Chapter Text

Alastor had always been the strongest demon in the room, this time was no different. So why did it feel that much more intoxicating? Sometime during his warning to Angel Dust and the other hotel residents, his arm had slipped from atop Husk’s head, wrapping possessively around the shorter of the two’s shoulders. The feeling of a pounding heart protected only by fragile bones and fleshy skin was enough to give Alastor goosebumps.

The unfamiliar body under his hands was tiny compared to its former feline demon glory, feeling as though it was using every muscle possible to pretend Alastor’s weight was not affecting him nearly as much as it was.

Technically speaking, he had always been this much stronger than Husk, but at least the feline-like demon had been able to defend himself from other demons. This was different, Alastor was going to have to keep a close eye on him until the curse either wore off or they found a cure.

Now that in itself shouldn’t have been an issue, after all he always kept a close eye on those he had on a leash. Now, he needed to keep a close eye on himself as well. Alastor almost could not contain himself when he had first entered the room, the overwhelming scent of human and fear had muddled his mind, only snapping out of it by Husk’s familiar ‘annoyance.’

Husk is ‘friend not food’, he had to remind himself. It did not stop his mouth from watering, especially not when he leant down to breathe in deeply where the scent was strongest at Husk’s neck. His little human had better appreciate all the years of practicing self-control it took for him to get to this or else little Husker would have found himself shredded and seasoned already.

Hmm, he would most likely have to postpone his catch up with Rosie now, it wasn’t like he could bring Husk with him, ha! What a disaster that would be!

Now, he trusted himself not to skewer and roast Husk on a spit, despite his new tantalising scent, but did he trust the other residents? No doubt they were reacting to the scent, yet Alastor doubted they had even tried human before, so there would be no motive to drive them towards actually taking a bite out of their dear bartender.

Yet, it was not a risk he was willing to taste- take. He had meant take. Perhaps the scent was affecting him more than he realised… not to worry, its not as though he would ever act on these instincts…
“Well, would you take a look at the time! Husker and I shall be taking our leave now. After all a good day is not a day spent moping about!” Alastor exclaimed, before allowing his shadows to transport them to his room.
“You lied to them.” Husk said softly, still so small within the radio demons’ arms.

“Hmm? You will have to speak up, dear.” Alastor hummed, finally letting go of his human.

“You said we were going out, but all you’ve done is locked me up in your room.” Husk frowned, a growl tinging the edge of his voice.

“Oh, please do not be so dramatic, Husker, the doors not even locked! Besides, this is merely temporary till we return you to your majestic feline form! Do not look so disappointed! Such a handsome face, should not be frowning so hard, my dear!”

“It may not be locked but I know you’ve placed your weird voodoo shit on it to make sure no one comes in.” Husk’s voice gradually got louder as he spoke.

“The room is still there of course, this is merely a temporary spell that makes us unnoticed, it will ensure we are not heard or bothered.” Alastor confirmed, waving his staff away.

He had not expected the anger that had suddenly surged forward from Husk.

“What is this?! Why the fuck are you just messing with me like this?! I know your fucking tricks; you’re trying to get me to let down my guard so you can dig in. Well, I’m not a fucking idiot like those other pricks you love to torment. I’m not going to just sit here and let you rip me apart; I don’t give a shit if you own my soul, you’re sure as hell not eating my heart!” Husk snarled, lips curling to expose a blunt toothed snarl.

It had been a long time since he had seen Husk so riled up, and truly, Alastor hadn’t even needed to mess with him that much. “Oh, Husker, I’m not going to eat you! Just a little taste test, it wont hurt that much…”

Not even in his feline form would Husk had been able to dodge as Alastor lunged at him, pinning him to the floor with a strength few could rival. The effect was immediate. All at once a new surge of fear flared up, fogging Alastor’s mind as he pressed his nose into the crook of Husk’s neck, feeling the pounding heart beat stutter. Dull nails scratch uselessly at the radio demons coat, feebly attempting to push the Overlord away.

Glee surged through Alastor had barely even done anything yet Husk truly thought he’d have to fight for his life.

Suddenly his human fell still.

“It’s-it’s no fun when they don’t fight back, huh? Do whatever you want, I won’t give you the reaction you want.” Husk gasped out, glaring furiously at Alastor.

Well, that just wouldn’t do.
