and quickly silenced her phone and tossed it across the bed before reaching back to Hua Cheng, who stood in the same spot as before.
"Sorry, San Niang," Xie Lian let out a sigh and dropped her head to the floor as Hua Cheng smiled and wrapped her arms tightly around Xie Lian's waist.
She reached her arm across Xie Lian's torso and to her chin, she gently lifted Xie Lian's chin and tilted her head to look at her. "What is it that jiejie wants?"
Xie Lian barely had the chance to open her mouth before her phone rang once more. She groaned and leaned onto the bed for her phone. She took a seat and only sighed once she saw the texts and calls she had missed from Feng Xin and Mu Qing.
As soon as she answered Feng Xin's call, Hua Cheng kneeled down onto the floor infront of her, reaching her hands up and running them up and down Xie Lian's thighs.
Xie Lian shuddered and leaned her head back, "Hello?"
Feng Xin sighed and spoke, in a tone that seemed rather rough and tired. "Xie Lian, why haven't you been answering? I understand you're at.. her place currently, but a text would've been nice."
At this point, Xie Lian had enough and her tone was rather unpleasant but not mean enough to be rude. "I do have things to do outside of the band, you know," She paused before adjusting her tone. "Can I help you with something?"
The sounds of shouting filled the speakers of Xie Lian's phone and she quickly pulled it away from her ear. She took a glance down at Hua Cheng, who happened to be staring up right at her, her hands sneaking close to the waistband of Xie Lian's pants.
Xie Lian smiled down at her before Mu Qing's voice flooded Xie Lian's phone.
"Turns out we have the studio for the next four hours instead, be here in fifteen minutes."
Xie Lian's mouth dropped open and she groaned, "Hold on—"
Silence. Mu Qing hung up on her!
She silently cursed and fell back onto the bed. "San Niang," She looked up as Hua Cheng crawled next to her on the bed. "Turns out we have the studio for extra hours today, and you know how Feng Xin and Mu Qing are."
Hua Cheng's lip's turned downward for a moment before she stifled her expression, "In fifteen minutes? When does jiejie ever catch a break?"
Xie Lian chuckled and reached out to cup Hua Cheng's face. "Not anytime soon, apparently. However I really should get going—"
Hua Cheng softly lunged forward, capturing Xie Lian's lips and quickly licking into her mouth.
Their kiss lasted for only a few seconds before Hua Cheng pulled away and sat up, smiling down at the stunned Xie Lian.
Xie Lian only stared up at her, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. "San Niang."
Hua Cheng grabbed Xie Lian's hands and pulled her onto her feet. "Well, jiejie. You wouldn't want to keep your companions waiting. I'll help to gather your things."
