Chapter Text
Learning to exist like that did not prove easy.
Throughout the following 16 or so years, it had to relearn everything again and then more.
Currently, It looked vaguely frog-like with odd, almost eye-burning green skin. Not the prettiest sight, but at least no more bones were sticking out. The poison had also been becoming more potent as any predators foolish enough to approach the pond and try to peck or bite the thing would fall to the ground soon after.
...
..Over the long period of staying around the same area, there had been this increasing urge to move. To see things, observe them. It didn't know why but the feeling had become so strong it was almost threatening.
And so, despite the pain and the fear, it finally ventured from the pond.
...
It eventually arrived at the park of an urban town bordering the forest.
The town looked beautiful; glowing orbs danced around in the moonlight and illuminated the streets. Large, detailed and colorful buildings scattered around, Objects talking to each other..
..Objects. New things. Feeling invigorated, it approached two objects sitting next to each other in the grass, with one who looked like a long metal cylinder with a hook at the end while the other seemed to be a rolled up piece of candy. Not that it would've known what either of those things were. They were discussing something with smiles on their faces. Making slow steps yet still stumbling, the thing warily made some noise to alert the two Objects of its presence. The hooked cylinder turned to the sound in confusion.
A piercing scream immediately filled the park after making eye-contact.
The candy gives the cylinder a confused look. "Hook? what's- ohMOONSABOVE-", grabbing one of the cylinder's hands, they both began shuffling backwards, horror evident in their eyes.
"IT'S- IT'S A FUCKING MONSTER!!-", Hook yelled in fear.
Something fell out of the candy's hand before they pulled the other object upwards and booked it. Other Objects that had been enjoying the relaxing views quickly turned and began running as well upon seeing what the screaming was for.
And soon enough, there was silence.
Shaken by the screams that it struggled to process, it wandered over to the dropped item, which revealed itself to be some kind of rectangular device. It poked at the thing curiously, making the screen on the front light up.
Take.. with..?
Clutching the item, it disappeared into the bushes once more.
